- The bite is getting hotter by the day! The Hocking River has produced a ton of fish already these past few days. Do not wait!! Get out there and fish while the weather isn't scorching hot. These are the best days of the year in my opinion. A simple underspin rigged with a swimbait will bring you results fishing in any spillway or dam! This Berkley underpin did most of the work. That Hybrid striped bass sure does know how to RIP drag in that current! Fishing is like this in most spillways and dams around Ohio where fish congregate for spawning and feeding!

another great video! i need to do a kayak float in this area once the water temps come up
To be honest a kayak float any further downstream is pretty annoying..I have done it a couple times there are stretches where the water is like 2 inches lol just be prepared for a lot of getting out and pulling the yak.. I just find the deep holes and hit it from the bank instead

Hey Chuck!! The Muskingum River is a fantastic place to bank fish. I highly recommend the locks along the river! Multiple species and easy access
I plan on hitting it as soon as I can. Maybe we'll see what each other on the banks someday

trust me this place gets HAMMERED day in and day out. I have permission and a kayak..my access is limitless. This is just a good spot during the spring once summer hits the bite is VERY slow and the fish move to the deeper holes that are out of reach from the bank

I have caught a few walleye in the Hocking. They migrate upstream from the Ohio River
I tried but didn't catch any fish. There is nothing.
Fish will be in a different location in the summer months! Also try after a good rain
@@thecreekcrawler I went to the same spot as you and found no fish. I've tried all the rivers around the campus and haven't caught or seen any fish. I am very surprised that such a river has no big fish. I just moved here and I really like it here.
