Ripper looks like a frat bro with the Monster hat. Then you hear him. That voice is so adaptive and in control. He truly is one of the greatest metal singers ever.
I was so pleased that I met Tim Owens a few years ago in San Antonio. I thanked him for keeping the music of Priest alive and wished him the best in his future career in Metal!! 🤘🤯🤘
Damn that was intense! Tim is such a bad ass. This should only make you appreciate DIO’s voice and the POWER that was because Ripper has an amazing voice as well
WOW!! Never though anyone could ever come close to giving me the chills like Ronnie could, but, DAMN..Amazing vocal and Holy Diver Shit, how about thise RIFFS!! Thanks For Sharing!!
This is the first time I’ve ever seen this man and I can’t believe what I heard. They played a Ronny, James Dio song. And they were phenomenal. That singer was on point and he was really really good guitar players who are just fantastic bass player get the rhythm really good and that drummer was sick. This man’s gonna be big if they don’t I’ll be surprised.
Got to meet Tim at his bar in Akron a couple years ago, he had decided to do his tour rehearsal at his bar for free, my best friend is a ripper super fan and Tim came over and talked to us for a couple of hours , helluva nice guy and cool as hell
@@TheJudas71 Come on, man, just watched him fighting with Diamonds and Rust. Don't get me wrong, he is a great singer, but I guess he maybe doesn't feel some of the songs. He has great technique, and great voice (won't say unique for obvious reasons), but listen carefully to the beginning of Diamonds and Rust and his singing feels so forced, he emphasizes too much, tries too hard to make it perfect. It is not a technical song, it is about emotion, this is what makes it so powerful, because it resonates with everybody who has been heartbroken and bitter and disappointed. And You should just let it flow, like Your thoughts when You heard that voice again. Like Joan Baez and Rob Halford sang it. The way they sing it, melancholically, it just breaks Your heart, You feel the catarsis You relate and relive. This is why the song is so great. And Owens sings it like this epic greek tragedy, like the Michael Bay version. Funny enough on all other songs he is very solid, and here he is as awesome as he gets. I won't go so far to say he did it better than Dio, but he is just really great! .
@@eltoro747 This is the most ignorant comment I've read in a while. Do you honestly expect ONE man to possess the same vocal range as several other vocalists? Take a hike you dickhead.
@@eltoro747 Not close, compare this version with the version that Dio did in Hammermith in 1984, and you will have a reality check, Ronnie, as Ken Tamplin himself has said many times, is the most difficult singer to emulate and practically no one has come close to emulate his vocals in his songs compared to his live performances, the only ones who really did justice and came close were Ray Gillen and Jorn Land but even so they were unable to emulate his phrasing, his spectrum of vocal colors and his consistency in terms of Imposition vocal and legato.
Too funny 😅 Did you notice the vast majority of the video is Ripper and the Juu drummer? Why so much coverage on the drummer.......who looks like he's been assigned an unenviable task? Fyi.....the zigzag moniker of Monster Energy is 666 Truth 666 is not the number of the beast, it signifies wisdom. As usual we've been lied to. Btw, I'm not related to Tim, and as a metal vocalist myself, I wish I had half his talent!
Look more into him. Bands like Judas priest, iced Earth charred walls of the damned, Winters bane all had him as lead vocalist. He's prob my all time favorite also. Matt Barlow being a close second.
He's the best person to come out of Akron, Ohio! Yes folks...even better than LeBron! At least when Ripper was in town, and he still had his restaurant. He would come to the restaurant and spend hours with the fans!
Pretty good cover, my respects to The Ripper. HOWEVER, there is no one and I mean NO ONE who can sing this song better then The God of Rock. R.I.P. DIO
Is there anything this man can’t sing?
Tim is an amazing vocalist
MAN TIM's voice has gotten better over the years. Great tribute to Dio dudes.
The skill to cover DIO and Rob Halford, let alone his solo stuff, and KK's Priest?? AMAZING !!!
Ripper looks like a frat bro with the Monster hat. Then you hear him. That voice is so adaptive and in control. He truly is one of the greatest metal singers ever.
If you close your eyes and listen closely you can almost hear the spirit of Ronnie James Dio coming through Tim's voice on some of those notes.
Tim does such a good job paying a true homage to Dio... Glad to see the legacy carried on.
The RIPPER IS TRULY ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCALIST OF OUR TIME!! HE HAS TRULY EARNED THE RESPECT !🤘

One of the best tributes to DIO I've ever seen and heard! Such a great voice Tim. Perfec feeling.
Totally agree!

Owns just nailed it! Love his rasp and range! Every tone just fits perfectly! Respect!
Awesome performance by the Ripper... it was as if Dio was on stage, great job... he seems to get better by age...
Still listen to this version of a Dio classic! It always takes me to “shred town”🎸👍
Tim"RIPPER"Owens is a living LEGEND 🤘

Mr Owens needs to be in a great band!
He was in Priest and Iced Earth
@@___and_memes_for_all “was”....this man is too talented to not have a regular gig.
This guy is amazing !!
i'm blown away! damn good cover; great singing, great guitar solo and yeah, the drummer looks like he's as excited as doing his taxes!

George Volceanov have you ever listened to the bands elf or Ronnie Dio and the prophets? Dios early stuff.
killer lead guys
Drummer is actually good, problem is he looks like a young boy being forced to do his chores lol.
He is...there's a reason he gets more limelight than even Ripper.
He's a great drummer who has been assigned a role. It's the way the industry works.
good job on this one
ripper your awesome!! did this song just like dio and your from ohio!!
Muito fodaaaaaaaaaaa
He sounds more like Dio than he ever did as a Rob Halford imitator. Maybe he should hone in on that instead of the other..
The dude can sing pretty much everything it's not just one or another
Ронни Джеймса, конечно, не перепел, но-очень близко, Дио-гений рокового вокала!
who's that guitarist with white Ibanez?
He is Daniel Telis from Argentina. Pioneer of the argentinian Heavy Metal, also an excellent Blues and jazz man. Greetings From Argentina.
