    1798 A Rebellion by people mostly of British descent in Antrim and Wexford who wanted French style Govt in wexford at one battle their opponents were Gaelic speaking soldiers of North Cork Militia

      Complete nonsense the majority of the rebel soldiers were catholic.

    While the united Irishmen played no small part in forming Irish republicanism both from Belfast and Dublin, there was an earlier republican movement created by owen Roe O'neill.

    Would the famine have happened if 1798 was successful. Very doubtful as the Irish would have had access to Irish Land
