    This makes no sense how many people will actually do all that what happened to the hood ol days when we had a dip stick to check transmission 🤦🏽‍♂️ it’s like they want people to break they stuff now

    Needs to be running in neutral before you pull the check valve fo correct level.

    For anyone else with the 2.0L, the fill hole is under the battery and inaccessible. Rather than take the battery out, I got the car level, removed that side bolt (while the car is running), and used a water syringe to pump oil in that way. Put the bolt back in before you turn the car off or it'll pour out! It was shifting funny and took about 250ml/8oz so hopefully it's fixed.

    Is it safe to drain the fluid right after a drive to warm up the engine/trans, and then just fill it with 5 quarts? No one seems to know the capacity.
    Thanks 🙏

      That is incorrect. I researched this extensively before I purchased my 2017 Malibu Premier 2.0T
      2016 - 2018 all 1.5L transmissions are 8-speed, not CVT.
      2019 - Present all are CVT.
      2016 - Present all Premier 2.0L are 9-speed

      Car manufacturers are doing away with all dipsticks..so at some point you'll have to buy a new car or keep buying cars older than 2017

      I would recommend the Malibu man it's really fairly easy to maintain... Changing all four spark plugs took like 20 minutes... Who sings the oil regularly and use the GDI / turbo cleaner about once every 20,000 miles.. when the car is running strong at 125k miles, just did all 4 shocks and rear sway bar bushing too rides smooth..Transmission fluid is a little bit of a pain but I plan to make a video how to do it ridiculously easy...

    1 mistake. You must warm the car to operating temps before checking. Makes all the difference. Pull your dipstick on a car that has 1 when’s it’s cold and compare to fluid level when it’s warmed up. You can’t get accurate check without fluid been warm.

      This car has no dipstick... hense the "level check plug" Thanks Chevy for making our lives harder

      @@niccytabby2 ohh the old dipstickless . I built a 2019 Malibu premier for my wife it was that way. I had to do the same procedure. A lot of GMs trans are that way now.

      It has to be to operating temperature around 177 before it’s checks or other words it will come out the plug regardless. Inaccurate reading. Running while checked

      If you’re looking at the engine bay, locate battery and at the top left corner in between the engine and the battery if you shine a light you’ll see the black cap

    Is there a filter in the transmission?

    • @Beast-rz9cd
      @Beast-rz9cd 8 месяцев назад

      Yes a pain in the ass because diy can’t access it unless you have experience pulling a transmission so best bet would be a shop
