When I saw that PC and then saw the fps on the games, I was mind blown. I never imagined that thing running games over 30fps at high. This was amazing and it was less than 200 dollars. Best channel on RUclips.
i would kill for warm weather. i live on the east coast of the U.S (Western New York), and we have 2 feet of snow on the ground. although i didn't have school yesterday or the day before because of it.
Its good to put a face to the voice. That fsp psu is not a bad one, but just to make sure, id take it apart, clean it out, and id check for bad caps. If theres no bad cap, than this little unit could power this pc for many years. Even with little oc on that q6600, well with the 1050s little tdp.
Amazing how cheap a somewhat decent gamer PC can be built for. I can't wait to see what you do next to this PC :) Btw.: Watching your channel has made me even more budget-aware when building computer. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you've handed out.
A bit of Wiki: "Fortron Source Power Group (FSP Group) is a Taiwanese company that manufactures power supply units for PCs. FSP is the 5th largest power supply vendor in the World", "Power supplies manufactured by FSP are also sold by Antec, Sparkle Power International (SPI), OCZ, SilverStone Technology, Thermaltake, Nexus and Zalman under their own names."
Gli Storty You don't need to be English to see his face, he has done some facecam vids before. (For example, I'm Brazilian and I've seen his face before)
I would recommend a 45nm processor for socket 775, because of the SSE4 instruction set. Some actual games with havok physics engine requires this instructions, such as Resident evil 7 and mafia 3. I Ran the RE7 with my AMD phenom, but I had to do some workaround to make it work xD
Some of them really made it, but RE7, did only on the beta versions. My phenom won't be trashed, I've had it since 2010, and now it's running @ 3.72 Ghz at 1.4v (maximum stock voltage) thanks to a corsair A70 cooler. It's a fantastic CPU, it's days are already counted, but it can still make a great work. Maybe on the next year, i build another PC, so I can plug my old GTS 450 back into the phenom and make an "Ultimate" Windows XP gaming machine to have some fun with older titles hehehe.
Yes, I finished the game =D It still have problems, in the first flooded area, and in another in the end of the game, it crashes. But in this scenes I can use Intel SDE emulator to get past the unstable parts of this game. It drops the fps, but only for a few scenes, wasn't such a problem xD
Retch Einhundert bro i think u may need to upgrade to a8 or a10 maybe a a10-7700k would do the job ... you should get a normal 1050 and put the money for the upgrade of cpu ... cuz if u stay with this its gonna bottleneck your gpu and u wont get the full performance out of it
for the q6600 there is a hardware overclock method just by covering 2 connectors with electrical tape. It just causes the fsb speed to raise, which is the old school overclock method (much better than base clock) and the oc method works fine even on stock heatsinks.
Hey there! I recently picked up and old Maxdata pre built pc for 17 pounds. It came with 2 dvd burners, a wifi card, a 320gb sata hdd, an old radeon hd graphics card with 256mb ram, an intel core 2 duo e6420 and 4gb of ddr2 ram and windows 7 pro installed. I had an old nvidia geforce gts450 lying around so I installed it in the system. Works like a charm. I looked up which processors were supported on the motherboard and the “best” processor for this board is an intel core 2 duo E6700. I looked it up and turned out that it’s actually more expensive as the whole pc. So I decided to look after a core 2 duo E6600 and found one for 4,30 pounds on ebay. I bought it and I’m waiting for it to arrive. Do you think that this pc was a good deal for budget gaming? Bought the thing for a friend of mine. He doesn’t have much money and is planning to run something like half life 2, left 4 dead 2, CS:GO, battlefield 3, call of duty black ops 2 or some other titles from around this time. Do you think that the system will handle this well or even the games you showed in this video? Would be cool to hear from you. :D
I got this monster on ebay recently www.ebay.at/itm/Alienware-AuroraALX-i7-3-2GHz-1-5TB-12GB-GTX690-4GD5-PC-Desktop-in-OVP-/292040722426?hash=item43fefbc7fa:g:EwYAAOSw2gxYtVGn even though i hate alienware design it was a pretty good deal :)
Your channel is currently my favourite PC Gaming/Hardware related channel on RUclips. Watch every video religiously. Keep up the good work and keep flying the Union Jack for us Brits! Let's go for a beer sometime and chat about graphics cards haha
That's why I would make a second channel, I have been building PC's for a while now. I loved this channel so I thought this would be a nice place to ask...
