My momma loves you to bits, she came to visit me to have surgery and recoup. I watched your latest video from July, she asked to watch it as well and she thinks you are a sweetheart. She started power watching all of your videos and cried when she watched “ Your miracle “. My mom took care of folks like your beautiful wife her entire life, she’s retired now but still misses them. You have a new diehard fan.

This is the way the women in my neighborhood made Salisbury Steak, when I was a kid back in the 1950s...every one used the same recipe ,with individual tweaks...so good! Thanks for sharing the video, John

This is about the best version of Salisbury steak that I have ever seen. I will be making this very soon. I wish that you made a printed recipe for this dish. I keep watching, pausing and writing down the recipe, but it's worth it. I really think a cookbook is in order here. Your recipes are classic and from the heart. And very delicious I might add. Thanks for sharing.

Man...my mouth is watering!!! Now I've got to make it. I'm glad to see that you made it with tomato instead of just the beef gravy that most places try to pass off as salsbury steak. This is the type I grew up with. Much Love!

Great recipe, thanks for sharing. I like the idea to start with the onion gravy, because the longer the onions cook, the better the gravy gets. And I like your way of caramelizing the onions. However, I would have pan fried the patties (I like the roasting flavour) and then put them into the gravy and leave them there on a very low heat for another 10 - 20 minutes before serving. That's the advantage of youtube, you can actually combine several recipes.

It looks awesome! I've got some ground beef and plain ground pork thawing out and it looks like this is what I'm gonna use it for(: I might make my gravy a little thicker by adding a little bit of corn starch (1tsp for how much I'll make, 1tbs for how much you make) just to make it easier to go over potatoes. Can't wait to try it!

Hey John the Salisbury steak version you made looks good! I'm wondering if you've ever eaten black bear meat? I'm making shepherds pie with three pounds of ground black bear along with a Pound of bacon cooked crispy and crumbled into the bear meat, then a brown onion gravy over the ground meat, then a layer of corn, and then a layer of mashed potatoes bake in the oven on 350 for about an hour. I think your beefy onion gravy is the way I make mine too. I add a little more cornstarch to mine as we like a thicker gravy. But I was just wondering if you've ever eaten bear? And if so did you like it? I love it as this is the third young black bear average age is about two or three years, the two year olds a the best I've found for flavor and tenderness. Well thank you for sharing and God bless.
