I will go search every details of your recommendations! Its just that this PC building world changes so fast, its a bit hard to keep up with it. I used Ryzen 3 3100 because during that Time, people recommended me using it since Its cheap and can run most games fine with the correct Gpu combination. Until today, its still run good. But as I did some research this recently, dang its very old Cpu this 3100 and Upgrade is necessary
I have one ordered as an upgrade to my MSI B-760 DDR4 with 12100F.... Decided that the UHD 770 was also a bonus in case I decide to run it without a PCIE GPU as a workstation only...should serve my needs for years to come easily....
This CPU comparison was 5 months ago, the price for the 5600 has got to be so close to 5600x in my country. The only one that worth to buy in this moment is 5700x under 200 $.
Bought the 5600 as soon as my B350 MoBo got BIOS support for it in June-22 at $154 with today's currecy rate. (including 1 month gamepass) I was considering the 12100F at $77 + a b660 at $80 and also the 5500 at $115, but the extra cache on the 5600 is nice to have, still no PCIE 4.0 due to the MoBo, but B550's are just too expensive.
So I have a question, I’m looking to build my first PC and I’m looking at either the Ryzen 5 5600 or the Ryzen 7 5700X. The only problem I see with the 5600 is the upgradability like mentioned in the video, with the 5700X could I upgrade to DDR5 in the future?
My son has just sprung on me that he'd like a gaming pc for Christmas. I'm looking at two pre-builds. Ryzen 5 5500 + RX6700 XT or Ryzen 7 5700X + RTX 4060 Ti. Which option is best?
My friend is helping me make my first pc and he knows how to make PCs he got these discounts and atm we bought a amd 4500 I trust him and I heard it’s still good
I have a GT 1030 GPU,i want to upgrade my pc and i have 2 options in my mind: 1. To buy i3 12100f and use GT 1030 till i buy another GPU. 2. To buy Ryzen 5 5600g and use his iGPU and later buy another GPU. Which options is better for the future,i mostly play esports titles(CS GO,Valorant...)
IMO number 1. Vega 7 in 5600g is not that different in term of power compared to your GT1030 and the 12100f is overall better gaming CPU compared to 5600g while being cheaper
If I’m making the 1000$ pc that you had in the last video before the 800$ should I buy the ryzen 5 7600x instead of the intel 12400F for better gaming performance?
Still using my A8 processor setup, and just bought a brandnew board for it. And also bought a miners rx 580 just to feel the difference after using its apu for decades. Just thinking what will be a better upgrade.
Best absolute would be 7800x3d but it costs more than the gpu, so that would make little sense, a 5600 is enough to get solid performance without bottlenecking your rx580
If you want to play any game your CPU needs to have at least 8 nucleos word from someone that ik that is very smart and knows about tecnology for some years

Ryzen 4500 is essentially a 4600G but with its iGPU disabled hence the lower performance than standard Zen 2 CPUs
Thank you so much for making this happen! Much appreciated!
Perfectly timed review as I wanti to upgrade my Ryzen 3600 bought secondhand 2yrs ago. Pairing with my RX6700XT / B450 ready for when I upgrade to 4k tv. 2years ago reviews implyed Ryzen 5600 not worth upgrading but now prices low makes sense until AM5 becomes more accessible. Thank you for sharing 👍
5800X3D is your best bet
@@ScatterVolt Its just a case of finding one that hasnt been overlooked and cooked. In UK they're hard to come by but they're absolutely worth their money. If you see one buy it seems to be the thing to do.
Upgrading from 2700x to 5700x using 3070ti mainly because I wasn't keen to spend around $1500 (AUD) on a new Mini ITX build and instead just wanted to get 2-3 more years of life out of my current hardware before I relegate it as a secondary PC. Pricing at the moment in Australia is $275 for the 55700x and $188 for the 5600... so it's hard to justify the extra $100 for 2 cores, but knowing the AM4 is finished in it's lifecycle, and knowing I don't need to touch any of the other components until my next refresh to DDR5 , I'll probably benefit from the extra cores from some editing / creative workloads when they happen.
That's weird, here in the uk the 5700x is only £20 more than a 5600x so it's a really good deal!
4 months on, the pc is crushing it for both gaming (F1 23, Starfield, WRC, Assasains Creed) and music prodction workflows. Was surprised how much of a positive impact on FPS a new CPU has saving me the new build. Definitely worth it @@justmatt2655
Happy with my 12100!! Let's goo!!!
The 5500 is very underrated, yes the i3 beats it but the price diff including mobo and ram is not worth it. It has a lot of oc headroom and supports SAM.
most of the am4 motherboards that cost less than 80 need bios updates, so the cheapest one you can use out the box is like 80ish dollars
12100f motherboards are around that price, and the 12100f is like 20 bucks cheaper
I'm building a new pc and I'm conflicted whether I should make a heavy investment on i5-13500 or go with a cheaper ryzen 5 5600. I'll mostly be playing games on it and doing some 3d modelling with Blender
Intel motherboard is more expensive than that of amd
@@karthikpai2537Not at all tbh here
Bought two 5600s and a 5600X for my 3 boys. Havent built the PC yet but ive neen hoping they got good cpus. This makes me feel better
Nice. Those are good ones.
The 4600g is a good CPU and fine for gaming with a dedicated graphics card.

