While Moon may have torn some of the staff bots up, Help Wanted 2 implies that Sun isn't too happy either and on a whim, he could turn on a brainless bot and likely vent out a lot of his own rage. This makes the idea of his Moon side even worse since despite venting his rage out, it would mean Moon is a lot more unhinged.

I never understood how people thought that the all staff meeting led to a large amount of human staff being killed. Anytime I've heard people talk about it, they always point fingers at Vanny and/or the Mimic. If there were even just *10 people,* 2 or 3 people could easily subdue Vanny if she started swinging around a knife, and they could get out of the Pizzaplex with limited damage. And with all the chairs around, 5 people could do some serious damage to the Mimic while the others call for help. But when you brought up that the Staff Bots could have a hand in it, that makes so much more sense. I refuse to believe a person confined in a rabbit suit or a murderous endoskeleton could kill a large amount of people and get off scot-free. But a Staff Bot to each person would definitely make the job easier.

The plot point about the staff being killed by vanny was so interesting to me but since the game can’t actually show it just feels like yet another dropped plot point. And it still doesn’t make sense as to why Fazbear entertainment would have V.A.N.N.I masks for employees, did they know she was there and did nothing because they’re evil and stupid?

    • @GJames-Legend101
      @GJames-Legend101 2 месяца назад +20

That’s something I’ve been thinking of as well, why does the antagonist have a literal AI Mask System designed and named after her, if I had to make a guess I would say that the mask came first and that’s where she got the idea, something else I wan to pick out is in Help Wanted theirs an in universe game development company called Silver Parasol who wouldn’t you know it have a White Rabbit Mascot on their logo and in the Curse of Dreadbear DLC were introduced to the mask for the first time. Now before I say what I think I need to talk about Vanessa and vanny, now personally I think the 2 of them are 2 completely different people, but not in the way you think, I’m more under the impression that Vanny is a Inner Thoguht Form Digital Consciousness that was made inside of Vanessa’s mind (possibly by Agony) and she saw the VANNI mask and was inspired by it, so it’s like 2 minds sharing 1 body, Vanessa is the normal and original meanwhile Vanny is basically a Dark Reflection of her and her polar opposite while sharing certain Aspects and Traits, also fnaf RUclipsr/Theorist ryetoast made a theory that when Gregory beat princess quest rather than destroying Vanny he simply removed the Vanny Persona/Consciousness from Vanessa’s mind and body and she was put inside the mask, then during Help Wanted 2 we see the Protagonist find and use the mask which allows Vanny to Influence/Manipulate them into helping her Overcome and get rid of Glitchtrap and the she just leaves them to rot, and during Ruin Cassie finds the mask it’s very possible that Vanny will either possess Cassie or try to Influence/Manipulate her into getting revenge on Gregory, Vanessa and Glamrock Freddy.

I work in a factory that uses automatic robots to help deliver materials to work on, and it sticks out to me just how unsafe the staff bots are. I don't care how many waivers they claim you agree to, if one (1) robot runs into a customer, that is a huge lawsuit on their hands. The company I work for takes a massive amount of steps to ensure you know a bot is coming and how it will be moving. And even then, if one runs into an employee, regardless of if it's the employee's fault or not, they're still very liable. If it happened to a customer in a more retail environment? There wouldn't just be civil (money) litigation, but criminal (jail time) legal issues.

As for the nightmare bots, I’ve noticed in HW2, they don’t have glowing eyes, but they have glowing eyes in security breach, plus, they don’t show up in Ruin. It’s clear these robots are more than just simple robots who were added as filler. Like you said, there’s a mystery. 🤔

  • @jimmuthedeath1215

I think the STAFF Bots as entertaining as they are, are a core reason why the Pizzaplex isn’t scary. The obvious part is the fakeout common jumpscares, but I’m not just talking about that. I feel like the vibe of wandering a liminal abandoned mall is hindered by the presence these security robots everywhere. It’s much more uneasy to be in an abandoned location alone, especially such an open one. Even though the staff bots aren’t alive per say, their presence offers the illusion of the Pizzaplex being occupied by guards and staff to the point it’s more comforting and lively than lonely. I know the question of, “well without security bots, what’s stopping someone from breaking in”, and that’s a good thing to have in a horror setting. The unsettling feeling that you’re alone but you could be not alone. The Pizzaplex is a massive wealthy complex but with only one night guard? What’s stopping this place from being robbed? Where are the would-be-robbers? Are they here now, or did something happen to them? It would be lazy, but if they were going for this type of game design I think the STAFF bots should’ve been replaced with a wondering spotlight security camera. It would set off an alarm and the Animatronic would begin running towards that area. No automated security guards, no fakeout jumpscare. Just a simple mechanic.

