The thing that makes this trilogy so awesome is that it’s fictional but grounded in reality (sort of) like Ras Al Ghul in the comics is very immortal but here I got the impression that it’s actually a title passed from successor to successor like The Dread Pirate Roberts. Most excellent choice!
I saw the footage. I actually think he would’ve been pretty good as Batman. He nailed the voice, intimidating but not emotionless. As Bruce….not so sure.
Legitimately one of the greatest superhero trilogies of all time. Christopher Nolan is an absolute genius, both in story and direction. Glad to see this being reacted to!
@@braeden5875 He has always been a billionaire... It's the family fortune, he didn't start Wayne Enterprises and so his family fortune was passed down from generation to generation. In some of the comics the company can be traced back to 17th century, where the company began as a dozen businesses started by brothers Judge Solomon Wayne and Joshua Wayne. Later in the 19th century during the Industrial Revolution Alan Wayne made it in to a corporate company. There is more history about it, but you get the picture.
Alyska, what you just said about being traumatised for life when seeing the bats is EXACTLY why Bruce uses Bat persona as his means of intimidation. Remember he tells Alfred "Bats terrify me Alfred; it's time my enemies know my fear." He uses that fear to make others afraid.
I know most people consider The Dark Knight to be the best movie in this trilogy, I've always been partial to Batman Begins. It's just so well done. It also has, for me, one of the most defining moments in the Batman/Gordon relationship at the end, when Gordon says "I never said Thank You", and Batman replies, "And you'll never have to".
To be fair it's like "I am Your Father", certain things have leaked into the minds of the common people, so even if you haven't watched the film, or don't recall much of the plot, you remember snippets like this.
On another note, it was awesome to go back and watch this movie again. It has been a while for me too. Seeing it like this made me somehow appreciate more the score, a very good job by Hans Zimmer. This trilogy might be the best for Batman live action there is. Thank you, Christopher Nolan and all the rest of the crew!!
The dissrespect Thomas Wayne have never been corrupt the most corrupt he gets is becoming Batman in a different reality and kill every villan he can except for one 🃏
You should reconsider your opinion on basements. When they are well kept they are awesome. Fun summer fact, basements are generally much cooler burning heat waves. When I was a kid we had a picnic table in the basement along with one fan. When it was 100F/ 38C it was quite comfortable. The family would hang out down there most of the summer. When I was a teen most of my friends families had furnished basements with TV's couches, pool tables etc.
The weather is one of the reasons why the U.K. hasn't traditionally gone in for basements. Other things we use less than the U.S. for weather reasons are air conditioning and drive-in cinemas. Although in the Current Situation a racecourse near me has adapted by opening up a drive-in (when it's not being used as a vaccination centre).
This film is brilliant. I like the whole story and character development of the film and the villains are so well constructed, and this whole trilogy is amazing.
Nope, Thomas Wayne is usually portrayed as being one of the few rich Gothamites who wasn't a total tool. He was a doctor and he did a lot of work for the poor in that role, and he also used his wealth and influence to do a lot for the community. Depending on the version of the story, the fact that he was killed by a robber is made more tragic because Gotham's awful wealth disparity resulted in a poor person turning to crime and killing one of the only rich people actually working to help him and all the rest of the less fortunate citizens of Gotham, or the robbery was staged and other corrupt Gothamites of influence had him murdered because he was a pain in their ass because all his work for the community clashed with their interests. Sure, there are versions where he's shown to be to a lesser or greater extent part of the rich elite and even a bad guy, but the most common portrayal of Bruce's parents is that they were very rich but they were good people, and that, along with Alfred's influence, is what gave Bruce the solid moral compass that made him the man he is and pushed him to overcome the tragedy of their death the way the did.
theres always some intepretation that it was a mob boss, or currupt wayne executive or conspiracy by the Court of Owls, but I prefer the ones where it was a random unplanned crime.
He didn't train the bats. Bats are almost completely blind, so they find their way with high frequency sounds. He put a high frequency sound device in his boot, and he started it, triggering the bats.
