    Really like following Swell reef. That is great water change set up. Had no idea that such a run was possible.

    Hi Ken.
    There is a lot more on the market since I had a Reef Aquarium untill the later part of 2011.
    Yet it is good to know, in case the possibility for me to have another Reef Aquarium arises.
    Like 34 is now up to say thankyou very much for sharing. 👍🏼🙂👍🏼❤️

    Hey Cam, wouldn’t the ato kick off every time the water change system takes water out? I would image it will take some time for it to fill back up with fresh salt water meaning the ato would be dripping freshwater while it takes time to drain and fill?

    Hello. I love your videos! I am got to go with the Kimora system. I also want to do the auto top of like you have. What pumps do you use for the auto top off system that runs from your shed to the tank???
    Thank you

      This tank has a Reef Factory doser (large) that moves RO water from the shed storage into the reservoir in the back of the aquarium. From there it flows into the sump as it evaporates (using a float valve that comes with the aquarium). Cam

    Great setup, looking to get back into the hobby myself but based in Sydney :( . With 2000L of salt water sitting in the tanks at 5L per day the salt water in the bottom of the 2nd tank wouldn't be used in over a year. Is there no decay in the quality of the saltwater over that period ? Apologies if a dumb question but had read via "Dr Google" that the salt water will only store up to a month but i love the idea of only mixing for water changes once a year :)

    It's incredible that that pump can pump water from such a distance and heights! I am wondering whether the aim of the water changes is to not need any two part system?? I guess the water change isn't able to keep up with the needs of the tank for alkalinity and calcium.

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  Год назад

      We still dose this tank as the SPS assimilate calcium and KH too quickly. If the tank was soft coral heavy the waterchanging may be sufficient without dosing. Cam

    Seriously, why didn't you run the piping in the roof cavity like all houses do with there water piping?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  3 месяца назад

      There was a concrete wall too thick to drill through. It was our first option but too much harder than running around the house. Cam

    Sorry this might be a dumb question but why did you cut a hole in the bottom of the sump? Could the pump not pump the waste water to a drain outside?

  • @dxfgful
    @dxfgful Год назад

    Using the RF Large pump, is refilling the ATO reservoir inside a manual task, or was that automated as well? If its automated, how did you manage to get the pump to turn on/off at certain levels?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  Год назад

      We manually fill the RO reservoir with the reef factory large doser. It never really occurred to me that we could automate it without risk of a flood. Cam

    How far can the fresh saltwater container be away??

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  Год назад

      I’ve never tried further than this, but my guess would be 50 meters (150 feet) or so. The main problem with additional length is that the water sits in the hose for longer. Cam

    What percentage of water do you generally aim for daily on a automatic water change system

    If they already running reef factory products why not stick with 2 large pumps for water changes, I’ve got 2 on mine doing 15 litre throughout the day. Work perfectly- I’d rather have everything all in one app

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  Год назад

      We could have done that. We do use the large reef factory doser for filling the RO reservoir. We went with the Kamoer mainly because it allows for ATO topup if we choose (but we haven’t). Cam
