    This is a very interesting portable power solution. A smart, resourceful man who can identify the necessary components within variety of markets should find the most economical means. Maybe the golf cart industry has it. Thanks for sharing.

    Good trouble shooting video. I feel they didn't check out the unit before they sent it to you. You deserve the spare BMS and the connection port for your time and expertise. Thanks for making and sharing your video.

      They didn't ask for the BMS or testing equipment back which means I will be able to rebuild this battery several times if needed.

    Now that is customer support RoyPow. Simple fix in the end but great trouble shooting to find it. Hope to see what the LifePO4 goes in next.

    Real world problem fixed and good customer support. I think as it turned out the company was right to send you a new board as neither they or you could have known that there was a loose connector. Seems like a great set up if that is what you need and more power than lead acid so as you say will last longer. Thanks Steve very interesting.👍👍

    Outstanding product, good support and Steve-quality fault diagnosis! I have no need for such a device, but if I did, I'd buy this on your recommendation!

    Having muscled 8 6v golf cart batteries out and in to a Duffy electric boat (why is it always low tide when we have to do this?) this looks like a great alternative.

    Great video! Can you provide information about the software and communication module used for the battery? I would love to have this for my battery

      RoyPow sent it to me, I don't think you can get it from anywhere but them.

    Very cool. I'm going to look into that. I think it's probably a matter of coin but we'll see.

    Have you tried to hook solar panels to it?

    • @ThisWeekWithCars
      @ThisWeekWithCars  2 месяца назад

      Currently I use solar panels connected to an inverter and using the supplied charger. A solar charge controller cannot monitor the individual cells like the original charger can.

    It's a bit unfortunate that quality control let RoyPow down on this particular unit. It did, however, show that their tech support is very good.

    Im considering changing my camper leisure battery (lead acid) for one of these but you made me aware of problems with temperature etc, my van stays out in winter so im wondering if it would cause charging issues as you described?

    • @ThisWeekWithCars
      @ThisWeekWithCars  Год назад

      The good news is the charge controller will not allow you harm the battery. It would be best to put it inside the camper like I did so that it will kept at the same temperature as the inside of the camper. If you didn't see my install video it is here: ruclips.net/video/V5xCz3-6Blw/видео.html

    It is common to see a blob of hot-melt glue or similar bridging internal connectors to make sure they stay put - pity they missed out on that, could have saved both you and tech support a few days grief.

      I might open it back up and put a bit on each connector.

    Could you measure the efficiency of the inverters at various power points? I’ve heard it claimed that running your RV lights off a big inverter is bad because they are inefficient when you pull 100w from a 5kw inverter. It’s been said you’re better off running a separate inverter, like a 400w one for lights. Never seen actual data though.

    Have a different channel for. Advertising equipment
    And return to wrenching on your own vehicles

    • @MrDunky48
      @MrDunky48 Год назад +1

      I’m not sure he is advertising. If he were , would he take it to bits on delivery? But I know where you are coming from. I find the car shows and 4x4 events less entertaining than simply starting up and curing faults of all descriptions on cars that have been discarded by their previous owners

      I’m just filming what I’m doing each week. I will be installing this setup in my camper in upcoming video when I can get to it. Although this video was over many weeks and was not the video I thought I was making when I started it.
