The Day Muhammad Ali Rediscovered His Irish Roots

- Dr. Pearse Lyons, president of Alltech, describes the special day he brought Muhammad Ali to Ennis, a small town in Ireland, and hometown of Muhammad Ali's great, great grandfather.
It doesn't matter what percentage of Irish blood Muhammad Ali had the Irish honored him. The Most High bless Ireland...
The Irish are more respectful than the Americans after he won gold in the Olympics for America he went to a restaurant in his home town and they refused to serve him
God Bless from Ireland ☘️
Jay Cartwright - Depends on the American.
muhammed alis pub wtf is dis guy saying lol
@Pep Ciccarelli that's not were the term black Irish comes from.
When u ask people about Mohammad Ali, everyone talks about his humanity, love to the people around the globe instead of talking about how great he was in the ring.
This is the real greatness.
I think that's just self spoken for but his humanity was the defining charecteristic about him
It's a combination of both. Inside the ring and outside the ring. I've never seen a non politician non king non leader who was praised like him. He was unofficially the president of the world let's be honest

I'm an old dude. I remember a day when Muhammad Ali was hated. Ali has taught us to reevaluate some of our presuppositions and angle in which we viewed reality. He seemed to be uniquely qualified to do this on so many levels.
Irish people are good, nice, kind, understanding, stand for justice and freedom.
Hero to a lot of people around the world.

I don't remember any Irish people supporting Muhammad Ali when he was going to prison. 🤔
@@clarencewilliamsperturbed7240 he didn't really get any support during the late 60s. He didn't really get any credentials till the end of his boxing career. There will never be anyone quite like him in our lifetime.

What a lovely post .Ali obviously loved being part of the the Irish story .The people of Ennis must have been surprised that he rocked up .

I remember in my youth living in Ireland, when Mohammed Ali was in his heyday. The Irish absolutely adored him, not only because he was a great sportsman, but because of his comic arrogance, his flamboyance, his presence, the thought that he fought his way up from nothing (in the most literal sense) and of course his handsome appearance (must have drove the ladies wild) so, in Ireland at least, it is not about jumping on the fame bandwagon, he was genuinely loved, no doubt about it, and not just for his Irish ancestry.
