    This was a very informative video, once again. I am curious, when you're traveling around (not at your place in Montenegro), what sort of things do you take with you to help you feel at home? For example, do you have a sort of 'kit' that you keep in our car that you just bring into a new Airbnb each time you move (besides the necessities like clothes, toiletries, etc)? I''m always curious what full time travelers do to make themselves feel at home when they're not at home. I look forward to another video!

      Great questions. We actually do pack some special things. The two most important are the mattress topper and 2 feather pillows we like.
      We also have a spice kit and kitchen utensil kit as well as one pot and a nice skillet. These are essential since most air, B&Bs provide very little.

    Some things you mentioned were expensive to me, but on the other hand the MOT and car repairs seem far more affordable than in the states. $2800 a month (excluding the house as you mentioned) that's not bad specially with all the things you're doing, which means a single person who's out and about on an adventure trip should be able to do it on a fraction of the cost.

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Without another person and dogs you’ll save on groceries, restaurants, and be more flexible for lower cost lodgings and miscellaneous for sure. You can definitely go less expensive than we do.

    Awesome vlog with great info. My wife and I are currently in Thailand and traveling like you guys in EU. We bought a used car, got a Thai Driver Lic, and using Chiang Mai as our home-base. We are planing to go to EU in the next 6 to 12 months time and plan to spend 4 to 5 years traveling in EU. We really like your setup with the car since we also travel with our dog. Can I ask how you set up your Corp. and if you got a local Driver Lic to drive there. By the time I get there, my International DL will be expired from AAA. Your advice would be much appreciated. Wow, you’re driving internationally around Asia? I’m curious to hear those stories. Europe will be a breeze for you in comparison I’m sure. The IDP has to be the biggest scam going, you don’t test for it and it’s only good for one year when issued. We have never shown it since driving our car, but if renting a handful of countries require them Romania, Slovenia and Italy I’ve heard. We also had a person in a rental car going to Romania get asked for it in a rental car and they didn’t have one, they were eventually allowed in. We don’t go back to the US annually to replace them. There is an international company that does them by mail, I may try and do a video on these eventually. Regarding how to get a car without residency anywhere, Here are our Car setup videos:

      @WarrenJulieTravel Thank you for the info. When we are ready to leave for EU, I may hit you up for more advice in setting up Corp and buying a car. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to manage schengen 180 days. There seem to be enough countries in the eastern side of the EU to jump in & and out, but the UK seems to be the only viable option and not cheap to spend 90+days to reset the 180 days schengen shuffle. Until then, I will continue to enjoy your vlog. 🍻🍻

    Gnrl ?? What CC and strategy do you use for traveling outside the US. Yes, there is plenty of CC that have high rewards (points of cash back) for hotels, car rentals, and airfares regardless of where the flight is from/to, but for the rest of the expenses it doesn't work like in the US. No gas or grocery or Pharmacy or many of the other multipliers. Which card have you found that maximises those things??

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  4 месяца назад +1

      Chase Sapphire is our favorite credit card to use overseas, you do not have foreign transaction fees, and you don’t pay conversion rates.
      Earn 60,000 bonus points with either Chase Sapphire card. I can be rewarded if you apply here and are approved for the card.

      @@WarrenJulieTravel Thanks. I have the Amex plat and several others. Do well in the US with the multipliers on everything, but the moment I leave the US the best I can get for anything is 2% cash back outside of the airfare/hotel/car rental.

    Just trying to get your perspective, if someone is not into youtube and they do similar kind of traveling that you do, does it get boring at some point? After a certain point or number of years, what do you really do, just driving all over diff places without any objective. In this case, it looks like you have a purpose (may not be main) of making videos, so that keeps you active or refreshed. What is your opinion on this? Thanks.

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  5 месяцев назад +2

      Interesting perspective and question. If you don’t have one of the following, a wanderlust, a longing to explore and see around the corner, a love of history, an interest in cultures, the nomad life may not be right for you. Not everyone is meant to travel full time, some may still want to settle abroad but maybe not travel. We enjoy our time in Montenegro to see friends and add some of that stability in our lives. A hobby like RUclips does provide purpose though, which is why I started doing it.

    Always enjoy tour vids - and thanks for helping us get health insurance! One thing I don't think I heard mentioned was cost for things like sightseeing, admissions, tours, etc. Can you address that, please?

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  5 месяцев назад

      Those costs were included in miscellaneous, we rarely take professional tours. we normally drive ourselves to locations and explore, typically for a fraction of a professional tour. Sometimes we will do a walking tour which may just include a tip to the person providing the tour. The cost for these types of items are quite minor overall. Usually the cost to enter somewhere maybe anywhere from one dollar to $10 a person, for 2023 we may have had $150 in tourism type of cost. In 2024 in Sicily, this month we spent $30 for two of us in January, to go to the Siracusa Archeological park. In Italy, some of the sites are more expensive than you will see in other parts of the continent. There are many cool places to explore that cost absolutely nothing in most countries. When in Montenegro, they are now charging to go up the fortress when it is the Tourist season and ships are in. We have hiked it many times, and not paid a penny. There are also great hiking trails all over Montenegro to explore, one that goes directly behind the fortress is pretty awesome.

    Thanks for the video and sharing your travel costs. $2,900 per month for a couple traveling in Europe seems quite reasonable. Congratulations.
    I was recently in Cuenca, Ecuador. I met a couple who told me that there monthly spend is ~$1,500 as a couple. They don't own a car or travel like you guys. Instead, they pretty much stay in Cuenca, Ecuador and lead a comfortable lifestyle - furnished apartment, entertainment, restaurants, taxis and an odd trip back to the U.S.