dude you're like 12... u think that since u watched some videos on how to build PC's you'll somehow even be able to manage a tech channel? those ppl spent years working with pc components, and watching news regarding each part. you probably don't even some of the top gpu's out there at the moment, how do u think u'll be able to even start a tech channel without the basics? you need a lot of time to learn first, and then u need experience
for the overclock, you can use the hack that i posted in the 5$ dell gaming machine, it's named the BSEL mod and the core 2 quad goes to a stable 3ghz because the cpu is recognized as a 1333 MHz FSB instead of the 1066 MHz stock FSB there are some videos named as the ninja hack (simple pin masking with electrical tape hack)
I love budget systems like these, i built one myself a couple of months ago, x5450 @3.65ghz (motherboard doesn't like high fsb), 8 gigs of ram and a GTX 470. Came to around 190 pounds.
The psu that you have is an fsp fortron and you can trust it obviously it's not enough powerful, but fsp psu are the most reliable psu that you can find in a prebuilt system, they never let me down.
that msi small form factor 1050ti is a lifesaver. snagged an optiplex on ebay for super cheap, had an i7 3770 on it, and threw a 1tb hdd, 12 gb of RAM, and a cheap copy if windows ten on it , dropped this 1050ti in it, and bam, a gaming pc that should be viable for 1080p for a good long time, ( for 30-60 fps). I built it for one of my buddies and hes very happy with it.
Man, i own a proper rig, but i find videos of this kind so entertaining. You should start building old machines as well (Pentium 3 era) and running some old games on them like Unreal, system shock 2 , shadow man etc.
Since we are dealing with a quite old processor here it would be good if you could measure frame times or so called "1% and 0.1% lows" that represent how often we see stutters and fps dipping to the lows.
Love your vids, long time fan. May i suggest if you can add it in the future, that you show the minimum framerate as well? Would help to see the lows we can expect along with the average. Keep those vids coming.
I am super impressed with the results, I picked up a 1050 Ti the other day for my media center PC with the thought I could do some light gaming, I haven't had time to test it out but combined with the 6 core AMD it should do OK from the looks of things. (I did try out Dolphin and in some games like from Factor 5 it is just too slow to be playable, but it did pick up 2 more frames average VS the stock GPU.) Mario Sunshine is playable at 1080P so if nothing else it's still a lot of fun :)
Old PSU yes but FSP Group is a good OEM maker, something similar to Seasonic, most of their PSUs are around Corsair CX series quality. Also the mobo has bulged up capacitors next to the CPU, it'll work, but it might randomly die at one point.
I just upgraded my 11 year old 775 ddr2 system from a Core2 duo E6600 to a quad 6600 for £12. Sadly, it blew up my cheap (supposedly) 400 watt power supply so i bought a £41 600 watt evga unit (which had a faulty power cable). I am using my old one. I also knackered one of the pins on the cpu cooler (i know, what an idiot) so had to buy a new one. I could have replaced the plastic bits but thought a better cooler would enable overclocking. My mobo doesn't seem to like being overclocked, at least, not by using the bios presets. Got the hyper 212 evo for £24. This meant i had to remove the motherboard which was fun (not). I bought 4GB ram for £12. I now have 7GB. The most expensive (but most effective) upgrade was the 250 GB Samsung evo SSD for £93 including bracket. So was it worth it? Well, yes and no. I want to manually overclock but as i dont know how i wouldn't want to damage the cpu etc. (this is my only system). I plan to build a Ryzen 3 or equivalent intel system so can use the cooler, psu, and SSD with that. If i get another year out of this system i will be chuffed. It's served me well. I don't game.
Well, my 2009 E5450 LGA771 (with 775 mod) still manages Witcher 3 on Ultra 1080p, so old CPUs aren't that bad, and i think the 775 era was Intel's golden age.
Great video!! the only thing that bothers me slightly is the fact that the machine isn't oem like the dell. There isn't quite the same WOW factor of making a boring old dell into a budget gaming beast.
OOOOO A RANDOMGAMINGINHD VIDEO THAT TAKES PLACE IN REAL LIFE. Love your videos. Something is so interesting about this extreme budget and revisit stuff.
