Guy asked him if he had someone to help him get the car running mechanically and Chad hesitated and didn’t know how to answer. Makes me wonder if Nate is no longer working with him?
Oddly enough, in this instance, I believe it could be cheaper to restore this one than to customise it. Maybe change the engine and electrics and find a nice set of wheels, but stop at that point
I vote to restore this bad boy. Looks like it doesn't need much. Get engine running good, new paint job and clean up the inside. Thats all i would do to it.
Chat, Iron Trap Garage in PA has one of these under reconstruction. They also have many spare parts for the Cabralay and they might be someone to establish a relationship with. Iron Trap Garage is an early 1900s machine shop that is on RUclips. Matt is the gentleman's name. I watch them on Sunday mornings and during the week when they have new content to share. Good luck my friend on making this garage find a success for you and Jolene.
Chad, Jolene, & Fina, congratulations on your purchase of the car! I am excited for you guys especially for being a dream car for Chad! If you want to save the flathead pull the plugs and if you guys have Marvel Mystery oil in Canada dump some in each cylinder and let it sit for a day and then try to break it loose by hand. Jolene thank you for another great video and for taking us along! I hope he found the key for you! Fina was sure enjoying rolling in something in the grass across the street! I hope she did not smell to bad on the way back home! I have found that most dogs roll on their back like that when it smells nice and stinky!🐕🦺🦮🐕🤣
Its his car. If it were mine, I'd get the flathead running, update the brakes, exhaust and go over the wiring. It took 90 years to look like that. I would do as little as possible. Fix rust holes, color match and blend the Large missing paint areas. Polish the car and drive it.
Hey Chad & Jolene- What an awesome find. I'm a kustomizer for sure, but I hope the only cutting that happens on this Cabriolet is patch panel rust repair. Motorboat the stance, slap on skirts and Appletons and drive it. Please reconsider the sbc. It's got a fresh flatmotor in it, Getcha some flattie speed equipment for it and it's a perfectly period-correct early hotrod. Super-legit.
I would love to see Chad restore this one but I am not the one spending money or doing the work. Absolutely beautiful car, such history and you working your ass off gives you the opportunity to get it.
That flathead engine has a lot of racing parts available: high compression finned aluminum heads, 3 duece stromberg intake manifold, hotter spark coils, thicker radiator for cooling, get it rebalanced for higher rpm.
The v8 will probably start and run I would be willing to bet. I think fender well wheel covers will look very classy. Come on people Chad will do it justuce I have complete faith in him. There are quite a lot of these restored to original. I think Chad will do a great job. Lots of people do put chevy 350s in them but I think the original ford v8 is pretty hot roding cool. Iron Trap garage puts blowers and make Ardins out them too. A guy could spot that paint in. Tires still look perfect. Yep that guys truck is very cute.
Chad I used to have coveralls in the trunk of my car or truck just in case I was going to comb the wrecking yard or if I knew I had to crawl under my vehicle dirt what not One of my older brothers was capping on me because I put my coveralls on before going in the wrecking yard. He asked why? Was I putting on my coveralls ? I looked at him that's a dumb question. I said because climbing in and out of those dusty dirty vehicles my clothes get dirty. When my older brother got out the wrecking yard he his clothes were dirty dusty. Now he understood why. I just pulled my coveralls off and tuck them away back in the trunk for the next time I got dirty. I painted and used them for year's. I retired them now they hang up like a art exhibit to look at. My other set of coveralls I gave to my nephew when he got his first car. A good pair of coveralls are not cheap. Especially if you get a pair that are lined for the Winter time. knee padded they have many different types depending on what your going to use them for/ industry's.
Derek called Paul Sheiin to get his flathead going. Derek is NOT a flathead guy. Steve from Iron Trap Garage could get that flathead running in no time. Of course none of them would waste time helping Chad. They have lots to do already.
Chad l have always deemed it better to be completely honest with you and l think that it's time for you to listen sometimes to the majority. None of us are disputing your creative skills and ability to turn basically scrap metal into beautiful automotive works of art but this vehicle would be absolutely stunning and a very rare example if you restored it properly and put it back on the road although l would agree that a more modern engine would be a practical solution to making it reliable, if of course you intend keeping it. On the other hand if you don't intend keeping it l would simply let Nate have a free hand in using his expertise to make it mechanically perfect while keeping it basically original. Please Chad it would be a crying shame NOT to fully restore the entire car, both bodily and mechanically
I would not restore it to undrivable Quality ... Just fix the rust & paint a B or C paint job .... Small Block chevy & make it a fun Driver & enjoy it ... BTW Keep the wheels ... Black with a tan Gut ...
Chad + Jolene, follow your dreams do that car your way! There are car collections all over the world with full resto 34 Fords! The cost of a museum quality resto on that one could easily run 100 K. For all those who say restore it send Chad $500 and he may be able to give it a shot. Otherwise sit back and enjoy Chad's custom build!
Jolene you and Chad should do a black and white video in this car like you guys was back in time like 1930s get the clothes and every thing that would be super cool pull out of the shop and go for a drive on a summer day all black and white like the old days love this car
Hell yeah! I'm sure they could pull off a pretty authentic Bonnie and Clyde look with little effort. Just hope they dont go to Texas ,Oklahoma , Missouri, Arkansas, or Louisiana in that getup..
Chad, yes its your car now to do what you please to it, BUT PLEASE SPARE THIS ONE, to leave it UNMOLESTED PURE BONE STOCK, to just very simply get it running to enjoy driving it just the way it presently is, as a car like this deserves it, there are more chopped hot rodded versions of these cars out there today, so keeping this original would be FAR more RARE & EXTREMELY APPRECIATIVE to see!
if you put a bit of oil on your ratchet straps Chad they will work much better. and i see your licences plate is bending from being to low, the best place for the plate is on your trailor fender with a light over it.
Why is everyone screaming restore it?? Do you not watch this channel and know what Chad is famous for? He does not spend the money it takes to restore vehicles nor is he interested. He buys to customize them like he likes for as cheap and fast as he can.
He’s famous for ruining them lol. That old man was warned to basically stay away from Chad when he spoke of selling the car, other builders know that car is doomed now.
Make a nice runner out of it Nice minimal restore Is rebuilt over new interior New TOP fix the Paint A nice refresh Car would be worth some serious money then
Restore to Original, that's where you will widen the purchase audience
restore it to its original no chopping please
Chad will tell you he doesn’t restore vehicles. He buys them to customize like he likes.
@@ericbarlow5508 please Chad not this one
For the love of car gods, restore it.
Please respect the craftsmen that created this beauty. You're lucky to have gotten it
Congrats!

