      Treva Walker You went on the refurbished version that ran from 1994-2012. This ran from 1971-1994. I can see why they changed this. It's too 70s. The noises in the diamond mine and the part where you see stars reeks of 1971. (Same goes for the dark room after you get hit by the train on Mr. Toad.) Hell, even the font on "Seven Dwarfs Mine" is way too 70s.

    • @YuukiTakemoto1996
      @YuukiTakemoto1996 3 года назад

      @@MarthaRoseQuartz The mine font is supposed to be old-fashioned, fairytale style. Also, the technology used to speed up the witch's laugh in the starburst scene must have been a record player, as it skips over and over like a broken record.

    a similar version still exists today at Tokyo Disneyland, but the differences are the witches appears around 5 times, the ride audio is less scarier than this. the dwarf cottage scene is the one with the silly song and the ending takes place at the cliff, but you are crushed by the boulder similar to this, with the gem. but the Tokyo version is still scariest out of all the snow white rides in the other Disney parks

      This ride got updated In 1994. From 1994-2012 it was snow white’s scary adventures (however it was less scarier than the original version)
      Then in 2012 to now it’s the 7 dwarves mine train.
      You either experienced the original and/or just the 2nd version.
      Both can be scary for very little children. But the original was a straight up horror house ride.

But the original version was supposed to give you the feel of being Snow White herself in the adventures from what she went though in the movie. I love Snow White :D

Blanc is mostly voicing Grumpy in a Yosemite Sam type of voice while Smith and Mckennon do the voices of Doc, Sneezy, Happy, and Sleepy respectively. Ginny Tyler (another Disney legend) voices the queen and the witch here as presented in the original version of the ride before being refurbished and to make it less scary and with new voices, notably Tony Jay as the magic mirror.

    yeah but imagine you're a 3/4 year old child on that you'd be completely terrified, no dwarves, no "happy" or complete ending it implies that you the rider have been crushed or it's a dream of some kind. Kind of distorts the whole happiest place on earth thing. I think as well Walt Disney wanted the rider to be Snow White so everything's from her POV but they didn't show much of the dwarves or the prince I think if that was included it would've been clearer and less scary.

    They should have just routed the tracks at the end of this ride into the final "Hell Scene" of Mr. Toad so the gem-crushed people could wave to the train-squashed people. Mr. Toad had more fun before he bought it, that's for sure. In his world, HE did all the scaring.
    Not every ride at Walt Disney World offers a glimpse into the afterlife, but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride aims to please.

    Im pretty sure I remember going on this version of the ride in tokyo when I was 3 and it just never really stuck with me. I do remember talking about there being no snow white and the ride just having the witch though.

    @TB492 ahhhh hello, this was the original version, which opened in 1971 and was later changed in the early 90's....YOU are supposed to be "Snow White" and experiencing her terrifying escape from the witch from her point of view. Unfortunately, many people such as yourself, were too stupid to figure this out, so they had to dumb it down, make it less scary and add Snow White, the prince and the rest of the cast. It was donwhill from there and I'm glad it's finally closed down.

      Warriorseamonkey16 What no? they made it to be there? This is a ride based of the movie not a complete imitation of the movie. They wanted to make a scary ride so they added some scenes. The scene with the witch dropping a diamond and pushing a mine kart isn't in the movie either.

    I'm given to understand that a different Snow-White themed ride, a mine train indoor coaster with the Seven Dwarfs, is planned. I'll miss the old ride, but this sounds good.

    I never got to ride this version, but I miss the days when scary stuff was cool. Now it's all boring happy stuff. Don't get me wrong, I still like the modern versions, but I think kids like having some simulated fantasy danger once in a while. I know I did at least.

    Wow, I'm speechless!! I had no idea the WDW version was once this cool! Since I've been on all 4 versions of the ride (Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris) can anyone tell me if Tokyo's was once like this? Because Magic Kingdom's and Tokyo's seem to be very similar, like they were perhaps both updated at the same time since they have identical layouts.

    wow, that ride is a totally different ride than what it is today. More like an old carnival haunted house, and the ending, wow! Never would've thought that a Disney ride, especially one in Fantasyland, would have an unhappy ending. I can see why they changed it!

    This ride was tough to operate as until the re-do in the mid-90's it was running on the old dark ride system- the the newer dark rides the cars have specific places where they stop in the station and you can't move them if a car is in front of them- Until 1995, this ride powered small sections of the track and you had to move them by pushing buttons to get them into the right spot- if you hit the wrong button the cars would hit each other!

  • @disneyfan85
    @disneyfan85 15 лет назад

    That was one of the reasons the ride got changed anyway, to add in Snow White, because the concept of guests being Snow White confused the guests, who didn't quite grasp that.

    I think the original version of Snow White at Disneyworld does more justice too the original story and cartoon. When they make it bright and happy, we loose sight that the whole story is about a queen trying to kill a young girl just because she is more beautiful. The very nature of Snow White, along with most children's fairy tales, is scary. I went on this when I was young, didn't bother me a bit. If the title "SCARY ADVENTURES" didn't warn parents, then they are just dumb parents.
