You just discovered the idol of Dimash, who was inspired by her in the way he build and deliver the songs. He has covered several of her songs, she connected him to Igor Krutoy and even wrote a song for him.
She is also the inspiration or big influence for so many orher great artists from the new generation (eg Diana Ankudinova ).
I will post a separate comment on Lara, her background , career and the covers from her songs by the new generation of vocalists.
And also some details about this song Caruso.
I really loved your comments on the rythmn of the song: her ability to switch between speaking and singing in the same breath creates this unique remarkable pace and she adds on this with her long sustained final notes.
This concert was from 1999. It was packed with a long list of epic performances masterpieces and many became classics. In italian like here or in english, french or spanish. She is a polyglott and a multilingual singer and songwriter.
I strongly recommend you to use this playlist to check other songs from this concert : ruclips.net/p/PLV-BfzP9ln4xyPy8l43ag7hd20S9PeNiE
The videos in this playlist have been enhanced to a better quality and better subtitles have been added for so gs that are not in english.
Lara still sings amazingly today. She had 5 stunning concerts in June in Canada and will start her European tour in September.
You have many gems from her to discover: she has exploree many genres. Ballads of course, but also rock opera, blues, country, pop dance (she was #1 for more than one year on the US dance billboard), …
I subscribed and hope to see more of her in your channel.

    More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
    • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish), can speak a bit of sicilian, russian and dutch, and has sung in 12 languages in total
    • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
    • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
    • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both french and italian as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today.
She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada.
She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US.
This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert.
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these).
Out of my mind I can list:
    ○ Adagio,
    ○ Mademoiselle Hyde,
    ○ Know/Vocalise/Ascolta La voce
    ○ Love of tired swans
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
And she covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva).
They also performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida.
Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
    ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio),
    ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime),
    ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie, Know),
    ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow),
    ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace),
    ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow),
    ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow),
    ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow),
    ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime),
    ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you),
    ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Broken Vow),
    ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow),
    ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow)
    ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso),
    ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie),
    ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow),
    ○ Amir (Je t’aime),
    ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade),
    ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade),
    ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow),
    ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you)
    ○ ....
Today, she still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature.
In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada.
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar
It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti).
But for many, Lara's version is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla.
I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it.
The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.
For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian.

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this in 1986 while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life.
curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.
    Greetings from Firenze (Florence) Italy

👉 Enrico Caruso (*1873 in Naples, † 1921 ibid; actually Errico Caruso) was an Italian opera singer. He is considered the most famous lyrical tenor of the early 20th century and one of the most important singers in the world of opera.
Caruso was famous for his baritone-like timbre and stage presence. In a performance of La Bohème he sang an aria for the suddenly voiceless bass so convincingly that no one in the audience noticed.
Caruso established a new, exemplary style of singing in which the focus was not on beautiful performance but on becoming one with the character being portrayed.
Caruso is the name everyone knows and to which every opera singer is compared. Those who have seen him describe the onset of his voice with the warm power of an organ.
Caruso still holds the record of 863 appearances on the Metropolitan Opera stage.
And it was Caruso who initiated the triumph of the record with his work.
Caruso's generosity was legendary. For example, during his most successful years at the Metropolitan Opera, he gave almost all employees Christmas presents.
His sense of humor was also famous. Again and again he joked with his stage colleagues, for example sewing up a sleeve of a coat that a colleague in La Bohème had to wear during the performance, or filling water in a discarded hat that someone had to wear in the performance.
3 years before his death he married the American millionaire daughter Dorothy Park Benjamin. With her he had a daughter, Gloria, at the age of 45.
He died at the age of 48 from protracted pleurisy and blood poisoning. (www)

Lara Fabian is an international living legend, and has been for decades now. She's on the same level as Celine Dion and Mariah Carey, but she is not as well known in the US. She has inspired many newer artists and happens to be an idol of Dimash as he was growing up. He covers several of her songs (Adagio, Mademoiselle Hyde, Love is like a dream, etc), and has performed duets with Lara. Apart of having an incredible voice with wonderful control, she's a master story teller, and there's nobody who elicits emotions like she can. Caveat: when you react to her songs, always use a version that's LIVE. Unlike other artists who need studio enhancements and correction, she actually performs BETTER when she's in front of an audience! Please react to "Je Suis Malade" with English subtitles. It's an absolute masterpiece: ruclips.net/video/dVvlmpo5g9k/видео.html

I can tell that what she does here craves skills over the normal. Her variation of tone, her dynamic, her power and softness and the most important, her ability to deliver emotions.
She is so great in all this elements. What an artist! Thanks Bro!

Lara has been one of my favorite female artists since the 90's. When you react to her stand out performances people request, her live concert From Lara With Love is a great source. Je Suis Malade ruclips.net/video/PlVTybkEhX4/видео.html Her version of Adagio. She is the singer Dimash emulates ruclips.net/video/jKtNuLG5jAo/видео.html Another of her great performances live, her original song Broken Vow ruclips.net/video/FNVR0yK8Ec8/видео.html These are fan favorites and stand out performances. She was Dimash's Muse you might say when he was young. She is a fabulous story teller and like Dimash draws you in to the story no matter what language she is singing in. I am so glad you reacted to and loved Lara as I do. Thx 😎

Lara Fabian is of Italian origins but in fact she is not. Italians understand that she sings in imperfect Italian, but those who are not Italian may believe that she sings well. You should know that in Italy she is almost unknown.
