Maybe they are ...but the core point being that a belt driven motor is going to induce vibrations, due to this inherent aspect of the design. Plus it is going to go taut after a few, because of wear and tear, which is going to build in lateral vibration, not to mention inefficiencies creeping in that will increase your electricity bill
I have a direct drive washing machine, it vibrates more than normal ones, it even moves around sometimes 90 degree, technician visited thrice, still cant figure out the fault. This kind of issue has been reported by many customers.

@@ishid_anfarded_king yes i did, it was a design fault with almost all lg front load machines. Earlier technician's always denied that its a fault despite watching the machine dance, now they are changing the gasket for all machines and it almost solved the issue.

First thing I noticed lol
That is the first thing I noticed when looking more closely at the belt driven display. The belt is "reversed" which with the smooth side of the belt being driven by the pulleys is prone to an "initial slip" upon start up. This would cause a jerk to the tub setting up an imbalance situation. But the way the tub continues to wobble is not right at all. Look closely at the tub's main pulley shaft, it is not "true". It is not perfectly straight which obviously would cause the tub to wobble based on the shaft not being straight. Also, there is no doubt their is a difference in the shock pressure for the belt driven tub, the gas pressure is different from the direct drive shocks.

LG DirectDrive motor can help prevent noise and vibration. They used magnets instead of noisy brushes to power the machine.

This model has the LG Inverter Direct Drive motor which is quieter, and more energy efficient, and a longer lasting than the LG smart inverter motor. Because it uses “frictionless magnets” instead of noisy brushes to power the machine, it is great for open plan living, so, you can use it any time of the day, even it is movie night.
Conventional washing machines have to rotate the drum in only one direction. New LG Inverter DD washing machine uses just the right amount of needed energy. New LG Centum System inverter has a damping system, vibration sensor and more to keep the drum balanced.
Industry is not inventing anything new. But taking so long to do this. This concept was already implemented in water motor pumps called mono block. Where the motor shaft and pump shaft are connected directly without belt mechanism.

Sir, apart from this shaking issue, does direct drive has any advantage in cloth cleaning process ? Internally the movement is same for direct drive and belt isn't it ? Please help
With direct-drive motors the manufacturers theoretically are able to alter the rotation speeds more flexible. But in reality, you won’t notice any difference when it comes to cleaning performance. Mechanics are only one factor during the washing process. Washing time, water temperature and the strength of the detergent are the other important factors.
That set up is on a sales floor, and no doubt designed to persuade potential customers to by the more expensive direct drive system, which is only a benefit when used for advanced control of the drum motion for specialty laundry items. My front loader is old and belt driven... never shook like that junk on the video, even with a load of bath towels.

I wanted the brand new LG Centum System with the same motor, damping system, vibration sensor and more.
There is too much of a difference between the 2 systems in this demonstration to be taken seriously. First of all, the first thing I noticed when looking more closely at the belt driven display is that the belt is reversed on the pulleys. The smooth side of the belt is driving the pulleys instead of the ribbed side and would cause an "initial slip" upon start up due to expected torque from the motor. This would cause a jerk to the tub setting up an imbalance situation. But the way the tub continues to wobble is not right at all, especially given that the few clothes in the tub are probably dry. Look closely at the tub's main pulley shaft, it is not "true". It is not perfectly straight which obviously would cause the tub to wobble based on the shaft not being straight. Also, there is no doubt there is a difference in the shock gas pressure for the belt driven tub, the gas pressure is different from the direct drive shocks.
The belt is seated correctly... the ribs help cool the belt. But... the set up is a sales tactic used to persuade customers to by the more expensive direct drive system... I’ve used a belt driven system for 20 years and it has never jumped around like the junk in the video.
The motor is attached to the assembly, which causes the imbalance. The motor is not attached on a washing machine in this way. Belt drive does not short out the main board when the seals leak as with DD. Main boards are not available as replacement parts because DD offer specific options for different vendors so they can price them higher and prevents price matching since the model numbers differ between vendors...a fucking scam, like this video. Of course they want to push DD because you'll have to buy a new one with the unavailable parts and high repair costs.

