Chad, PLEASE PLEASE dont chop this to pieces!! The world has quite enough chopped up old Ford body hot rods! You will get WAY more respect if you restore this one.
He says he only wants to put Chevy headlights on it and take the louvers out of the hood, and chop the windshield but give him a week or two... He just absolutely doesn't get it that the originality of this 90 year old car that has never been owned by a bloke of Chad limited mentality is why it has the perceived value that it does. He doesn't get that any of his usual antics will only detract from it's current value. Wanna do something positive? Find a new guy that has some mechanical knowledge and get it running and operational without updating or changing every thing you touch. 90 years of preservation out the window! Apologies to the previous care takers of the amazing piece of history.
I vote to restore this bad boy. Looks like it doesn't need much. Get engine running good, new paint job and clean up the inside. Thats all i would do to it.
Yes!!!! It is almost there!! Putting a chevy engine in this is a sacrilege! This is not the base for some custom hot rod. You can maintain an era in history. This car can easily revive a bygone era. Certainly a good investment. Better than a gold bar. What can I say? Do you care??
@Davey-Drums if it was your car you can make that comment, plain and simply he can do whatever he likes with it and it will be every bit as special to him. and good for him.
Chad....PLEASE, PLEASE do not chop this up,! The world has enough old Ford hot rods but this car you've just bought is old and RARE. TAKE CARE OF THIS VEHICLE!
Oddly enough, in this instance, I believe it could be cheaper to restore this one than to customise it. Maybe change the engine and electrics and find a nice set of wheels, but stop at that point
Guy asked him if he had someone to help him get the car running mechanically and Chad hesitated and didn’t know how to answer. Makes me wonder if Nate is no longer working with him?
Greetings from America! (Columbus, Ohio)...Beautiful car!.....90 year old car looks great as is. This 70 year old man, is thrilled to see that old gal. Original paint is appealing. I 2nd the vote to keep her original. Best regards.
Chat, Iron Trap Garage in PA has one of these under reconstruction. They also have many spare parts for the Cabralay and they might be someone to establish a relationship with. Good luck my friend on making this garage find a success for you and Jolene.

I had no where to eke it at the time and my own projects on the go! Wayne did an amazing restoration she was bute. Be a great next care giver to this beautiful relic. NMJ Fort Erie ON.
I would love to see Chad restore this one but I am not the one spending money or doing the work. Absolutely beautiful car, such history and you working your ass off gives you the opportunity to get it.
@@garylivingston9052you make a very good point, it's also the loss of people who know how to service them and maintain an original. most people today don't lift the hood unless it won't start.
As far as early Fords go, the 34, especially is one of the car classic works of art...there's not a lot left like this one.I'd strongly suggest ,Chad, don't mess with this one except to a decent level of restoration Think of driving around your area, top down on many beautiful future summers.Something tells me good ol Ron is hoping you respect this car!
Why is everyone screaming restore it?? Do you not watch this channel and know what Chad is famous for? He does not spend the money it takes to restore vehicles nor is he interested. He buys to customize them like he likes for as cheap and fast as he can.
He’s famous for ruining them lol. That old man was warned to basically stay away from Chad when he spoke of selling the car, other builders know that car is doomed now.
I hope this car wibe restored to its original beauty. Some cars need to be preserved as an original for forthcoming generations to admire its appeal. These are rare cars, don't chop it, you will ruin it. Not everything needs to be chopped. I hope you see sense in the many comments posted. Don't give that line it's my car, my way etc. You are a better man than that.
Hey Chad & Jolene- What an awesome find. I'm a kustomizer for sure, but I hope the only cutting that happens on this Cabriolet is patch panel rust repair. Motorboat the stance, slap on skirts and Appletons and drive it. Please reconsider the sbc. It's got a fresh flatmotor in it, Getcha some flattie speed equipment for it and it's a perfectly period-correct early hotrod. Super-legit.
Derek called Paul Sheiin to get his flathead going. Derek is NOT a flathead guy. Steve from Iron Trap Garage could get that flathead running in no time. Of course none of them would waste time helping Chad. They have lots to do already.
48:26 Keep it stock nice car, just clean it up, try polishing, if it shines up, get spots where paint needs fixing and match up. Your a great metel worker but this one needs to stay stock, just a opinion, every one has one. Looks like a keeper.
I would not restore it to undrivable Quality ... Just fix the rust & paint a B or C paint job .... Small Block chevy & make it a fun Driver & enjoy it ... BTW Keep the wheels ... Black with a tan Gut ...
That's a very cool car, Chad. Congrats on the purchase. For what it's worth, though, I also vote "no" on the SBC conversion. I personally believe it would be a nice change for you to revive the car to as original as possible. If it has a '36 flathead in it, no big deal...maybe even dual carbs or whatever to get it up to 100hp to make the car more practical...but a SBC?? You become like a million other car people when you do that. No offense intended, just my opinion. Whatever you decide to do...congrats again on the cool old Ford.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS MAGNIFICENT PURCHASE CHAD WHAT A BEAUT I'M STILL LOOKING FOR A 32 MYSELF BUT GOOD FOR YOU BROTHER YEAH KEEP IT ORIGINAL PLEASE 😢
Make a nice runner out of it Nice minimal restore Is rebuilt over new interior New TOP fix the Paint A nice refresh Car would be worth some serious money then
I'd remove the plugs and squirt some Seafoam in each cylinder and leave it set overnight! Then slowly work it loose! We did that to a 350 Chevy motor and freed it up totally!
That flathead engine has a lot of racing parts available: high compression finned aluminum heads, 3 duece stromberg intake manifold, hotter spark coils, thicker radiator for cooling, get it rebalanced for higher rpm.
Its his car. If it were mine, I'd get the flathead running, update the brakes, exhaust and go over the wiring. It took 90 years to look like that. I would do as little as possible. Fix rust holes, color match and blend the Large missing paint areas. Polish the car and drive it.
I agree with everyone else do not chop it up keep it all original the value will be so much more. Not to mention you will be preserving a piece of history.
