- Part 5, and final part, Joe Frazier talks about his 1968 Olympic Championship run vs being professional, learning from the Ali fights, if he felt disrespected by Muhammad Ali, whether he, Ali or George Foreman could have beaten Joe Louis, having the movie Rocky and Sylvester Stallone based on his life in Philadelphia, and final thoughts about his own life.
Joe Frazier was one of the greatest fighters ever and yet such a humble gentleman. He was a class act.
Yea. Well said. Class act indeed.
How can you not like Joe? Humble man who feared the Lord. I love Joe
I am going ot Amen on that
Amen
Indeed! Joe Frazier's best fights were against Ali. They were literally War #1, War #2, and War #3. True gladiators in the ring.
he was a good man and had a good smile
My parents met Joe at a hospital around 1970. He was there giving support to a family who had lost a child due to some tragedy.
I meet Joe in a night club called the Play Den in providence RI in 1982. He had two body guards with him and I’m thinking why? He could probably take both of them at the same time. I was always a devoted fan of his and it’s funny you never realize how big these guys are because you see them on tv. I stopped him to introduce myself and told him I was a great fan of his. He spoke to me like he knew me all his life. He said hey Joe it’s always good to meet another Joe want you up to man? Me, trying to be funny I said 5 foot 4 but not getting any bigger. He laughed and said member it ain’t what ya got it’s what ya did with it. Then I shook hands with and his to mine was so big hid thumb was on my forearm and his grip was like a vice. Then he said “take it slow bro and nice to meet ya”. I will never forget him he loved his fans.
Rest in peace Smokin Joe Frazier....one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all times👍✊💪

I really love listening to Joe Frazier. The more he explained about his endeavors the more I see a very ordinary man who appreciates what he's provided with and all he can afford. No complaints but full of appreciation.
Thank you Joe Frazier........our Lord awaits you in His arms.
Great man RIP Joe
Joe was one of the greatest fighter of all time. What a left hook. He was a machine. Never stop.
It was a bomb !!! Take a normal man’s head off
@@randyrutherford1186 Joe's left hook was harder then Tysons but not as fast.
Joe Frazer is a proper champion of champions
A great heavyweight champion. One of the most determined fighters that ever lived. Huge heart and big left hook. One of the best of all time .
You can tell a lot about this man's character when he refers to Joe Louis as Mr. Louis
💯
I notice he called Ali by his muslim name mohamad in this interview ! In his early years it was always Clay.
Beautiful man rip😢
Joe frazier was such a great fighter and a great man so kind and humble
RIP CHAMP
What a humble man he was I’m sure he was a god fearing man Rest In Peace joe

I respected Joe. A real man's man. Ali, no comparison. Joe Frazier was a true Champion.
Rest in Peace, Joe-
As much as i love Ali i sit here crying like a baby when he describe the decision eddie futch made about hik not comimg out of the corner for the 15th. Only a fighter can understand that feeling of not wanting to quit.
We love you champ forever and thats on everything.
Yeah I feel the same way watching these old interviews! Ali was definitely my guy but Joe will always be my number 2 behind Ali! RIP Joe you and Ali gave us your best and we will never forget!!!!
Joe always kept his priorities straight. Love your neighbor, respect yourself and opposition, love and obide your parents, and live your life through the lord.
The likes of him and the many other great fighters and athletes of that era will never be seen again.
I got his autographed copy of his biography, forever grateful for his sacrifices in providing us with entertainment.
May he rest in peace forever in the lords kingdom, Thanks Joe.
Anyone that hit the thimbs down is obviously not a boxing fan. Hell anyone that could dislike this isnt a fan of character and or humble pride. R.I.P. smokin joe!!
God bless Joe, the man with the greatest boxing heart ever (next to Ali).
My hero right here, I will sorely miss him like a family member..
Stop being so dramatic John🙄
RIP Joe you were unfortunate to be around when Big George and the Greatest were still boxing. Thriller in Manila the greatest boxing match ever imo and even though I am an Ali fan you played your part in history. Respect
Joe Frazier--a true American hero.
That s a real man ! We were blessed to see him perform .
That's probably the best I've heard Joe speak. A humble man eventually 'thanks God'
He was always humble. He never talked badly about any of his opponents, calling Ali "Clay" is about the worst he did.
rip Frazier great champ and human being
Joe passed on 11/7/11 ....heavenly #'s for a beautiful soul ! Always thankful to The LORD !!
