I don't know why, but these Hot Wheels restoration vids are what the entire internet should be about. Nothing stupidly expensive. Pure innocent fun. This may be the hobby I've always searched for.
Blue pot scrubbers will do an even finer cleaning, especially after they are kind of worn out. I'v used them for many aluminium and zinc model parts. Love the way the channel is going!!!
Another great video. I like everything about zinc plating. Perfect music to zinc to and interesting pepsi challenge with the brass brush vs wool. Flawless paintjob and I couldn't even see the crack in the windshield after you had your way with it!
I would not have chosen hot pink, but once I saw the final product: fabulous! Beautiful! You do a great job with all of your restorations and you are very entertaining. I’m definitely subscribing.
You are my favorite channel to watch. You have given me lots of ideas for restoring and customizing several old Hot Wheels I've had since I was a little kid. Keep up the great work. Hopefully you will do some chrome ones soon. Even some custom chrome ones would be cool.
Thanks Drew, are we talking super chromes here? I have a Poison Pinto i've been wanting to do that is a Super Chrome but I wont be able to replicate the finish so I was thinking about making the green version like the recent kitty.
A Super Chrome Poison Pinto would be sweet. I think that would be extremely popular. Always been a fan of that casting. I have a mint red line one. Any Kittywould look pretty cool chromed. As for colors, I'm dying to see the windex blue.
That guy only exists to post hate on youtube, I checked out his channel. He's lost his speaking privileges. You can send him nasty messages here and he cant reply!
Amigo me hace acordar de mí niñez, yo pintaba mis carros con esmalte de uñas y mí madre peliaba conmigo porque no le duraban, gracias por traerme buenos recuerdos.
Great job on the vette. Love the pink. Can't wait for the seasider. I was thinking Gold would look good on it (and the seasider never came in gold). Purple would be a great choice too since that was a rare color for the seasider. Also, the white boat would pop against the purple.
This is the first time I have seen anything like this. I have some cars I had when I was a kid in the 60's that are a little rough and this is so cool.
Awesome,,,Great choice of colour last week I did a Matchbox Javelin,,,this week I'm doing the 72 Matchbox Mustang,,,got one in original yellow so doing this one Metallic blue as my friend had one for real here in the UK,,,Thanks for a great vid,,,wishing you and fellow subscribers a great Sunday,,,
As usual, an entertaining way to spend twenty minutes. Thank you! There is a company you might find very useful for your work that I can happily recommend: Micro-Mark. They sell a lot of good small scale tools. Hand tools and power tools. (I'm not associated with them except for being a long time customer.) You mentioned possibly getting a small drill press but the one you considered wasn't really small. They may have one better suited to your needs. Not especially cheap but, I think, good quality. Thanks again for sharing your efforts with us!
Man that corvette looks sweet, the blue windows, white interior and hot pink really makes it pop. Fantastic👍 Going custom on the bug you say? Def need some Real Riders on that bad boy, looking forward to it 😉
Wow, that turned out stellar with the pink. Nice work! Have you ever tried a two tone paint job? That hot pink would be really cool two toned fading into Windex blue, as an experiment. Think about it. Do it!
I picked blue, but it does look great in hot pink. The zinc finish came out flawless. The pink and white interior work good together even with the blue windshield
Good job, that pink reminds me of the Barbie Corvettes that would sit right next to the hot wheel and matchbox cars at Wally World as kid back in the 90's.
I've been meaning to ask you if you were tapping the body mounting posts off camera or if you were using self tapping screws, but you answered it in this video. I kinda like the hot pink on this. I wasn't too sure in the beginning, but I think it goes pretty well with the white interior.
Dip the window in a polyurethane based floor polish and let it dry under a cup. Baremetal did this and it turned out great, and made the cracks less visible. Love the hot pink!
I'll have to try that for emergency situations, id rather not have ANY cracked glass if possible on my cars but I realize they don't recreate all of them. Thanks Duke!
@@Duke_Togo_G13 , hey, how is your kind of work going? I didn't figure you for the gearhead type. I love hot pink and all pink vehicles as well, and woe be to anyone that uses LGBT slurs about myself liking pastel and rainbow colors. Anyway, you have good taste in vehicles. Personally, I would get an old 1972 or 1973 Nissan 2000GT-R, take out the engine, implant a modern Nissan VK engine, as in the engines that are put into the Nissan Titan, modify and improve it, the body, suspension, and all of its performance parts, and hope that I could achieve at least 1,000 HP/745.7 Kw, 1,000 ft lbs of torque, and around 270 MPH/434.523 KPH. Also, is it me, or does the 2008-present (2020) Dodge Challenger remind people a lot of the 1973 Nissan 2000GT-R? Seriously, you should put them together...they look a lot alike.
Nice job! A friend of mine has this car and it is a pale purple. I asked him about it and he got it with either a toothbrush or toothpaste at a grocery store as a child.
You've become my favourite restoration channel. Serious work, legit stuff! I never go thru the comments, do people really fuss about keeping everything original and about how you do things?? I mean, it's your project, your channel... you do whatever you want!
Well thank you very much! Once you start getting 20-30k views on a video there is just so many different opinions on every little thing that its just unavoidable I guess. Thanks for watching!
@@DiecastResurrection I didn't know that until after watching this restoration and doing some Google searches. I can't remember exactly which model it was, but I think it was the one where it had something like a pinwheel or "spinner" under the glass in back and you could blow on it to make it spin. I was born in '59, so it would have been from '64 or '65, somewhere in there. My brother claims that we still have them in storage somewhere. I can't remember all of the models we had, but I remember the El Dorado with the surfboards. Was it called the Diora? I remember that name. We had that one with the helmet and the Iron Cross, but I don't think it had the light interior. (Research from yesterday.) We had the Cobra and the Mongoose. We had one called the Beatnik Bandit. We had an ambulance. Next time I visit, I'm going to try to find them and at least take pics.
It turned out great, the car looks fantastic. I suppose it might be fun for you when all is said and done to figure out how much your labor has increased to value of your cars over what you paid for them plus your expenses. Anyway, have fun and I’m looking forward to the Seasider
I’ve been referred to as the dentist that is impossible to please as far as standard of care by former, substandard employees. You pass my test my friend! I think I’ve got a new hobby!
Using a pearlescent primer, would not only reduce the amount of imperfections you see, but it would also make that pink pop since it's transparent enough to see the pearl swirling under it.
This channel is brilliant! I never thought resurrecting old Hot Wheels could be soooo fun.
that little car was sooo happy, It got a second chance! We need more people like this!

