This was a huge wake up call for the 4.0. I put the four whole injectors and XL coil upgraded wires in the throttlebody spacer my wife and say is wow worth every penny just buy it
Iac and tps in a jeep have been the most problematic to go bad in all my jeeps that I purchase in the past but a jeep to me is alot easier to work on than any other vehicle and parts for jeeps dating back to amc alot of are made in Mexico crazy though
You would think that iac housing would come already installed from BBK. Nice to hear that it works better. Cool looking jeep I just rebuilt mine from a wreck.
I had one on an XJ 4.0L. They don't add power but do increase the throttle response/sensitivity. I'm tempted to get one for my TJ, but it's a 5 speed and I'm not sure if the more sensitive throttle will make feathering the clutch/gas more annoying. I've installed a B&M short shifter on my AX-15, and I highly recommend it if they make one for the NV3550.
If you ever get superglue on your hands or drip it on something, brake clean works really well; not as harsh as carb cleaner and can be put on a rag to slowly dab. carb clean can strip surfaces and dries much faster so on-rag application isn't as good. but, yeah. Used to put a lot of motorcycle grips on with superglue, sometimes it would come out the end and i'd just use my fingers to smooth and clean the area, then spray some carb clean on a rag and wipe my hand clean. Super glue just comes right off. I use super glue for a lot of cuts too, with baking soda. Gets hot for a second or two, but way better than any bandaid. Sorry, i just got back from a Thanksgiving "walk".
I have the same TJ and Throttle Body and I can’t get the AIC housing to bolt back on to the new throttle body because the holes are too far from the “tab” you mentioned. How did you deal with that? I’d you look closely you’d have the same issue I have because I can see on yours that the holes are further away on the new body just like mine.
Any idea what size the intake opening is? Putting a 62mm throttle body over a 61mm opening would seem detrimental to the performance. I was just wondering. I don't know, I've never measured one. I'm thinking that edges would cause turbulence in the intake air flow. I've done a fair number of port and polishes on carbed engines, so, I was wondering if the smoothness of the runner would help in this situation.
I didn’t actually measure it (should have), but all of the research I’ve gathered is that the intake manifold opening is actually 62mm. I didn’t notice any lip when I installed the new throttle body, so it’s literally a straight shot right into the intake manifold.
@@65SEEJAYFIVE Like I typed. I was just wondering. Running carbed engines, I know a good port and polish does wonders for power. The theory being a smooth transition. Just wondering if a power gain would've been available if there was some sort of lip or edge present in the conversion. Still comes down to if you're happy, then all is good.
@@jeepanimal2943 oh it’s all good man! I really wish I had access to a dyno but I can honestly tell you this made a big difference. A lot of people will say it will do nothing (forums are full of ‘em) but I am super happy with it. Throttle response is snappy and it revs a lot quicker. I would say if you bolt it on and don’t clearance the intake manifold (like on a 2.5 per se), it might not make any difference. I genuinely don’t know.
The mini shop layout you have on your work table started tripping me out...Like, what if it's normal size and you're just a giant working on some huge throttle bodies?!
No way .My throttle plate got stuck open on the highway a week later . Turns out it was machined wrong..pray you get a good one . . If I didn't know what to do I would of crashed at full throttle. I ended up stomping on the gas pedal hard and it made it un stick. . User beware
First I’ve ever heard of this. Been running mine ever since this video with zero issues. With the basic design of a throttle body, not sure how it could ever be machined wrong and stuck “wide open” ??? Maybe stuck at some point in accelerating, but not wide open.

Great video, i love your little work area set up. I thought i was the only one that hated what Loctite did
Those motors run forever if you keep the maintenance up on them. Nice upgrade!!!
Absolutely, thanks for watching!

I HIGHLY recommend it, definitely a worthwhile mod in my opinion!
I have the b&m short shifter on my nv3550 with a weighted knob probably the best modification so far
do you have the mopar part numbers for the 3 throttle body sensors?
So do you think a throttled that big will work on the 2.5 liter
Where did you go to find all the mopar sensors?
great video, my stock throttle body on my jeep is 60 mm, would the 62 mm add more power

wear gloves , brake clean and carb clean sink right into your bloodstream. Don't get crap like this on your hands
Great job on the video. Great info 👍🏼🇺🇸

Oh never mind. Once you put the gasket on the tab fits.
I installed one of these on a 2002 TJ but now it whistles, anybody know how to fix this?
but right after this , you installed a stroker. If I'm staying with my 4.0 , is this an effective upgrade?
I believe so, it made the throttle response a little better in my opinion.
Nice video broo, do you have the link of your intake ?
It’s a Red Rock 4x4 intake

@@65SEEJAYFIVE Like I typed, Iffin you're happy then it worked. One day though, I think I'm gonna measure one. Just to see how big one can go......
Where did you get these seats? looks awesome!
Factory Cognac seats that came in the Apex edition.
Would this work on a 04 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 IL 6... rwd
Not sure, contact BBK to find out.
Does it make a whine at high RPM?
No, it doesn't

if the tool box opens and has tiny tools, i'd flip out....
there are actually. It's a little set I made to film RC stuff

Pro tip: use gloves when using brake cleaner
Pro tip: don't use old hardware in new parts
Should have been a 6 minute vid ?
Okey dokey. You say it’s too long, others say it’s too short and not enough detail. Whateva 👍🏻
