    The Ortur Laser Master 3 was supplied to me for a review by Geekbuying but I was not paid to make this video.
    I would strongly recommend that you use lasers in a proper enclosure with fume extraction. Always read the safety notices and instructions before operating your laser and always make sure that you and everyone around you wears laser safety glasses.

      Many thanks for watching Phill. I think looking at the labels that they must be for motorised Z axis control, possibly they are considering an upgrade in the future.

    I like LM3,but had a bit of rough start with mine, AC adaptor blew when I first connected to main, wasn't connected to laser so no damage to it. I bought brand name 24V 4A and now it's working as a charm. Also lens get dirty very fast without air assist, cleaned that bugger after every job no matter how small the project was. After connecting compressor as an air assist, issue is gone.

      The lens gets dirty very quickly on all the lasers I have tested, it is a common problem. Cutting is no problem as the air assist keeps the lens clean but engraving without air assist certainly causes problems. It does help if you have the air assist running at low power whilst engraving. The only problem I was getting with the OLM3 is that it did not always want to connect to my Macbook, but this seems OK now.

      @@JimsonMakes Thanks for reply and info, I keep assist on lowest possible when engraving and crank up when starts to cut. Doesn't ruin engravings. Didn't bought pump yet, rather using my trusty compressor. Also did little modification in term of rubber O-ring added to nozzle on top of original one. Read somewhere that nozzle when fully screwed in partly blocks air assist hole on the side of thread. Didn't test it tho, but by the difference in sound of air blastin out of nozzle, it might be true.

    If that one company that sent you a pair of shoes for you to destroy like you did in that one video I would love to see them send you another pair of shoes and see what the laser can do to the shoes. But I really love watching these laser videos

    Jim, please be very careful with operating Lasers without proper inclosure. The Laser Light is dangerous to the eye even when reflected from plan surfaces. And cutting Laser should always be operated with a good fume extraction. The fumes can cause irritations and diseases like miner's lungs.
    Your fellow colleague Angus from Maker's Muse has posted a video lately that opened my eyes!

    • @JimsonMakes
      @JimsonMakes  2 года назад +1

      Yes quite agree, I always wear the glasses and although you can’t see it in the video there is a patio door open just behind the machine and windows open at the other end of the room so that all the smoke is carried out. When it is being used in earnest it will be installed in my enclosure with fume extraction in the workshop .