I was very lucky and picked up a stack of slim HP machines, each came with an i5 2400 or 2500 and 4 or 8 GB RAM for $10 each from a school that was upgrading. I plan to put a half height 1050ti in one for a nice secondary portable gaming machine.
That PSU seems to be an FSP power supply. FSP is a well-known power supply manufacturer, so I think if you keep the 1050 in the build (I mean you do not change that to like an R9 290), you won't need to change the power supply.
TheIdiotPlays I concur. This is why FSP earn their legendary trust from people like me. Their PSU were built like a tank. They don't fail. If you had the heart to dissect old FSP PSU, like the early 2000s, you'd find the components inside them are huge. Big capacitor, huge wiring, pure classic prowess. Another legendary brands that I trust aside from FSP are Rosewill, Seasonic and Antec. These are the brands you dont question further.
One of the best channels on youtube hands down.
Nicholas Clark true
Nicholas Clark thanks man
yea i always look forward to these vids lol
Agreed 100%
When I saw that PC and then saw the fps on the games, I was mind blown. I never imagined that thing running games over 30fps at high. This was amazing and it was less than 200 dollars. Best channel on RUclips.
Haad Naqvi lol, my 2009 HP tower with CPU, RAM and GPU upgrade run GTA V around 40 FPS with all settings to the highest at 900p
warm day in England.
is it the apocalypse?
Asim Well... It is global warming soo...
Asim feels like it. We complain when it's too cold and when it's too hot haha
dont worry had a warm day yesterday here in Nottingham now its pissing it down and cold .......so normal service resumed
RandomGaminginHD its freezing during the day and warm at night, im from the midlands
i would kill for warm weather. i live on the east coast of the U.S (Western New York), and we have 2 feet of snow on the ground. although i didn't have school yesterday or the day before because of it.
I think I spotted two bulging capacitors on the motherboard. If I saw it right that motherboard is on it's last legs...
What exact minute of the vid?
I've spotted 4 at 1:31
shit, you right
Yeah, I've actually noticed that as well.
yup, he should really repear those before it break the computer like the dell
Now just to upgrade that CPU to a Xeon and get rid of that bottleneck
At least you don't do clickbait and you're videos are great
But but but....No RGB RAM....
ahaha xD
Just put some Red, Green and Blue electrical tape on your RAM easiest solution^^
Ein Yup! Especially since this is a budget gaming PC 😂
Ein
and the best comment award goes to...
I like the new style of the video, with you in the shot and music in the gameplay!
Great Video! Pay attention to these capacitors on the mb
Its good to put a face to the voice. That fsp psu is not a bad one, but just to make sure, id take it apart, clean it out, and id check for bad caps. If theres no bad cap, than this little unit could power this pc for many years. Even with little oc on that q6600, well with the 1050s little tdp.
watching in 144p for true slav experience
Great video as always. I have to point out your choice of music for the benchmarks, that was just spot on mate, really diggin it :D
I think you should upgrade the cooler to someting overclockable
And motherboard
Dalle Smalhals no he means it would be able to handle an overclocked cpu without it overheating
Amazing how cheap a somewhat decent gamer PC can be built for.
I can't wait to see what you do next to this PC :)
Btw.: Watching your channel has made me even more budget-aware when building computer. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you've handed out.
Well, about every PC from the last 10 years has far more performance than the latest consoles...
agreed
they have miles of more performance than modern consoles.
Won't outperform ps4 pro though
Cairo Murphy it already has
Nigga. My pc is 11 years old and it can't run Crysis 1 (literally, won't start).
I love how you are right in my budget with your videos! :)
Average Guy: We can't make this 10$ computer any cheaper!
RandomgaminginHD: *Hold my beer.*
Been enjoying you're videos for the past few months, great content! Thank you!!!
That PSU is an FSP Group, a big OEM manufacturer and the quality es very good indeed
A bit of Wiki: "Fortron Source Power Group (FSP Group) is a Taiwanese company that manufactures power supply units for PCs. dude love your videos. dont stop doing what you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know why is my pc take 30 minutes to boot ? :(
My pc :
I5 750
P7p55d
300 gb HDD
16gb ram
Gt 730
Shitty PSU
it's probably your HDD so get a SSD make loading and booting much faster
Jerry Bijleveld ok thanks :)
I think i will buy a faster HDD because i don't have to money for a SSD :(
ssd doesnt cost that much tbh, if u are not getting 2tb ofc
Great stuff man. Makes me want to turn all the old PCs I have into simple gaming rigs
You're just as beautiful as I imagined.
btw I bought a prebuilt Dell about 2 years ago for 100$ should I upgrade it since it already has windows
Yes upgrade it.
