I can't read Japanese (anymore at least, I took the class in high school, 10 years ago or so...) but why does it sound so much like sailor moon (unless it is and the kind of untuned screechy offness of it is putting me off... but why would someone make a player reel for a self playing violin made in USA in the early 1800s 😭😅)

普通に「自動演奏ヴァイオリン」ですね。機種の名前で言えば「ミルズ・ヴィオラノ・ヴァチュオーソ」という名前でミルズノヴェルティという会社が製作したものです。
これ以外にも自動演奏ヴァイオリンは作られています。
