Average fuel economy: Hyundai 8.8 l/100km - Honda 6.8l/100km. I wonder if those numbers can be observed in real life. That's quite a difference.
Hyundai has nicer interior, faster, better braking. From the reviews I've seen it has decent road manners. Not quite GTI but for the price and reliability it's a no brainer. This car should do fairly well when it becomes available.
I love Honda but the Hyundai did win this, like the gearbox in the Hyundai.

when i saw these cars in seperated picture i thought i30 has better look and honda is overstyled, but in this video i can notice a gap of design quality between two cars.

Initially I've just looked at pictures online for the i30 SR and I didn't really like it at first. But wow... I decided to go to a dealership and take a look and test drive... O M G... I love it now...
in this test hyundai is quicker & faster than civic. brakes are good too

When the Japanese car makers chose to use the CVT such as Nissan, Honda and Subaru, there cars came ugly and not reliable. I had 2015 Subaru Legacy H6 with CVT, It was bored 😐 I never feel I drive a four wheel car! I felt I was drive a bicycle 😓. The CVT is Worst gearbox I ever used.

If Hyundai i30 didn't had lag on the 1st gear shifting to 2nd gear, the 0-100km/h would have been about 6.7 seconds.
About during the last decade, Honda, Toyoda, Mazda followed Nissan to use cvt misiion. And it was a great chance for Hyundai to catch up Japan cars.

Civic is overstyled and ugly. CVT gearbox = vomit. Im not a fan of Hyundai but if you had to choose between these two cars i would definitely take the Hyundai.

Hondas comparison is really the vti-lx which has less absurd styling than the civic Rs, and more safety smarts. Also a higher price tag, but imo much much better car day to day than the Hyundai.

Why did u use hundai in sport mod and did not with civic.? Civic has S mod that perform much better.!!!
During the actual testing (not shown in video, we test at least 3 times with every car) we tried in S mode and it made absolutely no difference to performance.
This was the same with the Hyundai. We just happened to be in Sport mode with the i30 during filming.

S mode and Sport mode does't change the output of the engines. Full throttle is full throttle, regardless.
As stated in the video though, the footage isn't the actual timed test anyway, it's just a demonstration. We run the cars at least three times (sometimes up to 10 times to get it right, especially with manual cars) separately on a private road using the Vbox.