You should look at the CPU socket and other things before upgrading it.
i think he looks like a hamster
and like one of our new teachers :D
xGxPhantom Zzz I think hamsters are cute
finally its here! I waited weeks for this
What the heck... I've never seen your face before :O
Gli Storty Welcome to this awesome channel
Gli Storty i have
I'm not English, sorry.
Gli Storty You don't need to be English to see his face, he has done some facecam vids before. (For example, I'm Brazilian and I've seen his face before)

Keep it after 2020. It'll be possible to update it for another 2 years due to Windows 7 Embedded which still has support until 2022.
I really don't know who would dislike this type of awesome content?
What do you think, will my a6 6400k work with the 1050 ti lp well?
Retch Einhundert bro i think u may need to upgrade to a8 or a10

Q6600 is good at video editing?
Ghazik nooe it takes 13 min to render a video from 1 minute in sony vegas
It won't be terrible for the price with 4 cores and 2.66 GHz, but you might want to go to a nicer one if you have the money!
ok for 720p. I used Q9400 and it wasn't that bad.
subbookkeeper okay.
Ghazik I have gtx 550 Ti and its nice at render lol
Quite amazed to see what this system could still pull through in these games
Got my Q6600 overclocked to 3.6GHz :D
Stock cooler?
victor rodriguez no, Arctic freezer pro 7 or some shit

1337GamesEU why no core 2 quad? See if there is a BIOS update for your mobo. You will be able to use better CPU maybe.
you need 2k€ to play with a pc, consoles are better and blablabla ... Hey Bro, all u need is 250 bucks :D
Uria 64800 2k for pc? lolwat
Uria 64800 most pc games are cheaper than console so budget or normale PC is much better
nice bait.
lol, when i said 250€, i was talking about budget builds, not consoles. That was so clear in my mind that i didnt think it could be misunderstood

I love your channel! Do you think I should make a new tech channel? I would love to do a Cheap build battle against you!
fuck no go back playing minecraft
That's why I would make a second channel, I have been building PC's for a while now. I loved this channel so I thought this would be a nice place to ask...
KaptiveTV yeah do it man, cheap tech is awesome
dude you're like 12... u think that since u watched some videos on how to build PC's you'll somehow even be able to manage a tech channel? those ppl spent years working with pc components, and watching news regarding each part. you probably don't even some of the top gpu's out there at the moment, how do u think u'll be able to even start a tech channel without the basics? you need a lot of time to learn first, and then u need experience
I work on computers for my daily job, and I am 18 years old.... Good try on roasting through a keyboard. You failed, go get them next time!
for the overclock, you can use the hack that i posted in the 5$ dell gaming machine, it's named the BSEL mod and the core 2 quad goes to a stable 3ghz because the cpu is recognized as a 1333 MHz FSB instead of the 1066 MHz stock FSB
there are some videos named as the ninja hack (simple pin masking with electrical tape hack)
Now I think I know why I'm not getting any good deals on ebay....
STOP STEALING THEM
proud of you hitting 115k subs!!keep it up!!
disappointed you look nothing like Rodney from Only Fools And Horses
😂
T R I G G R E D
I love budget systems like these, i built one myself a couple of months ago, x5450 @3.65ghz (motherboard doesn't like high fsb), 8 gigs of ram and a GTX 470. Came to around 190 pounds.
And people told me i need at least 500

This is such an awesome channel can't wait to start doing this on my channel
You film this yesterday? Was a lovely day!
So glad you showed your face, no reason in particular just glad you did it :)
that msi small form factor 1050ti is a lifesaver. snagged an optiplex on ebay for super cheap, had an i7 3770 on it, and threw a 1tb hdd, 12 gb of RAM, and a cheap copy if windows ten on it , dropped this 1050ti in it, and bam, a gaming pc that should be viable for 1080p for a good long time, ( for 30-60 fps). That motherboard is in dire need of a full recap.
