I snagged my first muskie and was a "fish ohio" qualifier. I was more worried about him straightening my hook than cutting my line because I use spider wire braided line....(it's tuff as hell). Landing that fish is the best feeling ever! Keep up the great work!

Awesome catch. I fished that spillway all the time. I Have hooked a Musky twice there last year and they’ve broken me off due to inhaling a Joshy and cutting my line. That flow was about perfect to get the fish biting there. Keep the content coming.

Last spring I hooked in a 40+ inch musky with an ultralight. I fought it for about 5 minutes before it jumped and spit the hook. It was a great fight. I wish I could have got it on video.
I've fished that pool since I was a kid and have caught and witnessed some amazing catches. I caught a Northern Pike about the same size as that muskie back in the 90's and I saw another guy catch a paddlefish which blew some minds.

@@coltoncosgrove369 I see shad schooled up near the marina as well. sometimes you can find schools down in the bottom of the spillway too. Just be mindful of anglers. throwing a big cast net in there when someone is fishing that small hole can be frustrating

I just look for spots near the water with parking spots close by. I would recommend crappie fishing at Lake Logan here in the next few weeks. They should be moving up to spawn
@@bobbyrichardson4833 there is a bunch of fishing around you. Another good place to fish is rush creek just outside rushville then oakthopre is just down the road on pleasant volley road from there. The hocking river just past sugergrove is good. Lake Logan like you have already mentioned is good clause lake just outside summerset and lake st Joseph is also by summerset. All those are within 30 minutes of you and great fishing from crappie to bass, catfish, carp, perch and everything between.
I've never caught a muskie but that was a nice fish good stuff man, I hear they go crazy with fire tiger jerk baits although I haven't used mine just yet 😂

I'm in Ohio and we use those keitech baits as well. They do so well. We catch tons of crappie over at CJ Brown. We also hook into the muskie there.

I try to target the walls as much as possible! Predatory fish will pin baitfish alongside dams and other concrete structures!

for shad, I would recommend the dam side of the lake but be careful of the rocks. Also if it is legal try the spillway as well