I think the "why isnt there more weirdly behaving bots" thing is easily answered: because the ones that died and became possessed couldnt be shown to other people, so they dumped them down into the basement. 29:15 This actually hits kinda hard. Its not really brought up often, but the characters of Fazbear Entertainment have truly and thoroughly have been disgraced. They are no longer seen as friendly faces that want to make children smile, now they are just the beasts that hunted people down. They've been rebooted so many times, and while out of universe they are seen as separate characters, in-universe: people are supposed to see Classic Freddy, Toy Freddy, and Glamrock Freddy as simply "Freddy Fazbear". Not to mention how its implied that they simply erased Fredbear and Spring Bonnie from their branding. What started as simply a cozy local pizza place with two Golden animatronics, has turned into a soulless huge tycoon. No more enjoyment will ever come from the characters of Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Baby, Ballora, Balloon Boy, Mangle, or any of the others. They will forever serve as a burning reminder of the tragedies that have happened, as Fazbear Entertainment desperately tries to shove it under the rug, while even more tragedies occur because of the companies' need to keep people silent every day.
The Staff Bots serve as a reminder of how far Fazbears has fallen, and will be able to bring few smiles to the guests they serve, like the rest of Freddy & Co. Truly a tragedy.

I always thought Steel Wool wanted to tell a bigger story with the STAFF bots that was unfortunately cut with the rest of the story they had due to time constraints. I believe if you look close enough through gameplay and interaction, you can still see the story they wanted to tell about consumerism, automation and companies' failed attempts at lowering budget costs that end up costing them more. The STAFF bots being so basic and predictable is done on purpose to show how new isn't better and how businesses shouldn't be in a hurry to replace the human element just because they can. They were actually kinda ahead of the curb on that and if fleshed out a little more, would've made the side story of these bots more horrifying and memorable.

So a theory / brainstorm I had *while* playing Security Breach was that the Staff Bots are *storage vessels.*
The whole point of a basement full of endos is so whenever a preformer breaks down they can be replaced, yeah? So.... how do you *store* remnant without whatever you put it in getting a personality?
Put it into something boring. 1 in 10000000. Blank faces and roller bases that take up *approximently* the same floor space as a person. Which means the bots may in fact perceive themselves as *people,* the ones who remember the most projecting onto those around them and picking up signifies that set them apart.... which is why bots who get to have *any* specific role take to it like WHOA. It's not 'this is the only personality trait we gave this bot,' it's 'we dressed the bot as a comedian and the remnant inside it perceived itself as a comedian and did the rest'-- which saves on expensive programmers.
But it also means you can't call the Geek Squad when there's a malfunction or a Bot just stops working. So you keep the ones that refuse to behave deep down in the basement, ready to juice up a new Chica or Freddy should a catastrophic failure happen, while the ones upstairs *knows exactly what happened to the others* and are kept in line by fear of being sent into the pit. [ pardon the reference, couldn't resist once I realized I could work it in XD ]
Where are the souls coming from?
Kids. Lost kids. Orphaned kids. Kids whose family didn't come to the security office, or who were too afraid and escaped/ran before anyone could pick them up. When a kid goes missing, one of the biggest difficulties is *a scared child hides on reflex.* It's a very old part of our brain that remembers when Sabertooths liked to *hunt* us, and so young humans have a terror reflex to find a low to the ground hidey hole and *stay there.*
And since most parents don't wanna think about their kid going missing, unless the *parent* had an experience where they got lost they are unlikely to make a plan with their child of "What to do if you can't find mom or dad."
The little camps scattered around the Pizzaplex read to me as Lost Kids, orphans and kids who went missing for any other reason within the mall, hiding and scrounging and *surviving* as best as they know how. Stealing food out of the trash [ like Chica ], making up stories about themselves to Seem Normal And Good to other kids [ Like Roxie ], probably acting out occasionally with all the stress that comes with *being homeless and a small child* [ Like Monty ]... and, very rarely, but when able? Doing what they can to help out others and be kind, even if doing so means they might get found out [ Oh Hi Freddy! ].
I think the Staff bots are, all together, rolling batteries for the entire Pizzaplex that can be harvested at Fazbear's leisure. The suffering of the kids while they are alive feeds the Pizzaplex, thus why there's striped power conduits that look like the puppet's limbs spanning many hallways; most abundantly in the arcade. And once they get found out and brought back to the security office, and have been missing long enough that the police have given up?
    It's harvesting time.
I think the Pizzaplex literally sustains itself on the souls of children. And Fazbear *fully* knows about it and *built the building* to be entirely powered by it. The Pizzaplex Itself Is Alive, with the Blob / MimicTrap at the center, and the extra souls waiting to be used acting as *slave labor.*
    But that's just a theory :3

