***** saw that same thing. somebody throw him at the 2 spot and tell him to put on some weight! He doesn't have that vision you need to run point at the elite level.
Noticed that off the bat. Did you notice he didn't create as much seperation as White Chocolate either?!?! Jason is BY FAR the better PG in my opinion.
1:58 - That's what made Jason Williams so great. The threat of him dishing it off to an open man in stride was so terrifying that the defender left the lane wide open for a layup.
J-Will had those fools guessing haha...never knew what he was going to do, they would part the way for him because they thought he would pass. J-will worked half as hard as Rivers and did twice as much...great player
He was a GOOD player the first 5 years of his career. After that he was just an average point guard. You watch him make flashy plays in a glorified rec league and you make a statement that at 40 years old he'd be in the top 20% of players in the NBA!? That's hilarious...considering he was never even an elite player in his prime. Nevermind at 40. But keep watching highlight reels and keep those stupid comments going !
Williams just makes basketball look so effortless... even at his age now and obviously father time has slowed him down but his skill level is so high, its like slow motion! Pleasure to watch!
A see Rivers runs through defenders using his speed and I like it. But then I see Williams walking through defenders without even sweating and I'm like whoaaa
***** I don't think it was really an option. Him an coach K had a strained relationship probably because Austin was a black hole. He is not really a point guard as you already know. Hopefully he finds a system that works for his style of play...
Camelot That is true. He did come from a bad relationship with Coach K and thats never good ;( but this past season, it seems like he found his nitch with the Clippers
A great player makes his teammates look good as well... Jason Williams had his TEAM involved... Austin Rivers tried to do everything himself(at least in this clip)... Even in the pros, Jason Williams was a great passer. Austin, isn't a great scorer in the NBA... I'd take an older Jason before a younger Austin...
***** top college talent is nothing like NBA talent. He's practicing and playing with nba talent everyday. If he was in college he would play against 1 or 2 nba players every week and wouldn't get the same experience
***** nah he wasn't as productive as those guys. I'm saying staying in college wouldn't help him be a better nba player long term. It would've just helped him have a better rookie year. And you're right he has holes in his game he needs to work on, like his left. But in college he would've never been exposed and forced to work on them holes like he was in the nba
He could be a player/coach for them right now. I know the new owner loves having former players around, he has richmond and mullins on staff, even though mullins wasnt a king, J-Will was a legend there.
This has to be one of THE worst Pro Am's I've ever watched, well, from a RUclips perspective. Crowd is dull as hell, and there are many seats to be filled. How does J. Will not draw a crowd? Dude is still pretty damn good. Give it up, Orlando.
+smlbcity23 Well as you can see he's actually a really skilled dribbler and shooter. But he also likes to hog the ball in this...probably stays true in the NBA plays like an SG but doesnt have the size for it. No wonder he comes off the bench.
+M. Mailloux skilled?not so much but more of a quick step or mini cross n quick to the hole. Plus he cant dribble left. jwill is fluid with the ball where rivers is more out of control.
He should of never came out early, she should of stayed and developed his point guard skills. He's in a weird space because he's 6'3 or 6'4 but he cant play point at the NBA level and he's too small to play 2
I remember watching his pregame warm up. And he has one ugly shot. But in this clip, he looks better. 2) He can blow by ppl in the NBA, but he cannot finish.
His old ass had no explosiveness with the ball like rivers but you can tell his basketball IQ is still in tact. Dude is 42 ,rivers is 23 lmao. Both are dope. Huge generational gap. Can't compare yet rivers just starting out.
thats whats beautiful about the games of basketball. You can be a little bit slower and like you said not have your explosiveness, but if you have a high IQ and a sense of anticipation for what the defense is going to do, you can be a valuable player.
Yeah he still has quickness and just court sense. Austin was explosive but you could see the defenders could keep up while Jason always frees himself from his defenders despite not being as explosive.
I ddnt finish watching the whole thing but I can tell a lot of differences between their games/ how they play. Austin loves to dribble a lot before he takes a shot. Whereas, J Will keeps it simple and efficient. Two dribbles then shoot. Not only he gets buckets but he involves his team mates with a few alley oops.