Pretty sure he can find a mechanic if Nate's unavailable.
@@howquickHis history keeping people are bad look back to where he started, even his own kid couldn't deal with him.
I noticed the same thing ! Looks like Nate may be history.
Was thinking the same thing.
@@DavidSmith-zv7oq Yes so true your right his own son wants nothing to do with Chad doesn't that sort of tell you something about Chad's character?

RESTORE IT!
He doesn't have the talent
@@DavidSmith-zv7oq How do you know that?

@joh5643 Have you ever seen him restore only thing, all he does is chop stuff up and not mechanically incine.
Not talented enough to restore..his talents lie in custom
Restore it, I have seen them go for a hundred thousand restored and custom only about forty thousand and less
What I'd do personally is byild a custom chassis for it and put a more modern engine and just make a killer enjoyable car
I vote to restore this bad boy. Looks like it doesn't need much. Get engine running good, new paint job and clean up the inside. Thats all i would do to it.
Great stuff Chad a nice little car good for you🤠 restore it new paint and keep it😎
He'd be over his head
Have Chip Foose wax it and bring it back to original !
look in ashtray for keys
Nice buy , don’t f with it.
He will
I’m thinking Nate his history also.. Too bad he’s a hell of a wrenches..
Make an ice cream truck out of it , or maybe turn it into a station wagon
Maybe you can make it look like a Volvo?
I vote you restore it to original specs. It's your car though, so it's up to you, obviously.
Do a bad Chad custom on it! Weld the doors shut and get rid of the windshield wipers and heater. Definitely put wacky suspension under it. Can't wait.
Please don't ruin this one.
it will be bare metal and shorter by the weekend... watch n see.
Lol
He will
Fina is sure enjoying herself .
Such a beautiful car the way it is. My suggestion would be to restore it.

Iron Trap is awesome. I don't think this car needs parts, but Steve would have this flathead running in no time.
Paul Sheiin is a flathead guru.
The question of whether or not Chad had someone to help get the motor running was
A bit close to home. Lol
You don't deserve to have it if you are going to do something bad to it