This makes way more sense to me than them having the remnant of Fazbear employees in them. Most of those people have families. Now the unhoused or those in other vulnerable positions, like foster care or just not actually having any family: they're fair game. I don't think they disappeared a bunch of people at once, but I can buy them slowly harvesting those who wouldn't be missed (which would include some employees after everyone was laid off)
The Frights story Ready Player 2 features a girl in foster care dying in a malfunctioning Freddy's attraction because no adults looked for her.

I think I could have an explanation for the nightmare staff bots and why they look like Nightmarrione. Remember that one game theory where Matpat said that Charlie is haunting the pizzaplex? I think he might have been on to something. But instead of it being Charlie specifically, it’s her agony that has haunted the pizzaplex representing the death and agony that fazbear ent creates. It could even explain what Nightmarrione is, he is charlotte’s agony after she died that is the embodiment of death for the franchise.

18:08 -At prior jobs they would do employee appreciation get together. One in particular gave us two options. One was to have pizza or something brought to the job site for lunch every week or so and the other was to go out somewhere of our choice. There was always the same amount left for budget so those were the conditions and restraints. Typically the majority would have us all go out and vote by majority. It sucked in that there was a lot of nepotism with most staff being very close and overwhelming the majority with their chosen picks every time. We were function from a mall and regular hours had to be kept. Basically a supervisor staff from off-site would come in for the last 30 minutes to hour. Our supervisor and to pay for everything onsite so we would meet them there but we could not drink or do anything against the job rules in front of her or during on the clock time. The "party" was basically chosen so there was just enough on the clock hours of us to get set up and do a little celebrating as staff but then our supervisor would leave and we were free to continue or leave at our will. A bunch would order alcoholic drinks and spend more time chatting afterward than they did during the "real" outing.

3:55 Oh, yes. Monty does indeed bust up the STAFF bots. If you go into his room either when you are getting the Party Pass or when you have the access needed to go into the Glamrock Green Rooms whenever, you can actually find a pair of busted up STAFF bots on the floor. Considering the wreck Monty's room is in, and how we hear him trashing it early in the game, I'm guessing he brought those in there specifically to junk them as a means of venting his frustration over the party getting fouled.
24:30 The common idea I've heard is that both endings are cannon. We know that the Maskbot gives Cassie the VANNI mask in RUIN, while Glitchtrap was confirmed KIA in the Fuhnaff interview with Jason Topolski. So that implies, at least to me, both endings are cannon. If you want to guess how, its entirely possible that the Glitchtrap Ending occurs first, and then afterwords, the Fazbear Technician, now as the Maskbot, went back to help Vanny take out Glitchtrap for good. Though that's just my thought progress. :/
Now regarding the STAFF themselves....these things are messed up. The idea of these robotic machines replacing actual employees because Fazbear is so unwilling to actually pay their employees is bad enough. But factor in the idea of them being haunted by the Pizzaplex human employees (wither it be because of Glitchtrap, Vanny, or hell, even Dr. Rabbit if we want to throw GGY into the mix) turns these things just nightmarish. Assuming this happened *before* the events of Security Breach, that means that some of the STAFF bots we see in the game could be haunted, and thus, their treatment in-game becomes even worst. 0_0
Side note: I feel bad for the dude who winds up becoming Maskbot. Of all the machines to get stuck in, Mapbot would be my last choice. XD