If J-will just had a consistent jumper and learned to managed the game like stockton he could have been one of the greats. Bibby was a better player in their primes but J-will's talent could have made him better than Bibby. Bibby just knew when to take over make crucial plays. J-will while had flashes of brilliance couldnt make the leap. But he'll still be one of my favorite players just for his pure skill.
itz so funny, Jason so smooth, he lookz like he movin slow but itz just he so cool out there, every1 else goin in and he just casually comes down and smackz a 3pt shot effortlessly, lol, i fux wit white chocolate since college, very underrated guard....
Austin rivers own team should be overseas cause when he steps on the floor in the nba he is easily in the bottom 3rd of the league in effort and talent ( TERRIBLE defender, low percentage volume shooter with semi-flashy handles). Jason Williams was better in the NBA than AR could ever dream of being..and shit AR is playing with a top 5 talent in Anthony Davis. Think if J Will had AD to throw oops too..would have been too scary.
Busse John You clearly haven't watched him play. Firstly, he is a decent defender, not great but ok. Volume shooter, his usage rate for career is 19%, less than a fifth of the avaliable shots. His handles are also fairly stock standard. Is he a good player? no. Is he average? not yet. Did J Will have a better career then Austin will, probably. But please know what you're insulting before you insult it
He is most definitely a below average defender. But if you want to bring up stats as far as whether he is a volume scorer or not look at his per rating ( 5.9 rookie yr and below 11 his 2nd yr, with the league average being a 12.56) this will show you that while he doesn't take many shots compared to everyone else he is highly inefficient at scoring. This is alarming because he is a shooting guard and shoots the rock around 40%. He only played so much last year because of early injuries and actually had many dnp-coaches decisions before other guards went down which should tell you how good he is for a 10th pick to not even be playing on an already poor pelicans team. Just admit he's inefficient and that maybe ppl put a little too much hype in his last name.
I'm surprised Rivers chose to handle the ball so much. Would've thought he'd use something like this to work on weaknesses in his game rather than just playing to his strengths and using his quickness to blow by guys for a layup. He's already found out he can't do that in the NBA
Rivers worked really hard, but JWilliams is just different. He saw the plays before they happened so he was just easy smooth with it without breaking a sweat.
I could never figure out what it was about Rivers crossover that made it look so stiff..I thought it was something with his arms..but he doesnt really extend the ball at all
The only difference with these two are is J-Will actually passes. If you see in the highlights J-Will made lots of great passes and all of Austin's highlights came from scoring. And on a side note J-Will crossed him numerous times.
The difference is, Williams goes ahead and scores when he has the advantage, but doesn't hesitate to pass the ball up when his teammate has a better shot. He's just looking to get the highest quality shot and isn't as concerned with how much he scores. Rivers wants to score even if that means forcing a bad shot. It makes me wonder if he learned anything from Coach K because I doubt he thinks that is the best strategy.
Look guys....J Will is nice and has killer handles ( just a step below Rafer Alison) but the reality is that he getting buckets on bums!!!!! Pro - AM filled with Juco and D2 players.....The track to this is dope !!!! ..
I like Rivers he just gotta get comfortable & familiar i think he'll ne solid he should be AR15 needa change his number to 15 if it ain't taken already
Notice Austin Rivers never passed the ball once in his highlights? lol ...White Chocolate was dope in the NBA.
***** saw that same thing. somebody throw him at the 2 spot and tell him to put on some weight! He doesn't have that vision you need to run point at the elite level.
Matt Hawkins yeah I think he'll be better at the 2 also
+Mike Locke notice that too,lol.
Noticed that off the bat. Did you notice he didn't create as much seperation as White Chocolate either?!?! Jason is BY FAR the better PG in my opinion.
rivers became shit in the NBA
It doesnt' get much smoother than White Chocolate.
only when it's black chocolate.
***** nah i doubt that
***** I swear thats true lmaaoooooo
I rather have Jason WIlliams at this age in my team then Rivers
UGNS who wouldnt lol
+Denis Ilyayev The clips obviously lol
+Sloan Jackson certified dumbass

