I'd suggest taking the time to get the Ethiopian gold mines before fighting the Mamluks, it makes for a much better economy. Once you defeated the Mamluks it's probably best to take as much Egyptian land as possible, state it and culture flip to Egyptian right after forming Israel. The Levantine culture group is the third best after the German and Chinese and you are in an easy position to take advantage of that.
I'm new to EU4 and I am trying to follow your guide. I forgot to check scornful insult when insulting the vassals. Ethiopia beat back those attacking it, has built a bigger army than I can support, and I don't have the option of having Adol or any place supporting my independence. Also, before the truce expired my ruler had an heir that was significantly worse than he was, and very quickly took over the throne. Should I start over or is it salvageable? Also, what am I supposed to do with the merchants? I can only see one trade area to send a merchant to, and he can either steer trade which gives me 0.00 ducats, or collect from the node which gives around at least some positive ducats.
Hit mamluks when they are busy? That's a tough call. It seems like there is something in the code that makes mamluks ignore any AI enemy they are fighting against, and focus all their forces on the player. I have tried that trick with the Ottomans while the mamluks were fighting in Africa, the Mamluks let the africans ravage their land in order to concentrate all their forces against me. I tried again with mughals while the Mamluks were fighting the Ottomans. The Mamluks ignored the Ottomans and let them advance up until Egypt, so that they could send all their army to defend their precious territories that were next to me (lol). I even tried that with Vijayanagar, the Mamluks were fighting the Ottomans again. I mean I was not really surprised when the Mamluks pretended the Ottomans were not there, sent their entire army against me and valiantly managed to defend their provinces in Arabia. Too bad the Ottomans just marched, took their capital, forced them to lose most of the middle east and pay heavy tribute but hey... at least they did not lose to the player...
I waged war on the Mamluks but when I tried to take Jerusalem, Gaza and Jaffa, I couldn't because I got the message "Cannot select this province because Semien cannot make it a core". What did I do wrong?
It's a shame that semian and Israel don't get unique mission tree. Honestly after forming Israel and taking its ideas I formed Ethiopia for it's government reform, empire and better mission tree.

you make a lot of references to Rabbis here but Ethiopian jews didn't/don't have rabbis, they have Kahens, which are closer to priests.

Can someone tell me what im doing wrong? I played like 40 rounds waiting for someone to attack ethiopia and nothing happens for 3 years.
For the money problem, why not consolodate power in the Ethiopia region and gain access to the gold mines in Damot and Kaffa?
Try a Komnenos restoration, but instead of Rome, it’s Rum.
It takes a bit longer, but it's easier to get the gold mines south of Ethiopia first

You need to be within colonial range and have a land or sea connection

Formed israel and got the Achievement, i stayed with Semien ideas as they are better overall than the Israeli ones.
Why wouldn't you just go south and pick up the two gold mines in Damot and Kaffa? You wouldn't run into any money problems that way.