Yes, complete the trilogy! This is probably the most realistic and grounded depiction of these characters we've ever seen or will see by a director that knows what he's doing. I was thankful that we got much more complete supporting characters bolstered by a truly great cast people were introduced to Lucius Fox, Ra's Al Ghul, Jonathan Crane, Carmine Falcone, and they were given at the least solid motivations and at the msot compelling back stories and some damn good lines of dialogue - especially Lucius and Alfred, they're both much cooler "mentor" characters to Bruce than Ducard could've been. "Didnt you get the memo" is such a classic meme now too! Love it!
It's the grounded and realistic approach which led to the whole fake Ra's thing to explain how he could "come back from the dead" rather than the "immortal thanks to Lazarus Pits" of other versions. That's also why Batman was rebooted again after this for his next screen appearance against Superman. The realistic tone of the trilogy doesn't really fit with "and then he fought an indestructible flying alien".
9:30 Bruce does not follow his emotions in how he deals with justice. He has a rules-based justice system that he follows strictly. One of those rules is: do not kill.
Qui Gon did reach Imortality!!!!⚡ Lol Easly one of my favorite Trilogy's 🦇 "The training is nothing the will is everything"🤘 Looking forward to seeing your reactions to these masterpieces 👍
Maybe check out the show Gotham. It happens when Bruce is still a child/teen and the villain are just starting out. We follow it from Detective Gordon's perspective so it's kinda a detective show too.
3:50 I know in the movie they mention certain things the Wayne’s have done to help people (giving money during the Depression, helping the Underground Railroad etc.) the same can be said in the comics that the Wayne’s tried to help Gotham. In fact in The Three Jokers, Joe Chill (the man who killed Bruce’s parents) realized the pain he caused to the city when he killed them and said he would do anything to see Bruce again and say he’s sorry. An amazing moment in a somewhat meh comic imo.
You need to watch Superman: The Movie (Director’s Cut), which pretty much showed how popular the superhero genre would be, and that they’re not just for “kids”.
@20:43 There is a BTS clip on Twitter where Dr. Crane inhale his own toxin and see's the fear toxin bat cowl in special effect. Batman looks more like a demon in real life in that clip.
Those who praise forgiveness have never had to seek revenge and some judge those who do want vengeance and call them selfish(which I don't see how they could be). When they lose someone they love like Bruce did, then they will understand why some folks would choose revenge over forgiveness. At the end of the day, it's up to the person anyway.
Funny plot hole: if the microwave machine vaporizes water, and water composes 70 percent of the human body, then everyone in proximity of the effect should have been gruesomely exploding into a gross steamy red vapor of body fluids.
The murder of the Waynes has been done to saturation. The MCU finally did a Spidey workout his saturated “origin”. At this point Uncle Ben and Thomas and Martha’s deaths are so much a part of pop culture that they should be common knowledge by now!
Ra's Al Ghul is sort of immortal in the comics, but this Nolan trilogy deliberately avoids any sort of supernaturalism or 'super powers' in the narrative to better ground this more mature version of Gotham in reality. It's part of the reason the trilogy worked so well in pioneering the idea of blockbuster comic book films as being for adults as much as kids, by removing the garish cartoon silliness that was prevalent in the previous Batman films.
batman begins may be iconic....... but the dark knight is a gdam masterpiece of an action movie, not just a comic book movie. At least dark knight rises wasn't bad, i'd put it on the same vein as begins
Probably bit late for you to actually see this comment but just for the recrod the whole deal about how much collateral damage superheroes inflinct is kinda the entire premise of both 'Batman vs Superman' and 'Captain America Civil War' (not gonna weigh in the quality of either of those films as movies but just saying the vast amounts of damage the cities take in most superhero movies IS adressed at least somewhat ;)

This is my favourite Christopher Nolan film. The two elements he struggles to balance, his head and his heart, are both judged perfectly here.
Bruce's father was not a businessman, he was a doctor.
he never minded a little blood on his hands
He was technically both.
