I live in Suffolk and had to go out today for 20 minutes...it was unbearable. To see those firefighters in full kit, in this heat, next to fires trying to put them out....all I can say is respect.

Even if someone started all these fires across the uk, just on the day where its been somewhat the hottest ever for the uk, dry weather still allows for fire to spread more. Even if someone started this fire even by just dropping a cig or a bottle, the dry surrounding from the heated environment acts as fields and fields of kindling with no damp ground or plants to help keep the flame down. I learnt this in MF fireman sam, cmon.

We had one up north last year and that was the largest so far but yet too small compared to the fires in europe. And I'm not talking about fires caused by an explosion in the gas pipeline, but fires like the case above. Some thing tells me this is either deliberate or sure shot negligence.
