Or, back in reality, he did stand up at some venues that were indeed in that country **and wasn't part of a worldwide publicity campaign promoting the country** whereas Beckham took millions of squid to promote the place despite the corruption of a) the government and b) specifically the event being held there in the first place.

@@ziffification Actually I'm Welsh but have English, Scottish and Irish friends who think he's funny. Some people from other countries refer to anyone from Britain as English or Britain as England which is why I replied as I did.
@@catherinewilliams3850 I have more Welsh Irish Scotish and Cornish Friends, as I am super popular, and they all say that he is the main reason they all are seeking to seperate from the union.
A broad number of us, yes. There again many English people find Mrs. Brown's Boys funny and I can't stand it. Each to their own.