Good video as always though.
totalrandomtechnolog yah the capacitors are on there last ends
Keep up the great content! You have given me so many good ideas for old systems. Just Subbed!
Where do you keep all these rigs?
Nice video!
And remember: Core 2 Power!!!
Digging the frosted tips.
im so jealous..well i guess happy for ya, with how well the channel is doing man :) keep it up love the vids
Apart from gaming if you chucked another network card in, it would make a great pfSense router.
where is the "now" in the beginning?
Unusually cold Australia day. So happy there's balance in the universe.
It's freaking boiling here! Over 10 degrees C!!
Congratulations mate! You made a console out of a 8$ PC.
You should include the changes made or changelog in the description, what you take out what you put in what you tweak etc.
Man, i own a proper rig, but i find videos of this kind so entertaining.
You should start building old machines as well (Pentium 3 era) and running some old games on them like Unreal, system shock 2 , shadow man etc.
Nice Video mate.. it wasn't warm in Bournemouth :(
Have you considered doing an LGA 771 to 775 mod? A Xeon E5450 (Q9650) would bottleneck the GPU less and the cost should be pretty similar.
Bro grats on 115k subs keep on trucking breh :)
WHAT?! THAT IS DAMN INSANE PERFORMANCE FOR THE PRICE!!
would be even better if he had bought xeon x5460
i actually love this channel
Since we are dealing with a quite old processor here it would be good if you could measure frame times or so called "1% and 0.1% lows" that represent how often we see stutters and fps dipping to the lows.

Weather was good today. Probably piss down this weekend though.
i don't know but i can't stop to watch your videos, your channel is awesome and i want to start a similar channel but in Spanish. Keep it up buddy
those bulging caps are easy to replace. just match the numbers and the size, desolder and solder the new ones and thats it. good as new.
I am super impressed with the results, I picked up a 1050 Ti the other day for my media center PC with the thought I could do some light gaming, I haven't had time to test it out but combined with the 6 core AMD it should do OK from the looks of things. woah surprised that old pc can still game with a newer gpu nice vid~
I am using my old one. hmm, your channel is transforming into super awesome channel! good video
I still rocks 775 aswell, I have xeon x5460 clocked at 3,8gHz paird with r9 290 and I never run into any bottleneck.
Well, my 2009 E5450 LGA771 (with 775 mod) still manages Witcher 3 on Ultra 1080p, so old CPUs aren't that bad, and i think the 775 era was Intel's golden age.
you know your pc is beast when you can run minesweeper at 60fps
Greetings from Latvia.
Cool video.
Not sure, but i love watching these :D
Now this is how scrapyard wars should look like.
Great video!! the only thing that bothers me slightly is the fact that the machine isn't oem like the dell. There isn't quite the same WOW factor of making a boring old dell into a budget gaming beast.
I love ur videos i hope you get more followers, you deserve them! :D
OOOOO A RANDOMGAMINGINHD VIDEO THAT TAKES PLACE IN REAL LIFE. Love your videos. Something is so interesting about this extreme budget and revisit stuff.
didn't expect that the pc would run so good
If you cant overclock in the motherboard bios, there is something called tape mod for the cpu...look it up, you can get your q6600 to 3ghz
I was very lucky and picked up a stack of slim HP machines, each came with an i5 2400 or 2500 and 4 or 8 GB RAM for $10 each from a school that was upgrading. I plan to put a half height 1050ti in one for a nice secondary portable gaming machine.
Great video as usual!

you're looking so extremely hard British. I love it.
This is pretty cool, dirt to gold.
In scotland it was raining most of day and it is very windy.
That is an fsp psu. Newer had an issue with them. I ran a q8200 @2.93ghz and a hd 6850 with an fsp psu for about a year. :)
Tho it was a 400w unit
TheIdiotPlays I concur. This is why FSP earn their legendary trust from people like me. Their PSU were built like a tank. They don't fail. Give the PSU a chance. It's from FSP and I used very similar in the past for many years! I would say it's idle for the job! (and "for free")
I think I love you, you're vids rock and you explain things so well
you had to use Xeon X5450 moded for socket 775
We did the same things, never thought of 7 years old system could stand the test of time......
