Back when this first came out I played this for hours on end. In fact I still have my old NES and all of these classic Nintendo cartridges and still play them once in a while. When I was playing this I had to draw a large map to keep track of all of the areas...this game is huge and a lot of vertical passages and tons of hidden areas too...a very challenging game and a lot of fun...for those who don't get frustrated easily that is:)
My bro and I played it a lot back in the 80s. We were surprised back then to find out Samus was a girl the first time beating it. It is not like anyone had the Internet or anything.
The start of the franchise. We had never seen anything quite like it before... instead of levels you could wander around and backtrack all you wanted and literally find major items in the tiniest nooks. We went through so much graph paper making maps for this game and taping them to the wall and then Nintendo Power goes and prints maps (all that work we could have saved!). And that frickin' long password threw us for a loop at first.
Man, I remember how totally off the hook it was to get to that area where those huge energy tanks were, where it increased your max health by 100 or so. Good times! I used to get so lost in this game. Thanks for uploading!
Ah a classic. I absolutely loved this game. I kept going back to play it again and again even after I won it. Just like Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda, this game never gets old.
Believe or not I never played this game. I never even tried it. Just watching this video briefly, this seemed like a cool game. I would have liked it...
Zero Mission's story expands off of this one, sort of a retelling of the same story, with extra stuff tacked on after Mother Brain's defeat. Plus more items than this one had.
does the "nintoaster" only have an RF input like the original top loader? oh and ps if want to play without the suit use this password 000000 000020 000000 00002
somehow this game still gives me the chills. the music. the sound.
People from this era will never know how hard and fun games used to be,

Metroid... So ahead of it's time. Great memories with this game, really gave me that whole... "I'm in the game" feeling, even for 8-bit.

It is a masterpiece of a video game. Takes a very long time to play and master but you get passwords.

000000 000020
000000 00002
The top loader wasn't the original, the "toaster" model was.
I remember this! Ty
D
anyone playing this in 2016??!
posibly, Nobody.
cool music!
Should I waste all my Club Nintendo coins on this...
so question whats the difference between this one and Metroid: Zero Mission
In zero mission after mother brain's defeat, the game shows you what happens when you escape Tourain
Back then. Morphing into a ball ? Amazing. Now ... Uh. Ew, Go glob somewhere and on someone else. Inside joke. Eh, I got nowhere with this game.
those insects must live a really boring life. floating back forth or crawling around a ledge all day long.
