And then at The Winner Takes It All they said it's a Cher song and I was internally screaming bc NO CHER SANG A COVER OF A BUNCH OF ABBA SONGS BC SHE WAY IN MAMMA MIA 2 ahahahhah. This was such a fun reaction! I thought it was so funny that you guys totally recognized the songs just not that they were from ABBA! This is probably the first time I’ve seen such a blind reaction to this movie and I loved it!
People keep pointing out one of the guys from ABBA making a cameo but I also wanted to note for y’all that Meryl Streep’s friend with the short hair was Molly Weasley in Harry Potter! Such an amazing cast of characters. The actors always rave about being in this movie and even admit they were pretty drunk for most of it, just having a blast.

Fun fact (that probably a billion people already told): Pierce Brosnan "signed on" to the movie not realizing he was supposed to sing or that the piece was a musical at all. His agent called him while he was preparing the burial of his step father. When he was told that Meryl Streep was on boards he agreed without asking for details or anything even. A few days later he
The bagpipe (in the scene after the argument on the morning of the wedding) shows the tartan of Brosnan's stepfather.

When Meryl Streep sang The winner takes it all she insisted on singing it live rather than pre recording it in a studio 🙂 that's why her singing isn't as crisp as it is in the rest of the film, she still sounded great though 😁 XxXxX

It's already probably been said, but this is a movie-version of the Theatre musical Mamma Mia, based on hits by the Swedish 70s pop group ABBA which was contributed by the male artists of the group, Benny Andersson and Bjørn Ulvaeus, who were the composers and they have cameos in the movie. (Man playing the piano in the boat and one of the Greek gods at the end) There is a sequel, Mamma Mia 2 Here We Go Again, which is not based on a stage musical but absolutely worth a watch!

I grew up listening to ABBA, so I was extremely excited to find out this existed. Of course I realize now that it's not a good movie, but I still rewatch it for the fun of it.

My mom used to play Mamma Mia all the time and she would dance to it. She's a good dancer. I sent my mom the part of the movie where Donna and Sophie sang slipping through my fingers on WhatsApp. And after a minute, there were tears in her eyes and she asked me, "Why did you send me this? Are you thinking you'll get married soon? You're only 15!" And I laughed so hard 😂 and I answered her that It's because I found our relationship is like this😊😊😊

24:20 the guy on the piano- that’s actually Benny Andersson, on of the members from ABBA, which the movie is based on :)
Benny helped with the production btw, especially with the singing

this movie is one of my favorites; it’s just so fun and colorful, how could you not like it lol. i’m so glad you recognized it’s structured like a Broadway musical, rather than a movie that has musical numbers if that makes any sense? i love musical theater and it would be so fun to see you react to some. there are professionally filmed versions out there. Hamilton is on Disney+, the original into the woods and Sunday in the park with George you can find on RUclips, to name a few. loved the collab ❤️

Now the 2 of you simply MUST react to the second movie, “Momma Mia! Here We Go Again”. It gives the 20-years-ago back story of Donna, her two best friends, & the 3 men in Donna’s life. And, since it also includes Cher (& more ABBA music), hard to beat.

If you want to hear Amanda Seyfried's vocals live just react to Les Misirable. That movie was all live vocals so some performances are a little rough, but she's amazing in it and a much deserved watch if you really like musicals.

I love this movie a lot lol. My family lives a few miles from the village this was filmed in and its really cool in person. the extras were villgers too and whenever i watch this i get a warm feeling because they seemed like they were having a lot of fun. They sunk the pier from the movie and you can still see it under the water.

Played keyboards in the pit of a production of the stage musical. So inventive how the writers, in collaboration with Benny and Bjorn (from ABBA) were able to take the ABBA catalog of music and piece together a whole show/plotline, based on the lyrics to all their music. While I'm a big fan of this movie, the sequel, Mamma Mia, Here We Go Again, is actually better than the original. I'd highly suggest a reaction video!

This movie is one of my all time faves, it always has me crying into my popcorn 😂 I remember going to the movies with my grandparents to see this movie. The theatre was packed and everyone was out there seats dancing and singing along to the music. By far my most rememberable trip to the movies, had a fantastic time and the atmosphere was electrifying. Loved it and love it still! Thank you for your reaction and you did very well with this collab. Keep up the great work, Nick! I look forward to your future reactions ❤️🥰

Now you need to see the second movie: "MAMA MIA - Here we go again". It is not as good as the first one, but it shows Donna´s (the moms) backstory and about Sophie´s (the daughters) future. It is quiet emotinal at the end but really good.
