Goldies would be excellent guard dogs. They wouldn't scare away burglars, but they would prevent them from looking for things to steal by captivating them with their cuteness.

And that's how a golden retriever will protect your home.
our golden barks really roughly and appears dangerous (😀) when I enter my mom’s house unexpectedly it takes 40-50 seconds for him to realize who is here and then he immediately becomes a fluffy-puffy (I assume he took it after his brother (cocker spaniel), who’s really protective by his nature our previous dog, also retriever but flat coated (the black one), wasn’t as protective as this golden

Yes...they just approach any body for inviting and approve anybody to enter...thank God,we have 12 Indian dogs in our home..to protect them.
