I have a four foot fence with a rottie and German shorthair, they don't KNOW it is short enough for them to jump so it is just fine, they will occasionally try to tunnel out (led the ring leader Chihuahua tunnel engineer), but have never tried to go OVER.

But another couple of hikers came up yelling there was a deer, and my dad forgetting danes are really big dog was excited to see the deer. He wanted to see how our dane would react to the deer, when it struck him they where talking about our dog. They were to shocked to comprehend because after he told them they just walked off. Not saying a word.
Yes 🤣 because they are Gentle Giants ❤ I live in Chicago, Ukrainian Village and people all over be having them and walking them around so yeah is ok 😊 plus you have to put insurance on your dogs regardless 😉
They are NOT horses. They are Great Danes. One of the tallest breeds of dogs. There were 3 different breeds of dog to get the Great Dane breed.. Many Centuries ago they were bred to hunt boars & guard. They are actually originated in Germany. If you don't believe me, I can only imagine that you don't. Read up on them and their history!!
I would love to live next to those beautiful dogs. Instead, there are three cats who dig the gravel on my drive, then use both the front and back garden for their toilet needs. Lol
They are a wonderful breed, they are loyal, loving, gentle yet very powerful. I've had Great Danes my whole life and I have one male now about 170 lb and he's the love of my life. They do not live long usually around 8 years old -
Lol that fence is more of a suggestion not to leave the area. Seeing as they are taller. I was walking to my grandmothers house one day and was passing this yard with that i could only assume was a young horse running towards me. I panicked and froze with my eyes closed as my life flashed before me. When i opened my eyes to a great dane standing flat footed licking my face with a genuine look of concern. Sweetest thing i have ever experienced.
Those dogs stay there because they want to, they can easily get out

That’s what I love about mine, big, goofy, slobbering grown pups, GD’s never grow up. They must be taught as pups not to jump on humans.