Jason Williams is still better then 80% of the NBA today. He deserved more credit while he was active in the NBA.
Maybe like 60%
+Thomas T lol not even
Maybe the stupidest comment I've read in awhile...80% omg
Josh Martins - Maybe the most stupidest comment I've saw commented on another post.
He was a GOOD player the first 5 years of his career. After that he was just an average point guard. Austin Rivers should've stayed another year at Duke. I feel like he came out too early
I was literally thinking this while I scrolled onto your comment. I agree; it would've done wonders for him.
***** Sheldon Williams stayed 3 year and he still turned out to be trash.
Da1shocker he was never that great to begin with lol
***** I don't think it was really an option. Him an coach K had a strained relationship probably because Austin was a black hole. He is not really a point guard as you already know. Hopefully he finds a system that works for his style of play...

AustinR never does this in the nba tho
Didn't in college either
kurosaki ichigo lol
Rivers Better off joining And1 because he will never be an NBA Allstar.
Shawn Adams hes got jason williams teaching him how to carry on every single cross over- might as well go to AND1
Shawn Adams Just doubting that man i can't wait til he start making some noise lol
I'm not hating on Austin but it seems like he's trying so hard in those pickup games, compared to J-Will who makes it seem effortless! Am i right?
I was thinking the same thing. If Austin needs to try hard to perform against these guys, then no wonder he can't even dribble in the NBA lmao.
Whenever a young kid goes up against a legend u know he's taking it up a notch just competitive nature
old school vs. no school
I'm responsible for one of the thumbs up on your post.
Still haven't seen an around the back elbow pass done in game in nba since him
austin rivers should've stayed in school for all four years instead of coming out early after just one year
***** What are you talking about? Everyone says that he should've stayed lol.
***** how does he get better by staying in college than playing against nba talent? That staying in college crap only affects your first 2 seasons.
***** it's not about the money. Are you saying he would develop better against lesser talent? What kind of logic is that?
***** top college talent is nothing like NBA talent. He's practicing and playing with nba talent everyday. If he was in college he would play against 1 or 2 nba players every week and wouldn't get the same experience

At 0:20, he's got nothing on Jcrossovers backwards between the legs dribble.
Only difference is Jason Williams was actually pretty decent in the NBA lol
Man Jason Williams is blacker than Eminem...
MrBrenman21 smart guys aren't racist youtubers without lives.
k.
+Shaquille O'Neal But I'm the real slim shady! All you other slim shady's are just imitating!
Its amazing you can get that many highlights from one game and that J-Will still has it.
Where does Jason williams play now? he seems pretty active in pro ams and overseas
obviously, white chocolate won this match up.
White Chocolate vs Chocolate Vanilla Swirl?
Points to this man!
lol
2 years after you posted it and it's still funny as hell. True also
This was badassss!! Those moves and shots Got me saying a quick "whuu!!!" Every 6 seconds
Come back to sac j will show these youngsters how it's done.
He could be a player/coach for them right now. I know the new owner loves having former players around, he has richmond and mullins on staff, even though mullins wasnt a king, J-Will was a legend there.
Anyone notice that jwill split the defense in half?💀🏀
This has to be one of THE worst Pro Am's I've ever watched, well, from a RUclips perspective. Crowd is dull as hell, and there are many seats to be filled. How does J. Will not draw a crowd? Dude is still pretty damn good. Give it up, Orlando.
Nah, I ended it when I was done with my rant. Have a good day though.

Lots of cool action here, great video
jwills facilitates much more than pgs in the nba today and you can see that in this video.
The move at 1:01 is one of my favorites to watch. A lot of guys do it but it's just still so smooth and yet so difficult to pull off at the same time.
White chocolate is way better than that overrated half chocolate. Till this day i still dont get the hype of austin rivers.....
His dad is Doc Rivers that's why.
smlbcity23 Austin isn't a bad player, he just doesn't belong in the Clippers.
+Luciferus200581 nba*
+smlbcity23 Well as you can see he's actually a really skilled dribbler and shooter. But he also likes to hog the ball in this...probably stays true in the NBA plays like an SG but doesnt have the size for it. No wonder he comes off the bench.

That's incredible how neither one of them ever missed a shot!
Rivers has lightning reflexes and handles but from this video White Chocolate still wins with better passing and court vision.
those handles by J.Williams ! and those dunks OMG
He should of never came out early, she should of stayed and developed his point guard skills. He's in a weird space because he's 6'3 or 6'4 but he cant play point at the NBA level and he's too small to play 2
ur an idiot
I remember watching his pregame warm up. And he has one ugly shot. But in this clip, he looks better.
2) He can blow by ppl in the NBA, but he cannot finish.
I really think he could've been or even could be an elite pg in the league.
should've.
Is Doc coaching this Orlando Pro Am too.
Please, someone tell me what the music is on this video
J still have a bit left in him.
anyone knows which shoes does Jason William wear? (Green/Orange one) Thanks,
Wish Austin Rivers played with this much confidence in a regular season NBA game
Austin played really well this year in the playoffs
Austin Rivers had one if the best hoopsmixtapes of all time
His old ass had no explosiveness with the ball like rivers but you can tell his basketball IQ is still in tact. Dude is 42 ,rivers is 23 lmao. Both are dope. Huge generational gap. Can't compare yet rivers just starting out.