The direct drive is instead more inefficient in the long run as the weight of the clothes is likely to damage the ball bearings of the motor. The washing machine shop also advised against it even though it was costlier that it's not good in the long run and it risks damaging the whole drum instead of just the belt.
This is not true.... When Belt and Chain Driven Systems are involved. There is more wear and tear of parts. And for your information If Bearings are Gone. You can replace just bearings. Direct Drive Motor can be fully disassemble.
Direct Drive is Most Efficient and Future Technology. Today Everywhere Brushless DC Motors are used, AKA BLDC. Even Ceiling Fans are being replaced with BLDC Motors saves 40-60% Power Cost.
@@hacker6695 don't misguide people bldc is a different thing dd is a different thing. I have washing machine which has inverter bldc motor but connection to the drum is belt drive. First know basics properly before misguiding...

@@hacker6695 yes you are right BLDC is the future. To clear things up, permanent magnet brush less DC motor (BLDC) technology related to electric motor only it is applied to improve its performance to reduce power consumption. This motor can be connected directly to drum or by pully in case of washing machine. If connected directly will reduce frictional losses, noises etc it is energy efficient. BLDC motor connected via pully system will be less efficient as more frictional losses, wear & tear compared to directly connected system. In case of ACs the same BLDC motors are used we call them Inverter ACs. hope it helps.
@@avinashs.m3213 only LG is having patent technology and can use BLDC directly to Drum. All other companies use BLDC motor with belt. Just FYI, I am Embedded engineer who Design BLDC drivers. So just be relaxed..

If both motors (direct drive and belt drive) are brushless motors, there should be no difference in power consumption. If an universal motor is used, it consumes a negligible amount of more energy. As most energy is consumed by the heating element, the type of motor is practically irrelevant, at least in consumer washing machines. Of course, manufacturers will advertise their brushless motors as energy (and world) savers.

Manipulating Video I agree direct drive have less voice and vibration but the life of the machine is less than the belt drive machines. In Direct Drive whole pressure was on drum because of that alot of issues occurs. Plus it's very expensive .

Direct drive
The most affordable drive system is a belt drive with an universal motor - the system what has been in use for decades. The spare parts are relatively cheap and there are very little parts to be damaged.
Inverter motors need an extra inverter module (hence the name). The motor itself is rather maintenance-free in comparison to an universal motor, but the weak spot is the inverter module that often costs 300 dollars upwards and, after years, could be difficult to supply.
Direct-drive motors are most risky, as the motor is kind of proprietary (you cannot fit a direct-drive motor of brand A in a washing machine of brand B, and the motor arrangement can even change within a single brand) and prone to be damaged by water that can come through defective drum bearings. A motor not directly placed in the near of the bearings usually survives a bearing leakage.

I’ve been using LG front load direct drive WM since 15 years and there’s absolutely no problem at all. No noise, no vibrations and no wear and tear. The efficiency is high .

Easy and powerful drum rotation. No noise and vibration. Prevent fabric damage.
All brands that still use belt drive with 7Kg wash capacity, give a larger drum (machine depth 55cm plus) with 1200 rpm motor. But LG always gives a smaller drum (machine depth 44cm) and almost always maxes at 1000 rpm. Even their 1200 rpm motors have a smaller drum. Only their 8Kg+ models have larger drums with 1400 rpm. Looks like, their lower end motors can not compete with traditional belt drive motors.
After 9 years my LG Direct Drive washer shakes like crazy during the spinning process that the whole washer jumped everywhere. I replaced it with a Toshiba belt drive and let's see what happens after 9 years!
It doesn’t matter if a washing machine uses a conventional belt-drive or a direct-drive motor. The vibration dampers are there to avoid your machine to jump, and they often wear out after a few years. The above demonstration is technically totally misleading - as usually.

Only LG uses direct drive. Samsung uses q drive but it's not direct drive. Although I have to admit that the eco bubble technology is impressive.
My dad was stubborn about this lg crap I managd to get Samsung Eco bubble and let me tell you its smooth don't buy this it have 10 years warranty and the pressure of the drum will be on axle of Motor which will make noise after sometime go with belt there is a reason that all other companies use belt Don't fall for this crap i am loving my Samsung front load washer its amazing

Belt drive is very reliable, I owned 4 washing machines all using Belt driven motor and they never fail or malfunction, I merely replaced all washers as I have used each of them for many many years and really none were spoilt until I got sick of them due to long time usage and wanted a brand new washer again with newer functions & better loading capacity like 11, 12 or 14kg for family demands.
That is great to buy a LG washing machine with a brushless motor.
