The Ancient Magus Bride is such a beautiful, dark, and magical show. It's a very unique and different show but they do such a phenomenal job building up the world and characters.
First episode spoilers for a little context: Chise, the main character had a troubled childhood and to escape it sells herself into slavery. But the skull faced guy Elise buys her and makes her his apprentice.

One of my favorite anime and the manga is so successful you'd be surprised by how many spinoffs and side stories it has. It has a very unique portrayal of magic, drawing heavily from celtic beliefs and showing that our general use of fae as simple fairies is very very dumbed down from what they truly are: ancient gods and spirits of nature. In fact, you'll find even mundane things in the series like Chise's hair & eye color or festivals have mythical significance

The anime is basically beauty and the beast except the beast is a powerful magic user that saved the beauty from slavery aka the red head in the vid. The skeleton guy aka the beast in this case only has a head of a skeleton. Everything else is flesh and bone. He also has a humanoid form he uses in public. He is half human and half Alfie or something. The Alfie's look more human but because his human blood and Alfie blood didn't mix well he ended up looking more like a monster.