RIP SMOKIN JOE
R.I.P. Joe, I grew up watching your fights, you never backed down, you were definitely one of the greatest of all time, a gentleman and the real peoples champ
Joe was a class act, so humble RIP. Champ!!👊👊
wen Frazier fights he puts his life on the line thats y his fights with Ali r so epic
Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali are the greatest Heavyweights of all times. R.I.P champs
The term is “of all time. Just because because the uneducated Ali made the mistake of pluralizing time, everyone keeps continuing the mistake.
Joe you were the man!!!
Joe the warrior rip legend. Small guy fighting big heavyweight
Such an amazing spirit!!! Hard working and has a great heart. A warriors heart! Small for a heavy weight even back then, but always held his own. Bless you for all that you were and all that you are... SMOKIN JOE FRAZIER!!! ONE LOVE
Joe was a very humble man, who let his fists do the talking, I know styles make fights and Muhamma Ali may have had his own style of boxing but I have ears to hear and eyes to see and he was by far a better publists than a fighter any day all day.
Smokin Joe Frazier!!! The name will forever ring loud and far in the realm of the ring...I was a big fan back in the day and will always consider him one if the greatest to ever put on gloves.......
We love you Joe, we miss you, thanks for the memories. I pray you're in Heaven.
May God rest your soul Joe. You were my favorite heavyweight champ.
Poor Joe . A great boxer A great man RIP.
I can only assume the thumbs down are from people who don't like boxing as Joe is a true gentleman
Probably extremist ali fans who still think joe was some kind of Uncle Tom which is bullshit he was a gentleman
We love you “SMOKIN JOE FRAZIER’’
one of many true legends. from an era where the best boxers actually fought eachother, rather than have hand picked opponents and only fight once or twice a year, for ridiculous amounts of money like now. people always say the past is best but with boxing as with many sports it was....
I've always loved Joe Frazier. One of the greatest heavyweight champions ever.
i met him once at trump plaza in 1991 He was playing at a $15 blackjack table and taking every hand he played as serious as he was in the ring He even had that competitive look at the table
Joe Frazier was a great fighter and a great, humble man. I had the privilege of watching him fight Muhammad Ali and George Foreman and he was a true warrior. RIP Smokin Joe.
Great man!!
SUCH A GREAT CHAMPION! A CLASS ACT. SMOKING JOE WAS A TRUE WARRIOR! R.I.P., CHAMP!🥊
RIP Champ, You Will Live In My Heart Forever. Thanks For The Memories And Thanks For The Inspiration. This Interview Refers To The Trio (Joe, Ali, And George.) I Believe It should Have Referred To The Quadro (Adding Norton.)
Love and respect to this legendary man and fighter.
Thank you Joe, you were a gentleman, not a smart ass cocky person. A real man. Best of everthing you've done, you bet Ali, thank you for that.
Smokin Joe Frazier! One of the great fighters of our time. He just kept coming forward not jokin, but full of smokin!!! Luv watching his fights.
Joe was a beast in the ring,a class act outside the ring. RIH Champ.
Joe Frazier looks and seems like he never done a wrong thing in his life he always live life right he was a good man he lived in Philadelphia all of his life. I lived in Philadelphia I wish I would have been able to meet the man and shake his hand. They put up a statue of Sylvester Stallone before they put up a statue of Joe Frazier. Joe Frazier is the real champion of Philadelphia. Who the f*** is Sylvester Stallone he is just a fictional character who just made money of a story he made up that's all he never boxed he never won one fight it was all Make-Believe Joe Frazier was the real deal Joe Frazier is the hero Joe Frazier is the man not Sylvester Stallone still vest Sylvester Stallone is a made-up character a cartoon character I cannot say nothing good about him but I have all good to say about Joe Frazier what did Sylvester Stallone ever do all he did was make a Rocky film that's all that was funny Tony p h o n y
Actually Stallone didn’t make the story up. Rocky is about a Pro boxer named Chuck Wepner who got the chance to fight Ali and went the “distance” (it was stopped last round near the end I believe). Sly never gave any credit or money to Chuck. Chuck sued Sly and they settled out of court. Sly is a GIANT piece of shit.
There was an interview of Ali and Frazier telling that people making rocky invited them for an audition, ask them to do their training, running up the steps, and took the idea, ditch them and incorporated it to the movie, make money.
I agree Joe should have a bigger and greater honor then a actor.
Great post, John.
Ali and Joe are Great Champions, Will be always be regarded and respected, they spread love kindness, respect, sympathy, humor and humanity will be honoured here and hereafter and all who followed them.
Smokey Joe you was a fantastic brilliant fighter and a lovely man outside the ring and so good looking Rip
Joe fought in the 1964 Olympics and won Gold Medal for Heavyweight division. Smoke had been fighting pro since 65. Geez do your homework ArtisanNewsService. But thanks for posting the video, RIP SMOKE!
