    I just wanted to thank you for the work you've done on all your X-Wing TMG reviews and lists. As a newer player with a limited budget they have been invaluable in helping me decide what to buy and what to wait to buy. Great job.

    I was not planning on getting any of these, but you made them sound more appealing. My best friend tends to rely on the bigger, more expensive TIE type ships so it would be interesting to attack him with a swarm of low cost rebel ships.

      Turns out it's basically a less maneuverable TIE there can't dodge but can carry a missile that will miss it's targrt...

    I love how in the Cracken art they include the socket housing.

    I'd love an expansion called "clone wars veterans" that includes this, a y-wing and the upcoming arc-170 (the z95 and y-wing were featured in the clone wars tv series)

      @thecardboarddungeon8770  8 лет назад +1

      From what I've seen, the ARC-170 doesn't need any help, and I think the Z-95 is in a good place also. I'd like to see some new Rebel Y-Wing content though.

    That Decoy card, very fitting that it uses the cover of X-Wing Solo Command for the art. Love the nods to the EU in this game!

      Elwyn Chow Ha ha yep! I didn't even think about that! Sometimes Han shoots last, but only if he wants to.

    Hey!
    Awesome reviews and builds. I'm glad I found your channel.
    Question, though. Do you think you could review the S&V version of the Z-95? I'm interested in seeing the differences in play style.
    Again, great videos. I appreciate the info!

      Adam Miller You can see all of the Scum Z-95 pilots and their abilities in our Most Wanted Part 2 video. I imagine that I'll probably have a Scum Z-95 ship-building video sometime in the future as well.

    I know this is old, but man, Blount + Advanced Homing missiles can make for some very sad elite pilots. No need to roll for damage at all, and with a direct hit, it aces Corran and Whisper and strips stealth from Soontir. And you still have the thing flying afterwards.

    • @thecardboarddungeon8770
      @thecardboarddungeon8770  9 лет назад +1

      Wreqt Yeah, Blount plus Advanced Homing Missiles is definitely great. As you say, a decent chance of one-shotting E-Wings or Phantoms regardless of their defense rolls is certainly awesome.

    I . . . don't recall Z-95s being used in X-Wing, maybe the later games in that series. I remember playing TIE Fighter and shooting them down fairly regularly. I remember being allowed to choose to fly them sometimes in X-Wing vs TIE Fighter.
    Oh, as for the board game - I really want to get this and play it. However nobody I know wants to play it, it seems a bit expensive to get and then have to go outside my circle of friends to play, and . . . I expect outside my circle of friends my newbie behind is primarily only to be used for target practice.

      @thecardboarddungeon8770  9 лет назад

      kereminde Hmm... it's entirely possibly that my aging mind is mis-remembering X-Wing as well. I thought for sure you flew a Z-95 in the tutorial of that game. Maybe I'm thinking of X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, though - I forgot about that one!

    • @kereminde
      @kereminde 9 лет назад

      XvT would still let you use other ships though, except I believe in "Balance of Power" where the missions were largely about building up supply in a new sector as the Rebels. (Or cutting them off as the Imperials.)

      +The Cardboard Dungeon : The Z-95 was introduced in TIE Fighter as an easy enemy. It was absent in the original X-Wing and its expansions. If I remember corectly there was a mission in X-Wing Alliance and some in XvT, that put you in Z-95s. But it was more of a special mission than a progression.

    Another slick thing about Blount is that he hoses Stealth Device.

    • @thecardboarddungeon8770

      Knightstruth Yep! I thought I made mention of that in the video but maybe I only thought I did.

    Another professional review congratulations! I hope the people that made the game is paying you for this service you deserve it. Have you reviewed the Moldy Crow? I loved that ship since it appeared in PS2 Dark Forces and the game Jedi Knight.

    How do people have the nerv to say the Arc-170 was the predecessor to the T-65 X-wing and not the Z-95 Headhunter SMH look @0:56 like come on its the same ship just with another set of wings and an updated cockpit

    AAAHHHHHH...The PC game X-wing. I to spent many hours playing the game. I can say it is the only game I finished and replayed many times over. I earned so many medals in that game. Know that I think about it, for a computer running a 100 MHz processor with only 4 megs of ram...it was an incredibly sophisticated space sim. Some of those missions were quite intense. Thanks for 300 x 200 graphics settings memory. ~S~

    It's a shame Z-95 Headhunters can't equip cannons. Can you imagine Blount with an ion cannon?

      And in a counterpoint, with a card that's included in the set, imagine Blount with the (wasted) Munitions Failsafe...

    Z-95s are quite nice. They are dirty cheap in points. Great thing to have them in Rebels or Scum....
    On the other hand I simply prefer TIEs, just because of 3 agility points vs 2 on Z-95. Buuut .... Z-95 have access to rockets ...
    Damn, I will need to buy them all :P

    • @thecardboarddungeon8770
      @thecardboarddungeon8770  9 лет назад

      AirsoftAddicted I like TIEs too, but having shields does tend to make Z-95s stay alive longer

    • @AirsoftAddicted
      @AirsoftAddicted 9 лет назад

      The Cardboard Dungeon 1 Agility advantage on TIE is a better chance of survival than 2 shields and one hull less (3 HP vs 2 HP/2S) on Z-95s. Not to mention the maneuvers advantage on TIE. I feel both ships priced really well (in points)
      Both ships are great, iconic and worth playing :)

    How good of a chance would a skilled Z 95 pilot have against a decent x wing pilot in an actual dogfight?

    • @thecardboarddungeon8770
      @thecardboarddungeon8770  9 лет назад +1

      +Tripp Fields - Not much. They have about the same maneuvers, so they couldn't do much tricky flying; if it came to jousting the X-Wing has every advantage. But anything can happen in X-Wing.

    • @trippfields973
      @trippfields973 9 лет назад

      The Cardboard Dungeon Well i meant in the SW universe. Not exactly the game itself.

    • @Talon3000
      @Talon3000 9 лет назад

      +Tripp Fields Same thing. The X-wing is the superior craft in every respect.
      But still..in a dogfight experience is a huge bonus.

    • @thecardboarddungeon8770
      @thecardboarddungeon8770  9 лет назад +1

      All things being equal (combat experience, piloting skill) I'd say that an X-Wing should be winning most dogfights against a Z-95. The X-Wing is the successor to the Z-95 after all. It's kind of like asking which car would win a race, a Ford model T or a Ford Mustang. There are years of engineering and technical advancements in the Mustang that should all but guarantee that it would win.

    • @trippfields973
      @trippfields973 9 лет назад

      The Cardboard Dungeon Except we are assuming that the Headhunter pilot is a skilled veteran, with a sizable advantage in experience. That matters allot 2.

    FFG could use better researchers. Airen Cracken is an intelligence agent. It's his son Pash Cracken who is the starfighter pilot.
