Looks like they already have perfect parents…and the best big brother that a new puppy could ever dream of! The look of instant attraction was written all over Bailey’s face…and the puppy’s life is now going to be the absolute best it can be! Friends for life!
Treasure the time you have with these wonderful creatures. They are marvels of life. There will come a time when you will have to decide that it is best not to have such companions. That day will come when you know they will outlive you, and there is nothing they want less than to live without the people they are devoted to. I’m 73 now and know that no matter how much I want the joy of a puppy, the excitement, the time together, it is selfish knowing that the odds are not in my favor. I miss the life they bring. And having my share of those who await me at rainbow bridge, it is best to see videos like this and live in my memories.
Oh, chances are you’ll be able to live to be much older these days. There are so many centenarians now. We got our third golden when my husband was 70. He does retriever training with her, takes her hunting geese and pheasants and they have the time of their lives together. Her name is Ella Rose and she is absolutely in love with my husband.

Goldens are the most patient dogs ever. Just lay there calm while the little ones (puppies or toddlers) play with their ears, or pet them, or try to wrestle them. Everything is gentle.

@patsybury2526 We park our pup sometimes (almost 6 so no energetic teenager anymore) with a neighbour who lost their last dog about a year ago. She says the same thing you did, too old to handle a bigdog/pup especialy full time, but an afternoon is perfect for them both. I'm sure you can find someone close by who needs a dog sitter for their furrball every once in a while... can't hurt to try right? 😊

We rescued a golden retriever, Abby several years ago. From our experience you can't go wrong with a golden. Although she was older she always amazed us. Smart loving and would actually tell us what was on her mind, many would know about this. We miss her and are thankful she was so much involved in our life.
A guy can't get a second of peace...Never in this home, that's for sure. !!! HEAVEN!!!

My golden retriever was like this when I first bought home a 16 week old King Charles Cavalier and he suddenly acted like a young pup again...then 3 hours later, he stopped and sulked as if he realized this little guy wasn't going home and was going to stay! The sulking went on for a whole week, and ignored the puppy...no matter how many times the puppy tried to play with hem, tugging at his ear..running over his back, dragging toys around barking...he only moved to get food and drink, or go to the toilet, refused treats and walks...then a week later out of nowhere, while the whole family were watching tv one night...he got up and took a toy and swung in front of the puppy's nose...and they started playing and never stopped...as if to say I guess you really aren't going anywhere I may as well teach you a few things. Our golden retriever passed away in 2016, and our cavalier is now a senior....this video made me think about excitment of when they first met...well for the first few hours anyway.. :P