I met him once on city-line ave @ ihop ! He was very friendly !
Man you got to love Joe. Big fan always will be.
RIP Joe🙏🏾 great man in and out of the ring
God bless this man's soul!
Thrilla in Manilla was one of the most brutal boxing matches ever, they both should of called it quits after that. The gloves were pretty much waterlogged by the middle rounds.
The years of brutal headshots are showing here. His speech is so slurred that it should be subtitled.
So true, George Foreman contributed a lot to this
My two favorite fighters are Joe and Rocky Marciano. They never had a boring fight because they put constant pressure on their opponents. Watch any Joe Frazier fight and it's just constant action. This was because Joe made it so. Courage was what enabled Joe to do this. Only courage - raw unconquerable courage - will allow a person to walk time and time again into the teeth of pain. Even when Joe met disaster against George Foreman, he got up and was willing to continue. Amazing man. My hero forever.
"If God ever began the apocalypse, I would want Joe Frazier by my side." Muhammad Ali. That quote from Ali's autobiography speaks volumes on what he felt about Joe.
Ali was a 1960 Olympic Champion, Frazier was 1964 Olympic Heavyweight Champion, and Foreman 1968 Champion.
Class. RIP Joe.
The two men who make box history. Two real men !!!!!!!
JOE. and. ALI
Joe's being modest. He would have had a great chance against Louis. I'll put it this way: most current all-time rankings put Ali #1. Well, Frazier gave Ali pure hell. After the Frazier fights, Ali was never the same again. Now if many people think Ali is the best ever, and Frazier pounded him to hell and back, where does Frazier rank? Damn right, Frazier could have beaten Louis. I'd give him a 50-50 chance of beating Louis.
Your logic of: "Frazier gave Ali trouble, therefore he could've beaten Louis" doesn't stand upon closer inspection.
Ali destroyed Foreman, does that mean Frazier could beat Foreman too? You don't need to answer, we know how that turned out.
Now, as for Louis, the man is arguably the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time. Sure Ali may be better, or he may be worse, but one cannot underestimate Louis, and neither does Frazier in this interview, because he knows Louis was a killer in the ring.
Could Frazier have beaten him? Maybe, but I'd bet on Louis.
Great defense, great punching power and an amazing record to back it up.
It’s all about styles at that level.
He is the greatest of all times next to me ❤
No disrespect. I wish they had subtitles. Great respect. Really interested in what he's saying.
Please, Please, Please. Correct this. Joe was in the 1964 OLYMPICS IN TOKOYO, JAPAN!!!!
I remember smokin joe ,mr joe I trained in his gym a summer of 86 I believe then at the age he was he could put up a nasty 3 rounds with the best I'm a white boy among n philly everyone treated me with respect and mr joe was a great help marvis lil joe they were all fine people much respect! Still smokin!!
the first question parallels the Pro Wrestling business 100%. It's always important to be thankful and humble to your fellow workers. The old saying being that you never know who you might might on your way down.
One of my heroes growing up
A legend
Hope to meet you sum time, Joe.
Nothing but respect. Smokin Joe is the man. What a warrior.
I always liked Joe Frazier he seemed like he was a good man and a real honest person in the general sense nothing like Ali who I did not like.
Legend always legend
A CHAMPION....a LEGEND... a MAN...nuff said....
Love it.
God bless joe frazier,Frazier, great man
IF THAT FIGHT WASN'T STOPPED BY JOES CORNER , JOE WINS HANDS DOWN !!!!!!!
Brilliant
❤ R.I.P. CHAMP
I loved this man so much Ali was so devisive. I am so happy Joe was the first man to beat Ali.
I know Ali was a great showman but even that has to or should have had boundaries.
May God Bless Joe Forever - there should be a picture of Joe next to the word hardship in the dictionary
A true legend
To this day I can't watch the videos of George Foreman knocking out Smokin Joe. I love watching George in every other fight because he's another of my all time favorites. But I can't watch him do that to Joe. RIP to a great boxer and a beautiful man.
God bless you
I wish I could have met this man and shook his hand, and told him thank you.
I wouldn't say he still hated Muhammad or that he didn't feel sorry for him, after all he's even admitted himself that it was sad and he wished Ali could live a good long life like him and everyone else.
Same with most fighters I've heard, but I can't believe how clearly George Foreman speaks! Even now
Joe Hanchard
but, GOD.
RIP, Joe!!
Joe Frazier was a good man, and a champion, the night he beat up ALI and kept is title was very special. He shut Ali's big mouth that night, broke his jaw & showed the world who the real "greatest" was in 1971. Joe Frazier was/is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, and outside the ring a true Christian. I know he is with the LORD in heaven, where he belongs!!