The only comfort you can take is that the staff bots don’t have any real ai. They’re not truly aware, alive, and able to feel. They can’t actually suffer.
But it’s the same as seeing a broken toy or tool. There’s a certain sorrow to be had in seeing something that once benefited people ruined.
Secondly, mass disappearances overnight would’ve been a PR nightmare for Fazbear Entertainment *at best* had they arranged for the entire staff to have been slaughtered that fateful night. The law would have caught up to them swiftly. That devastated dining hall is one big blank note at this point we may never get an answer on.

Something that gets to me about the company aspect of Fazbear, when compared to the likes of Joey Drew Studios or Playtime co:
Those two have quite a bit of documentation and details on their history, activity, and employees, but Fazbear's notably different. While compared to a toy factory or animation studio, where it's likely for there to be just one building, the likes of a party place with pizza and animatronics sounds like there'd be multiple. And while that does get established in books and even FNAF 3 tapes, the narrative feels as if (not counting Fredbear's or Baby's) there was only one Freddy's at a time - the founders' (and their kids') involvement, a single group of haunted bots being dealt with, with no others brought up...
And regarding how the company seemed to revive in HW, I really can't buy Mr Burrows bought the band back then, when the company already had a massive reputation to clear, and he didn't even like the brand. And the whole thing of this all done in a single year that you said in your Glamrock Foxy video. Did Henry's short week of FNAF 6 actually make the brand popular enough for a Revival to be done?

I genuinely don't think the employees were killed off. Fazbear is stupid cheap, but they're not that brainless. It'd be safer to fire everyone than for literally every employee to dissappear overnight. We know at least some of them had families, since Cassie's dad exists. It would be too risky.
William (and Glitchtrap) are not stupid either. It's implied he's smart about his kills, always choosing easy targets and taking their lives one at a time. He also didn't get caught (?FNaF 1 newspaper retcon or someone else was convicted).
Even the Pizzaplex's missing kids are spaced out, since Gregory seems to be the only one investigating and worries that it will "keep happening."
Tl;dr Mass murder ain't the Fazbear style. Killing all staff at once would be riskier than firing them all.

While I agree that not ALL the staff went missing during the meeting, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few went missing and were maybe placed in specific bots (maybe the ones that emote more, like the manager bot In fizzy faz or the head chef bot). Staff bots do have to be taught specific tasks, so giving more critical thinking to the higher level staff bots would make more sense. I mean, like you said, Cassie’s dad had a family but he still was kidnapped and put in Mask Bot, so that doesn’t deter (at least Glitchtrap) from kidnapping people. Faz Bear Entertainment wouldn’t care enough to look into the small number of employee disappearances, much like they never cared to look into the “accidents” at their older establishments. Just put in a non liability clause to cover their butts at least until they decide to go all automated

The Princess Quest ending takes you down further and leads you through the mini quest where you light memorials at the graves of those children, then you make the trade, then you go into the Sister Location Elevator... And then a crane machine. Yes, we see Vanny and Moon, but what also resembles this room if we think of Sister Location and Ruin? The Scooper Room with the Ruin Scooper, with Vanny standing behind the glass like Baby and Moon acting as the Scooper, removing the "Afton" from you.

    A couple of things:
    1) In the All Staff Meeting note, it refers to the collective staff as "service team" (including the quotation marks). My assumption is that Service Team makes up the first two letters in the S.T.A.F.F. acronym, and the Steel Wool team put those words in quotation marks to help them stand out as a clue.
    2) In the end credits of both Security Breach and Ruin, the voice actors are listed under Cast with the actor listed first followed by the character they voiced (e.g. Andy Field - Dread Unit). However, the S.T.A.F.F. Bots are listed as "S.T.A.F.F. Bots - Themselves" in Security Breach and "S.T.A.F.F. Bots - Still Themselves..." in Ruin. I haven't worked out a full theory on that, but I think Steel Wool is definitely trying to tell us something 🤔

18:20 This was probably unintentional but it’s fitting, isn’t it?
18:28 Huh. This seems familiar… Do you think it was on purpose?
