OMG Carli, this issue is amazing. Everything in there is so beautiful. I just hope my tracing goes better this month. I'm sure it's hard enough to create this content and edit the videos, but would you consider increasing the brightness of them? Maybe it's just me, but I find them so dark. Thanks for considering it.
If you do decide to cut your stripe fabric on the bias to chevron the front of your dress, it might be a good idea to give yourself a little extra seam allowance on the sides for fit insurance. Sometime bias can need just a tad more width. I do think it would look lovely that way. As far as the dress for the wedding, I would encourage you to play around overlaying a scrap of the fabric on different colors. I've seem people use combinations that I would never have thought to try that ended up looking amazing. I also think the pleated shorts will look good on you and might even convert you to wearing them all the time as the wider legs are so much cooler to wear.
I totally failed the stripe chevron top, the v neck on the bias got very warped from me binding it incorrectly and unpicking it, for the dress version I cut it on grain and it turned out amazing!! I have also decided to try and remove some of the dye from to tule and am waiting on dye remover in the mail! Hopefully it works because I feel like the pink is just too pink.
I also have plans to make those shorts. They look so comfy. I am tired of tight shorts and I feel like I look smaller in shorts that have larger leg holes and more fabric drape.
Cut the shorts out today! look forward to seeing your version. They suggest 1.25m but if you're not doing the belt a metre will be more than enough. I think I got mine out of .75.
@@sewscape Mine were a complete fail. The crotch seam was way too low. I tried to raise but it was just too low and the fix was worse than the original. I made according to measurements and waist was about 3 inches too big as well. I was using remant fabric so not a complete waste. But one win was the zipper tutorial you linked too in one of your pants videos. Brilliant!
I panicked when I cut mine out as I should have cut 2 sizes bigger at the waist according to the measurements, but when I measured the pattern pieces I should have .75 inch of ease. Hopefully the crotch seam is ok but my fabric was also inexpensive. Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you!! I adjusted the brightness in my latest video and hopefully it’s better!

I totally agree! I feel like they will balance my silhouette better.

I just cut mine out a few days ago and am going to sew them up this afternoon! 😊
