Seems like you done pretty much everything to make it safer for high speeds.but I would definitely get ride of the crappy front wheels and put some go cart wheels on the front and get ride of them plastic bushings. Because you don't want to loose a front wheel at any speed.
i am going to work on that asap ! i need go kart wheels with high speed bearings !

Hey man I’ve been watching your videos for a little bit now and this older one popped up today. I was replaced to see someone else made a racing mower with the variable speed drive. My mower is complete besides new belts. I was curious if you still used the variable speed or just as a clutch. Thx great video btw

yeahhh it has alot more torque than i thought it would have !
In my yard, aboot 10' from in my shed, is the same early-mid 90s mtd yard etc. variable speed two belt tractor, stock and no deck, 15.5 b&s ohv. plan: it's getting a square tube and angle iron braced frame add-on lift, wheelbase stretch, and using a 1" straight keyed axle on flange bearings to lock the rear; with sprockets driving chains from the stock fnr trans to the lift axle. We can vary the output rate without overdriving the belts or transmission, and lock the drive without welding or disassembling and modifying the trans.. need a good drill/press and vise to make mounts to position the keyed axle anywhere it suits the build. I recommend this if any of you have the resources to finish and test it before I do! Stock belt lengths are 5/8 x 52.5" engine to cvt and 48" for the rear. Love the steering mods and unintended lockup 😅

Do the pulley swap on the transmission for my tractor and ill give you a complete mtd 12hp tractor with welded diff . Needs an idler pulley for the rear drive belt. Im in dorval if youre in the area

Also ur frame is in a little bit better shape(less rust in some spots).How much wiring did you have to do?(I had to pretty much rewire mine without safety switches and other electrical crap).
super simple wiring just push start kill switch and led bar so i just have 6 wires running along the frame
similar situation, im re-using a lot of the old wires. and is the transmission holding up upside down?
ive got a manual so ive gotta shift backwards. XD

I'm a little slow but what made it this speed? like was it changing the belt that unlocked its full potential? surely its not just the governor or whatever right? How do you get the full power out of the motar i feel stupid asking this but

yess removes all the free play in the steering
when i was a kid like 4 to 5 years old i was so afraid of my dads mower cuz of the sound it made but he sell it when i wasnt scared anymore sad + under the seat where the batttery is there was enormous spider yet i live in France and i got biten by one it wasnt a venimus one and before he sell it at my 12 yo i was getting fun drifting around with it
How does flipping the trans work that way won't everything go backwards
yeah so in order to go foward i put it in reverse haha its a 3 speed transmission foward neutral reverse so im not loosing any speed

How much did this cost you in total? Also do you use a key switch for ignition? I need help trying to figure out how to run wires for my ignition switch 😅
i got the mower for free and pretty much already had everything at home to build this ! only things i needed to buy is belts and pulleys cost me around 60$ and i have a push start button u get one side to the constant power side of the selenoid and the other side you ground somewhere on the frame

Not being funny I just got mine done after 2 whole fucking years now I worried about my gearbox doing that
the gear box seized but it was super easy to unseize !

cost me around 150$ total i simply swaped the pulleys for a faster gear ratio and i lowered the rear transaxle ! and thats it haha oh i also put a foot throttle and a full lenght exhaust

There's no way u do 50 on a lawn mower they're not made that way too short of a frame you wouldn't be able to hold it down on the road going that fast I don't think so I would have to see it before I would believe it