In the most polite way possible..I never wanna know what this guy looks like his commentary is GOLD
I know right? I’ve had that feeling ruined before by seeing the “guy/girl”
I have never seen anyone restore Hotwheels. This is really cool.
You sould check out Baremetalhw, hes relly good at this
You have earned your name resurrection you bring them back to life, great job as usual.👌👍😆
Those customization restoration jobs are really well done. Looks like a fun hobby.
Sweet resurrection of that Hot Pink Corvette. Awesome work. 👍

That corvette was a super saaaweeeet restoration. Love the color. Really great job, die cast guy.!!!

Entertaining, educational and hilarious. More, more more!
More on the way!
Looks clean and sharp!
Beautiful job, came out sweet with the zinc plating.
No matter what colour you used, it looks great.
That looks bloody amazing! What a great mad colour. Perfect.

This guy is such a dork, just like myself. Your commentary makes the most monotonous parts of the process so entertaining.
Thanks Ben :D

Beautiful work !
Great job as always! That pink looked nice.

I hoped for purple but the outcome is nice! Purple spectraflame looks nice to me, hopefully you can do one in it one of these days
Excelente Trabajo 👌
Love the engine noises he makes after putting the wheels on. STILL A KID AT HEART!
Since when was the last time when anyone has ever sung and performed this song called: 'Oh Happy day?'
This also even has a lot to do with the happy days/heydays of the hot wheels.
Great job on the vette. Love the pink. Can't wait for the seasider. I was thinking Gold would look good on it (and the seasider never came in gold). Purple would be a great choice too since that was a rare color for the seasider. Also, the white boat would pop against the purple.
love your videos sir, found you today and found this whole hot wheels being customized and repaired
Welcome!!
Beautiful color, turned out really nice. I have always used brass brushes. Can't wait for the Seasider and another Volkswagen
Watched for the quality restoration. Subscribed for the awesome commentary. Love your videos!
Oh! And the Sylvania headlight restoration kit works great on clear plastics... just saying :-) LOVE the paint job!

Awesome job thanks for sharing bud 👍👍
I love the way it turned out as always. And thanks for picking my first choice color. Awesome job!!!!
Before you painted, i wished you'd pick purple that you wanted to do.
After you painted, i'm totally in favour of pink! It's just so fabulous!
Stunning, simply stunning.
For me this is the most entertaining media channel in the world today. You rule.
