    Thank you for this video. I had a severe spike after a hysterectomy. I couldn't find any doctors who could or would help me. They all thought it was psychological. By accident I discovered while eating a Lindt Chocolate with Seasalt bar that my symptoms were significantly reduced. I thought it was the chocolate but eating plain chocolate bars did not help. I had a huge craving for McDonald's fries which I rarely ate - but that did not help (it was the salt on the fries I was really craving). Putting 2 and 2 together I started adding sea salt to my diet and all of my symptoms went away. My symptoms were: High blood pressure, severe anxiety, swelling in my legs, rapid breathing. I tried to share this information with. my doctors but no one would listen nor were they willing to refer me to an endocrinologist. Through self study I learned so much about my adrenal glands and the effect anesthesia has on them.

      Why don't Hospitals have ccoks making chicken soups, bone broth and simple things like mashed potatoes, legumes, healthy and cheap from real produce? it needn't be highly spiced. I bet it would be cheaper than buying all the highly processed instant concoctions that are detrimental to ones health most people don't want or even eat? Most ends up in the garbage as you can see from the return trays. If sick people can't eat, fasting is better in any case

In respect, I known my adrenal were going crazy because of these stress of the surgery. I know now what to do if I ever have to have a surgery.🙌🏾

    That's so interesting. I had a hectic Emergency C section which was traumatic psychologically and physically. Any kind of abdominal surgery has to be one of the most brutal types - at least recovery-wise.

    • @lizafield9002

      Yes, right at the core of your being. Then just when you needed deep rest, fresh air, sunlight & a dark room at night with open window & good silence for sleep, quiet time with the little one & time with God or soul time, you have to be "on" & talk with everyone, make decisions, enjoy all-night lights & noise, no fresh air, no natural sounds or breezes or feelings of earth. We've gotta change things for the kids. There's movement in that direction.

      I don’t know I feel the C-section decision is made by doctors to have a well adhered to work schedule and reduce malpractice liability exposure. Everything now has to be done now and here on my terms including what is supposed to be a natural God designed process it’s heartbreaking. “Delivery on demand” Of course add in the extra cash for C-section which will benefit more medical staff and hospital officials and you see how the odds are against you and the baby.

    State of mind is also a significant factor. Fear, anxiety, and emotional stress, both pre and post op, can play a significant role in recovery. _"Perception"_ of a surgical procedure, indeed perception of anything, can directly impact the body's recovery.

  • @aprilflowerrrss
    @aprilflowerrrss 4 года назад +3

    Thanks for covering this. Surgery is traumatizing especially if you're really young and are going under. I was seeing a trauma therapist for a little while and he informed me that there's a correlation with general anesthesia (if you go in afraid, you will come out afraid) at a young age and addiction later in life. For example, if you drink til blacking out, that's the way you are compensating with that very early trauma that is trying to resolve itself by other means. It makes sense, when you drink until you blackout you are technically going under. I had eye surgery at the age of 4, came out of the anesthesia afraid and crying. I have other traumas, but that is definitely my earliest. I've been told I've always had anxious temperament (?), have dealt with addiction issues (heavy drinking), among some other things. Fortunately, I stopped drinking 4 years ago. This needs to be researched more.

Im also thinking this may also be the case after my head injury. I still have many symptoms. I was trying everything I can including the alkalising formula. The early symptoms were very consistent with cortisol overload including hot flushes and sleep issues. Very interesting overall, the links to wellness and gaining the best possible outcome for whatever physical condition you are left to manage.

      While Eric Berg and Thomas DeLauer are both awesome and popular advocates in the Keto community, I'm not sure they can legally interview a cancer survivor with the express purpose of promoting a potential medical cure. Dangerous legal waters.

Even dealing with walk-in, walk-out ambulatory surgery centers. Wonderful video. ❤️ I can also mention that I had a 7 hour dental work-up removing all metals and root canals that was done under conscious sedation. I was up and around in 12 hours including attending class. My last dental visit was for getting a tooth pulled under whatever drugs they are using now (the dentist couldn't tell me what drugs were used... he said he didn't know!). I'm staring down shoulder and knee surgery, so I've been prepping my liver and body to hit the starting line at 100%. IF/Keto👍
    Edit: having been in a constant state of ketosis for 8 months, it just dawned on me that the surgeon might give me an IV of glucose during the operation. I'll have to look into this more. Thanks Doc!
    2nd Edit: and the post surgery Jello! Having had surgery once before, I know for sure they give you jello and Gatorade, which I'm sure I would've mindlessly consumed if not for this video. Can you imagine the insulin response I'd have after not consuming ANY sugar I. 8months? I went from Being a prediabetic 275 lbs to 215lbs with a washboard stomach (45m, 6'0")... zero sit-ups, just 20 minutes of swimming per day. I'm still losing around.25 lbs per day- no idea where it's going to end.

      I’m having reconstructive knee surgery tomorrow. I’ve had 17 orthopedic surgeries. I decline the crackers, soda/juice etc. Normally I just do water so I can leave. But, tomorrow, I’ll be even smarter. I’m bringing Dr Berg’s electrolytes. I’ll be curious to see how I feel afterwards by consuming this vs all my other surgeries.

      Thanks! Will do! I have never received glucose solution so not expecting one today. Although, this surgery is scheduled for 3 hours and I haven't had that long of one since 80's/90's when I had my ACLs reconstructed. I will ask and update you. I had knee surgery in April and the anesthesiologist stated I was medically boring lol as I have no health issues so I wonder how much of that plays a role in what they administer during surgery.

I had emergency major surgery in mid-February, a minor surgery (unrelated) in mid-May, and then major surgery again in late June to reverse part of what the surgeon had to do during the first operation. I've only just started to feel more like myself again.

    I have high cortisol between 3 am and 4 am. I asked my Nutritionist if Intermittent Fasting would help my Adrenals and he told me to stop doing it because it will traumatize and make my Adrenal fatigue much worse. Is this true Dr. Berg or do I need to stop paying my Nutritionist?

    • @thorzyan
      @thorzyan 4 года назад +2

      Zee human beings existed for 100k+ years in a state of ketosis with frequent periods of intermittent fasting (i.e. Winter/ice ages). We could not have survived as a species if IF/Keto were bad for you. This simple undeniable truth is what will eventually sway the masses. It is unassailable.

    First of all I’m sorry don’t speak English well.. Now, I wish I could’ve known you and this video two years ago. I had a tummy tuck and breast surgery, two days later I lost my de ability to smell and taste maybe I got a virus. 3 weeks later I have liquid retention in my feet. Lastly, I gain 30 pounds, constipation, depression and run out of energy. I feel like a zombie. Watching your videos I realize that the cause could have been the stress event of going to surgery, then the virus affected my liver/kidneys function then my thyroid ( possible hashimotos). 3 months ago I started keto alone with your vitamins D, nutritional yeast, omega 3, sea kelp, bile salts, electrolytes, green powder juice, acv, lemon, Brazil nut, fasting and I think that’s all… my life and energy is back I’m living again I felt I was going to die before. I really appreciate everything you do. You save my life and many more for sure 🙏
