There is a video on RUclips of an instructional video that teaches you how to play it that is fairly accurate, I think just the ending was a little off from what I remember. It's not in english..but it should help.

They actually aren't black. They just appear that way on the videos for some reason. Must be the lighting. I just use regular Ernie Ball Flatwounds.
