If you do leave the coins on an exchange. Is there going to be a "snapshot" like in previous hard forks?

Can it be on a cold wallet or does it need to be a hot wallet? Also I have eth staked on an exchange. If i pull it out using wETH does it still count towards the fork?

Legit no one else is talking about this.. Dunno why
Everybody is bullish on Ethereum, no matter if they let you know about it or not! The reason is simple: Ethereum is the true market leader (even Bitcoin is trying to copy Ethereum and have smart contracts) and it moves to a lower issuance and supply sock situation slowly with its triple halving upgrade. The true market leader has bigger scarcity and slowly becomes deflationary, what any investor could expect better then that. There is simply nothing better in the global assets market. Of course our times are the sell the news shorting schemes and friendly scamming times , everybody lies and invests on FUD created in minds of the people who are not used to it, but basically EVERYBODY is bullish on Ethereum, literally everybody no matter if he lets you know about it or not.

@@TomCrown will the wallet not have to support the new coins though? Suppose you can add the contract in say Metamask, but Ledger for instance only supports a prescribed list of coins
This is a great point.
Regardless if they support or not, you get the forks.
If they dont update quickly you may not be able to send from that wallet.. BUT that doesnt impact it, you can use another wallet that does with that key.
So if it’s put in the secure wallet on Coinbase you’ll get all the coins ???
Only guaranteed for wallets you have custody over, aka hold the keys.

The main thing about the ETH Merge is that it's Vitalik's version of implementing "Squid Games" on ETH owners (not as in the crypto, no - it's not a rugpull. What it is....)
Moving to PoS is undeniably advantageous to the wallets full of premined coins (ETH foundation & others)

In my opinion for the merge - yes
Not related to other coins.. But self custody is generally the smarter move.

So are you saying that you sold off all your BCH when BTC forked? If so can you calculate how much you lost by doing that to what you would have had if you had held a little longer? Seems like you want to make sure to kill off any fork that could come from this and do so by making sure your loyal watchers do what you tell them to.
