Something many people ignore, is that Lara has Italian relatives from Sicily and she actually grew up and studied in Italy. So, her Italian is not simply very good, is actually mother tongue!
You really feel it, that's Lara, always captivates me... And that breath, you get chills just from that, she's number 1 on my list and then few places empty :)
Thanks for posting this "classic". EVERY Italian knows this song It's almost their National Anthem. :) I do love this song and it was intended to be sung by a tenor and Pavarotti is the best IMHO. But I must say I love Lara's rendition even more. She has the ability to sing "live" and grab the audience and bring them into the song. Tirallala has provided the "words in english" and that helps bunches for those of us that are language challenged. 😀

Lara Fabian could have been a superstar worldwide (and in the USA in particular), she confessed recently in Canada where she lives, the reason why she didn't make it in the USA. At the time, she and Céline Dion had the same music company (Sony), Céline was already a star in America, when Lara had just arrived. Lara revealed that Céline Dion's team (not Céline herself) did everything to sink her/sabotage her career as Lara had the whole package to also become an immense star in America, and worldwide. The music company didn't want another huge voice to compete with Céline's, and instead of supporting her, of supporting her style of music/songs (such as 'Love by Grace'), Lara was forced to leave it for another company and forced to change her professional team. As a result, it was all over, the other company formated Lara to make her sing pop songs such as "I will love again", a style of music/songs for which Lara and her stunning voice weren't made for, they also wanted her to lose 20 kilos and asked her to go blond. Such a waste, as she should be as famous and successful as Céline or Mariah Carey today.

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life.

Omg you have to react to “je suis malade” by Lara Fabian ! There’s a version with English subtitles and it is insane (I would even say better then this performance)
May I recommend Luciano Pavarotti and Lucio Dalla (who wrote the song Caruso)'s live performance (Pavarotti and friends).
Have you guys heard Lara perform "Love by grace" at the Juno awards 2001, her voice is untouchable.
She's five seconds into the song and you pause it. Nope, thanks. Moving on to the next video.

I like to see this enthusiasm, but I have to make a strong criticism, you could have enjoyed a work of art, but it was not done, you could enjoy the sense of the song, the carefully weighed words and the music, and also the pauses, the breath of pain, love. Don't you feel pausing in the middle of musical phrase is disrespectful for the artist, just for your pride and self-esteem ? If you are a musician, you can hear when a music can be paused or not, do you ?
So cool but those pauses are not always necessary because you guys repeat the same thing most of the time. She's a great singer, a talented artist, a story teller, we all got that. Maybe one break will be nice guys because just when she gets us you stop the video to react. I understand that you want to react and do the talking all along but it's just annoying sometimes. It's just my point of view! Thank you