+Anthony Stone exactly, finally someone who thinks its not about handles, athleticism etc.
Yeah he still has quickness and just court sense. Austin was explosive but you could see the defenders could keep up while Jason always frees himself from his defenders despite not being as explosive.
Austin rivers underrated ive always been a fan he he deserves atleast a 81 overall on 2k
I had no idea Austin Rivers was so quick.
His crossover looks fast. Faster than his high school days definitely.
kurosaki ichigo Lol!
kurosaki ichigo Look at his Pop's NBA career Lmao.
his pop is wayyyy better than him
kurosaki ichigo Lol!
Where u at Austin?
1:26 as you call that ball movement?
I ddnt finish watching the whole thing but I can tell a lot of differences between their games/ how they play. Austin loves to dribble a lot before he takes a shot. Whereas, J Will keeps it simple and efficient. Two dribbles then shoot. Not only he gets buckets but he involves his team mates with a few alley oops.
What's the instrumental
WHITE CHOCOLATE IS STILL THE FUCKING MAN!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!
That song though I want to download it
it's amazing watching williams go half speed and still cook these guys
Best flashy passing pg that i've ever seen.
What the name of this sick beat
zeokenX aye that really funny bitch
shaquan mizell Hey what's going on here?
Elite - AJ on the beat
Darude sandstorm
1:36 Austin threw the bate out and ol' boy bit hard! (pause) lol
but at 1:04 tho!!! lol
Jarvis Carter Oh Shit!!! I didn't even notice that one! lol
If J-will just had a consistent jumper and learned to managed the game like stockton he could have been one of the greats. White chocolate skills is pure. He was put on this earth to play ball
That hesi at 1:00 looked so simple but froze those 2 defenders haha.
Song!
so who won?
fkn beat!!!....somebody know what's that?? J.Williams have amazing rock handle !!!!!!!
j. will givin em lite work while rivers is goin all out.
🔥🔥🔥
J Williams in his late 30's and he's still balling on those young kats and making look very easy.
itz so funny, Jason so smooth, he lookz like he movin slow but itz just he so cool out there, every1 else goin in and he just casually comes down and smackz a 3pt shot effortlessly, lol, i fux wit white chocolate since college, very underrated guard....
JW gave him the business im sure.
AR needs his own team.. Sixers or Pacers need to be calling
The sixers have MCW.
Austin rivers own team should be overseas cause when he steps on the floor in the nba he is easily in the bottom 3rd of the league in effort and talent ( TERRIBLE defender, low percentage volume shooter with semi-flashy handles). I was wearing the exact same shorts as Austin Rivers while watching this :/
If Prigioni played in his 30's and averaged 16 mpg and Calderon still plays in the NBA, J-Will can be a decent bench player.
Rivers worked really hard, but JWilliams is just different. He saw the plays before they happened so he was just easy smooth with it without breaking a sweat.
why fast forward their moves?
J Will is still so smooth man..
I think the last time i seen rivers ball like this was when...... OH WAIT! This is about "the only time" rivers has balled out😂💯
I could never figure out what it was about Rivers crossover that made it look so stiff..I thought it was something with his arms..but he doesnt really extend the ball at all
J will still has it
Say what you want about austin rivers in the nba but his mixtapes are 🔥
he's still got it.
Their game never leaves
I love basketball.
I didn't see one play with those two against each other. I think Jason would school him!
J dub could easily come off the bench, I mean I know this was 8 years ago, but hell he was killing it...

White chocolate still has it!
i think rivers is gonna be a star!
am I the only one who thinks Austin is a offseason player or he just doesn't do all this in the nba?
jwill needs to show rivers how to use the left hand
Jwill is so smooth
It looks like Rivers was putting more effort into every move while J-Will is just moving.
jason williams master !
1:28 1:49 1:56 2:05 Austin's defense is still atrocious
Austin rivers is a bunch of hype coming out of college
classic jwill from the heat days
J Williams makes it look easy!
who did it better in the NBA tho
Odviously white chocolate is a legend. This kid cant compair
I'm I the only one who misses seeing white chocolate playing
I miss it a lot. Was wildly entertaining!
jason willaiams still wants to play but no one give him a chance .but from the mixtape austin rivers look like he going to have a breakout season
Look guys....J Will is nice and has killer handles ( just a step below Rafer Alison) but the reality is that he getting buckets on bums!!!!! Pro - AM filled with Juco and D2 players.....The track to this is dope !!!!
..
Bro yo saying pro am is bums ? dude myplayer is a 95 overall
I like Rivers he just gotta get comfortable & familiar i think he'll ne solid he should be AR15 needa change his number to 15 if it ain't taken already
j.will could be in the league still
Hell no
Conclusion: The word "passing" is nowhere to be found in Austin River's dictionary...
