- Well, got the Bodyguard 38 out today to runs some rounds through it. Worked great, think I'm going to really like this little gun for EDC this summer. Thanks for watching. TN.Frank Out.
Loved your video. Great revolver for lefties like me and right-handed shooters who get cut by the S&W cylinder latch on the left side of the firearm. The cylinder latch on top works really well for me. I bought two. Very easy to carry. Small, lightweight, sufficient power, and mine are reliable. I found your ammo tests with this revolver to be very helpful..
Nice setup…i put the rubber Hogue grips on mine, definitely makes a world of difference!
I bought those same grips for my bodyguard. Makes all the difference. 👍
That grip makes the revolver look awesome. Great review also.
That’s an awesome setup!!! +1 on those grips. I wanted to throw a warning out there because on my Bodyguard 38 out of the box it has a timing issue. As I pull the trigger, the cylinder rotates and the hammer falls right before the locking lug moves back up to index into place. This can be very dangerous, it’d be similar to having a squib load barrel obstruction.
Damn, thanks for the heads up. I plan to get one and will keep that in mind when I get my hands on it for the first test.
Very nice presentation. I have the same Hogue G10 model (and color) on mine, but it still hammers my palm on some heavier loads. Placed the rubber Hogue on order today and will be waiting to see if that will make an improvement on heavy +P loads.
I love the g10 mines plain black but makes the bodyguard a joy to handle.
Very nice review and have to say I love that grip. I got their catalog and saw the bodyguard shown with that grip. I bought this same gun for my bride but she now carry’s a Glock 42 so I may try those grips since she doesn’t carry it. BTW your hand loads are golden!!Thanks for sharing .
Just bought one - thx for the great review!
How are those grips, I've been looking at them mainly because my carry load is the Buffalo Bore 158 +p lswchp, and it is quite brutal with the stock grips.
They work great. They're wider so they spread the recoil out over a larger area of the hand.
Question, do the speedloaders function with the Hogue grip.
Yes, they work great with them.
SW makes this gun and the 442/642 …are they truly different?
Yes, very different. The cylinder latch is in a different spot and the cylinder rotation is also different and uses a different method to turn it.
Where did get JJ mag pouches? Thanks :)
It's the one for the Glock magazine.
Can you post a link to the grip you installed in this video? I like the look, and want one for mine.

It would literally take 5 seconds to google it.. how lazy
Which holster is that from concealment express? Trying to find a kydex IWB for this has been impossible for me.
I’m also picking up some of those grips in about a week, super excited about those.
If you watch some of my later videos you'll see I moved to a Blackhawk leather IWB holster. The Kydex just doesn't work well with a revolver. Not sure if it's the shape of the gun or what but leather seems to be a better bet. 1791 makes some nice leather IWB holster and you can find them on Amazon.
Do you prefer this weapon over the LCR?
Both are nice but if you're a lefty this wins hands down l
Where did you get the speedloaders?
From Work, they're 36A, HKS speedloaders for the J-Frame S&W revolvers.
