Thank you so much for all the tips and tricks. I'm retired Texas highway department and I am on a fishing adventure of a lifetime. I spent my childhood reading about Pike and muskie in outdoor life and Field & stream. I am on a mission to catch my first Pike 👍 I'm here outside of Roosevelt national park, waiting for the ice out on Sak.
Hey from south Sweden here! Actually from Svängsta, 300yrds from the ABU factory is where I live! I fish for pike ONLY, nothing else, ever! I have just watched a few mins of this video and I really like you telling that everyone sucks at the beginning because I'm fairly new to fishing, and I have struggled as hell.. But, I have focused on learning to fish my lures and baitcasters all winter thru when it wasn't below freezing and I feel alot more confident in what to do to get a better catch rate, and am applying it to my fishing, which I started to focus on catching the last month. Have had a few so seems to work.. we'll see in the end of the year :)
@@FishcastAngling I use the nickle titanium leader material knot 2 kinky, its awesome, doesn't kink. Bitch to tie though, requires tools, really good for flies though. Check it out
Ok so now it’s 70+ not quite 80 degree water. I find pike in back weedy bays feeding only in the morning. The coolest part of the day. I caught a 34” on a whopper plopper 110. Musky butt. It was a killer strike.

Thanks for watching! Hope your mission goes well!!! Sakakawea doesn’t always have high numbers of pike but definitely has quality!
@@FishcastAngling .... Which lake do you recommend for high numbers?
Nice

Come September, the shallows should start firing up for larger pike fishing again
Hard to beat a whopper plopper bite! Good work!
I have a mold for a plastic lure similar to what you have. Cool .. maybe I could make something.
That’s sweet! Yeah they aren’t always the easiest to get ahold of
Good vidéo pike fishing 100% catch and release ?
@@pierrehenneguez6648 I catch and release the big ones, occasionally harvest some smaller pike
