How to install a new roof Over a single wide
In this video we are installing a rubber roof over a mobile home in oak island NC
First of all we installed strapping over the mobile home to except the OSB Plywood with a six inch over hang.
After Installing the OSB Plywood we install EPDM Rubber roofing over the entire structure using Sub straight glue 100%glue down. The final steps are to install the pipe caps and termination bar on the eaves.
Not all people will do this like we do and that is ok with me. This is just 1 way to do it.

In this video we are able to show you more steps to the project. My Crew and I have been listening to my Viewers and we know what you want to see.. You can see in this video the steps we take to get where it is at the end. LOL if you get that. If there is anything I can do to help you be able to do this on your own just ask. Material List For This Job
20 Sheets of OSB
10- 2x4 by 12 ft for sub facia to be attached to
210- Ft of 1x4s
1-bags of Termination Screws inch and 5/8s x 250 per bag
1- pound of Stainless steel Nails 1 inch for Facia
1- roll EPDM 20x 50 with left overs
12 pieces of Term Bar for Holding Down EPDM at edges
1- 5 gallon bucket of Water base sub straight Glue
1 Gallon of Seam Cleaner
1 roll of 6 inch Seam Tape
A metal break can be rented
We are installing a Rubber roof over an existing Metal roof you would see on a trailer. This trailer is flat and had been kool sealed many times. Drew;s Roofing and home Repair will come to you and do this if you live within 12 hrs or so of me. at 28461

Latex glue baby its not coming off. I was one of the 1st to use Mule hide latex adhesive 25 years ago. Actually helped them test it in the field, we learned that it doesn't work going vertical( such as parapet walls.) Shout out to Ken Long from Mulehide (ABC supply) who rept this product for them many years ago ... may he rest in peace.
I've done 100s of rubber roofs on rvs,you must have new wood so the glue can absorb into the wood to hold the rubber down.thats the right way to do it.

You Do have to use a glue specifically made for EPDM though - read your label.

I don’t think so to be honest with you I think I’m just about the only person doing this Rubber Roof right now besides the people that are learning from me and doing like me maybe you can find somebody in Canada that would be willing to do it to your place
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Huh? I've been replacing older RV & mobile home roofs for 15 yrs with EPDM. Go to the Southwest and you can hardly take a step before tripping over someone installing it. Maybe it's just a new concept in Backwater, NC...

I would call a mobile home supply store near me and say who does Mobile Home roofing they might have the answer

Great job Drew. I have a small roofing company also but curious how you were able to reach into that market or how you found those type jobs. Also dealing with anything like pipes coming out of the roof. Seems like everytime we have done a roofing job on any type older models like this there is always something from hell coming out of the roof we can't find or replace.

If your roof has a good pitch on it in other words it’s not flat like most mobile homes are you could put metal but if it’s a flat roof no sir

Wondering where the ventilation is? Condensation between roofs will cause that osb to eventually mold n crumble. Or just turn to crumble over time. Just my opinion

it has to be empty the mobile home?, and do you have to take out the original metal roof or you just put above? and the plywood it is not to heavy for the trailer?
The plywood is not heavy at all as a matter fact it makes the loop at least in my opinion 10 times stronger. You take a 8 foot piece of plywood lay on five rafters and a piece of plywood‘s going to be pretty strong. There is no ventilation on this Mobile home. A big problem for this type of mobile home.

EPDM 20x 50? Who do you buy from, and what are the specs? Thickness? Is there a particular type?
EPDM RUBBER I buy it at ABC supply store. Look it up on google. I’m sure there is 1 near you. I use 0.45. Or 45 mill. You can get everything you need for the job at ABC

I’m not sure why but most of them are not vented through the roof here for some reason

I don’t know where you’re located but I would start with the mobile home supply company I would call them and ask them who does Mobile Home work in the area
Would I be able to do this in California? My roof has been repaired two times, but the issue keeps coming back... it seems it is leaking from the side to the inside of the mobile home.

This makes me so upset! I recently purchased a double wide and had the osb put down and then sealant paper and then shingles? Im not sure if that was a good choice or not... Im struggling with the appearance on the edges.. the gutter and drip edge... I wish I wouldve put down this stuff.. seems cheaper?

Well I live in North Carolina I would come in Texas if you wanted to pay for me to come there but I’m sure it would be kind of expensive from North Carolina to Texas. I wish I lived everywhere so I could help everybody because this is a great thing that I’m doing on these mobile homes and if more people seen it I probably would end up traveling more I need people to hit that like button so it shared we have been to Alabama but never Texas.
