Love the 8000 series I used to work for a Deere dealer and the 8000s were my favorite to work on. So straightforward, 10 and 20 series was alright, 30 is when I started not caring for them as much.
@@CheeseMiser since that time I went out on my own, work on all the old stuff, don’t regret it one bit. The dealers sure know how to put a farmer over a barrel and yank his pants down when he’s needing service
First new tractor of this platform I operated was an 8210. It was a pretty good tractor for the most part. It definitely couldn't handle the Vermeer hydraulic twin rakes and would overheat the system like previous JD tractors.
Have you ever heard or used the JD clutch adjusting tool to be used when you replace clutch components? I know a guy looking for one and his different JD dealers do not have one nor can he find one on the internet. Might be listed in the special tools sections of a JD manual. Thanks for anyone that can give a heads up!
I love these, our farm used to have an 8400 and it was probably the best tractor we’ve ever had, it was never in the shop and the thing was a beast. I loved it but unfortunately as the farm grew bigger it became pretty much useless and we traded it for an 8530 :(
It states multiple times in the video that these are changes made in the later model 8x00 series? do these changes affect all the 96 models? Or do they start in the 97 model year when they change the motor and the side decals?
I love this tractor but we’ve had reliability issues with all John Deere’s. GREAT tractors but all the comfort doesn’t mean much if you can’t rely on it to start when you need it to.
@@ralphllivrah9551 I’m sorry I don’t agree with you, but you don’t have to go straight to insulting me. We do maintain them, and it only gets as much abuse as a regular dairy farm throws at it. And no I am not lying, I said I love the tractors and they are great tractors but you have to agree they suck in the cold. Or maybe you can’t say anything is wrong with a Deere. I’m not saying they’re unreliable, but I don’t want to fiddle for an hour in the cold when an international will start on the first couple cranks EVERY TIME. We are aloud to have differing opinions and I think that the dt466 and the 8.3 Cummins were the two best engines ever put in a tractor that size. Deere’s do have there place and we own multiple but for our operation we prefer case, international, and case ih. Sorry, but that’s just MY opinion.
@@netlossfarms7335 I really didn’t mean for it to be so harsh. Hard to convey ribbing on the internet. I just can’t make myself use those smiley faces.
The best tractor ever built, in the past, today, and in the future.
Greatest combination of modern technology and old reliability. Still worth 70,000
The original farmall and john deere b.
Agreed

They introduced the electronics to cause problems

I feel old. I remember when these where new. Truly a different time...
I love this tractor. The 8300 was the first John Deere Tractor, I've ever took a seat in.
Same
I rode in a brand new 8100 when I was 6 years old, that cab was huge
We had a 8400 on our farm. Fantastic tractor. Used it on the Forager and the Bailer

When we were young my cousin and I invented "command leg" controls to spoof this.. included it in all of our tractor drawing haha
Hello.
Thank you very much for the vidéo.👍👍👍👍
One of the true classics !!!!!!👍👍👍
The best tractors ever made
And thats completely false
Still some of the best tractors made
They really keep their resale value !!!!
We run a 8100 and it's the best tractor
I run em all day and they just keep going day and night.
Do you have a video for the john deere 9100 or the 9000 series

The 4020 of the 90's and 2000's well except of course that these were a lot more comfortable and reliable!
The 10-20 series are alright, except for the lack of accerator pedal

Correct on the motor and decal change.
After the motor change, serial numbers after 10000
Why would the oil pressure gauge not be included in the basic cab?

Then you are abusing them, not maintaining them, or lying. They were the best ever made.

Awesome
I have just bought a second hand one
The best of the best is the 8410 nothing else sounds like it
I've never wanted to shift so much
👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪🚜🚜🚜🚜
That’s some cool stuff!
Probably cost more 2nd now than when new
Man Case and Allis had optional ground Radar since the 80s think deere was a little late to the game
....so did John Deere. please do some research.
This was a tractor with a computer in it. Today's tractors are computers on wheels.
They fucked up the throttle. The Lever is practically non existent
