Nice job! Looks Good! Some drywall install tips.: 1. Always do ceiling first. The sides help support it and prevent cracking later. 2. Always land your seams on a Nailer to prevent cracking later in the finish (cut your first piece to split a Nailer then go). 3. Use glue on your Nailers if possible - fewer screws = faster finish. 4. If you ran the drywall panels sideways, you would have a lot less vertical taping and mudding to do - and mostly 1 horizontal tape at the waist level (Easy to finish). 5. Always leave a 1/2-inch space to the floor on the bottom for better run flooring or carpet (use some scrap drywall as temporary spacers then remove once installed).
it was a mistake to sheathe the container doors with drywall. This will work until the first heavy rain. That's right - moisture-resistant plywood or a groove-and-groove board treated with oil paint or nitroemal. Good luck, friend! Beautiful wife and wonderful children👍👌💪
I was also wondering why he put sheetrock on the doors. I mean, if you are in there, then the doors need to be open. So, unless it the thing is covered, you cannot use the room in the rain. I think he may not have thought that part through too well.
I would have carved out some channels in the foam and run conduit for electrical cables for lights and socket outlets before doing the plaster board. But looks great :)
I've always intended, if I were to build like this, to run the conduit and plumbing exposed. I've seen product from the UK that make the conduit quite beautiful. Really easy to repair or change without ripping it all apart.
For anyone else doing this insulation system, your'e supposed to have the drywall edges line up on the black plastic strips so the edges get screwed down and secured well to prevent cracks in your drywall taping/mudding.
Cheers to you! Mostly for your patience and tolerance of the comments! And just in case no one told you....um I think the ceiling goes up first or something 🤔 lol (totally kidding 😉) I'm sure Neil Peart and Jimi Hendrix still had to deal with someone saying to them "Hey man that was great! Although, if you played it like this instead......" I say a job that gets done is better than a job well done that has yet to be done! Get er done sir! great video!🙂
You should have installed a vapor barrier between the drywall and the polystyrene insulation. Big mistake, condensation will form between the polystyrene and the container exterior wall, mold and corrosion will appear.
Saludos amigo.
Amazing build so far! Would recommend you to have a ventilation fan. Atleast one to be placed above the sliding doors so the fumes from the products you use would not get trapped inside. That is if you're planning to keep the doors close while working.
I have been dealing with polystyrene since 1996 and I have doubts about combining it with metal (that polystyrene cannot be combined with wood, I have no doubts). The metal sheet from which the container is made can heat up in the sun up to 90'C (yes, I know, I'm from Europe ;P), while the melting point of polystyrene/styrofoam is about 80'C. What's more, heated polystyrene/styrofoam emits harmful chemical compounds. A better solution would be polyurethane foam (melting temperature 90-95'C), but the best material, although not having such good insulating properties, would be glass or rock wool.
Interesting video. How do the scews hold directly in the styropor? No wireing or plumbing?I'm not sure of the ventilation to avoid condensation and mold.Where should the water go to?I'm not sure if the styropor is directly on the metal that this is enough to prevent for a thermal bridge? At some certain point you get the dew point.Sorry for my English, I'm German.
I'm concerned there's a gap around the door behind the drywall that's not been insulated. You know, where you wedged the wood into place? Great build, fun to watch 👍🏻
Hola. Buen trabajo. Vi los videos. Excelente trabajo. Buen trabajo
When you're on vacation outside the house. A truck will arrive at night and load your house. No one from the police will even try to stop him. It's a regular truck with a container.
I was wondering what the plasterboard screws were going into to get a grip. Then realised it's those black bars on the polystyrene. Guess is so common now there's a market for companies to make bespoke insulation panels for it.
you should always hang the ceiling first. This way the wall panels support the edges. You should also have your 8 ft seams horizontal rather than vertical. no electrical??
Cool idea, would not recommend drywall on that exterior door swing, mold is going to kill it, perhaps durrock or pt? Also, I would recommend some boots my friend, watch out for stepping on screws in sandals
Interesting. I am curious why you didn’t plumb and wire it first… Also definitely needs a way to breath, humidity is going to build up and cause problems. Otherwise pretty simple build out.
@@vincentshapland7250 in a dryer climate ventilation should be fine. In a wetter climate they'll need a dehumidifier and air circulating between the insulation and the metal shell.
Great job Hanging drywall is a tough job. Why not make it a little easier and have it last longer by using drywall adhesive? It's a simple and inexpensive step to the installation. By applying glue for drywall to the studs or joists before installing the sheet, you cut down the need for screws in the field of the board.
i still can't figure out to where do the nails go and attach..the metal container? Anyway i think we can assume this project is for video purpose only, since given the amount of materials and efforts invested, it would actually be wiser to build an actual frame instead of the shipping container
Nooooo....when is part 5 out ...worse than waiting for peaky blinders last episodes 🤣 According to the comments it's gonna be a palace or a waterfall inside...I've got splinters on my backside sat on this fence🤣

Like a real man, working in his slops and bare feet. Don't need no safety boots! Great project btw!
Over the course of this build, this has been the best work with an exacto knife I've ever seen.
by far the most helpful video
Can't wait for the next part .,... You need a window bro ❤️
Great idea. Be careful if you ever load this thing up on a truck again because if it twists that dance front glass sliding door will likely crack
Any plans on adding a ventilation? if you are going to use this as office or such you'll need some fresh air
This is what I’m wondering too, same with electricity.
It’s for a shaping bay… go check the first video.
Wow, doing construction work in flip flops! Really brilliant!
Thanks God you don't need electricity in there!
Nice video! I learned something new, educational, and interesting
Nice work

Very impressive. Made a whole house just with a cutter.

Is there any ventilation at all? Besides the sliding door I mean..
Esta clase de videos deberian de estar mas largos😢

What will keep the drywall keep from getting wet with containers they usually get moisture inside on cold days
You could aways use moisture resistant drywall ?
Wanna see the next step!

Paint the drywall with an anti mould additive maybe an idea or zinnser permawhite keep mould at bay if no ventilation
you forgot to unscrew the floor and insulate it
What about the ventilation?
It's a torture chamber, you don't need it there.

Maybe a window?
It looks great, but it also looks airless. How does fresh air get to the back of the container?
I would furnish the interior as a little house
Those metal corners of container penetrating insulation will be a nightmare… 😮
Ótimo trabalho 👏👏👏

Otherwise pretty simple build out.
Agreed....I thought the same....still going to get off gassing as well!
No ventilation plus Styrofoam insulation applied directly to bare metal is going to end up with condensation and very quickly rampant mold problem.
@Jon agreed. Would ventilation alone solve this issue? Interested to see how ventilation is going to be considered.
@@vincentshapland7250 in a dryer climate ventilation should be fine. In a wetter climate they'll need a dehumidifier and air circulating between the insulation and the metal shell.