Have a ryzen 3600 in my system from 2-3 years ago with 2 months old Rx6800 its probably bottlenecked but still i dont fell the CPU being slow or anything and everything runs perfectly in 1440P 120fps high settings .
Probably will keep it until the AM5 components drop in price a bit more like the MOBOs and than upgrade it to a new platform .
The memory controller is better in the 5000 serie and you can see it.
5600g and i3 10100 are really solid budget cpu's
5700g and 5600g use a monolithic design and therefore don’t have some of the latency drawbacks of amd due to like the infinity fabric. Many people would rather have a 5700g than a 5800x in fact.
not if they look at benchmarks
Wdym? 5800X is monolithic!
bro 5700g is crippled in a lot of ways that 5800x isnt and both cpus arent even great rn
LMAO ,,, 5700g and 5600g great A FEW YEARS back when GPU shortage ,,, now is 2023 AVOID them
A bit late but an oced 5700g with b die ram will be better than a 5800x it has more headroom and is cheaper. Also, it will have lower memory latency when ocing
Owner of a 5600G here. Got it because I ran without a GPU for a year, because it was in the middle of the GPU crisis when I built my PC. Bought a 6600 in 2022, wish I had a 5600 non-G right about now
Rocking dat PCI gen 3 right now :)
More tier list these are awesome
Hi, why do you keep mentioning pcie 3.0 and 4.0 as a way to measure a cpu's gaming capability since it doesn't really impact gaming all that much, even in terms of bottlenecking GPUs as it's only a few percent. Thanks for answering.
It does for budget gpus, which those budget cpus would be most likely paired up with
Rocking w/ the micro center 500$ deal for Ryzen 7 7800, b650 tomahawk, and ddr5 32 gigs of ram.
Do a video ranking the top end CPUs !
I really love the Oscar-alike ranking ceremony a lot.🤣
Ryzen 3 3300x goat
I was short in money and upgraded everything in my pc
4060, b550, 32ram, except cpu
Cpu was next.
But still never lag and reached 100% in multiple games opened at the same time in my pc.
3300x was the goat. That made AMD learn never to release a strong four core cpu ever again haha
I've got a Radeon 6800 paired with a Ryzen 5600 and it's a pretty solid system, especially for how power efficient it is.
how about 5800?
I bought R5 5600X for 3 bucks more than non X-model at a discount,... I'm such happy! :D
i see nobody talking about the i5-13500
Thanks a lot scattervolt! This helped a lot!
I plan to update this video soon
hi i have a 6th gen i5 and a 1050ti but i want to upgrade what do i upgrade first
edit: i dont mind going to amd if needed
Proud owner of the 4600g
It's really solid i paired it with a graphics card and its really really great
haha ruclips.net/video/wgYVmbD8TGQ/видео.html
Those ryzen 5s will last a lot longer and are more well-rounded CPUs. I wouldn't even go near those i3 processors. If you have a micro center near you, just grab the R5 5600 for 130. No brainer.
Lmao I just bought a R5 4500 yesterday, I found it at half the price of an i3 10100f.
I used to be stuck with the A8 7600, so I'm more than happy haha
I'm from ARG btw

im currently rocking a 2600X with a 1660S and im fine with that i mainly play Destiny 2 and it runs at 100+Fps in high settings with 1080p. cant complain
At least this guy gets it. I noticed that a lot of pc builder on yt are kinda snob. It's like they don't know who watches their videos. Most of us just want a pc that is fast enough to browse chrome while playing league of legends and listening to music. 😂
Yeah❤
Im gonna build a pc soonish, but wondering does 5600, 5600g and 5600x really makes a lot of difference?
if ur getting a gpu just stick to the 5600 its basically just as good as the x while being cheaper
Dude you left out the top APU 5700g for197 so just on the mark. Best apu although same issue with only pci 3.0. Great video as always
And here I am, still using Ryzen 3 3100 since 2017 If I'm not mistaken haha , I'll get 5600X soon
Shoot for one of the X3D chips imo. There are rumors of a 5500X3D and 5700X3D too.
Please do a used cpu tier list
What do you think of the ryzen 5 3600
Outdated. 5600 is meant to be the replacement.
@@ScatterVolt outdate because of?
@@ScatterVolt yea but it's 2x the price lol
i prefer i5 13500 rather than i3600k because of the tdp 65w instead 125wm with almost identical perform and 50$ cheaper
I have one ordered as an upgrade to my MSI B-760 DDR4 with 12100F.... Decided that the UHD 770 was also a bonus in case I decide to run it without a PCIE GPU as a workstation only...should serve my needs for years to come easily....
We've come a long way since my first 8086.. Lol😂😂😂
I updated this tier list recently!
Proud owner of an i3 10100f here, i stumbled it for 65 bucks c:
That’s dirt cheap!
(including 1 month gamepass)
I was considering the 12100F at $77 + a b660 at $80 and also the 5500 at $115, but the extra cache on the 5600 is nice to have, still no PCIE 4.0 due to the MoBo, but B550's are just too expensive.
Not even for GPUs??
@@Jfingynvhinbj I'd rather spend $100 extra on a better GPU than buy a B550 MoBo. PCIE4 is not really utilized on x16 lane GPU's.

So I have a question, I’m looking to build my first PC and I’m looking at either the Ryzen 5 5600 or the Ryzen 7 5700X. The only problem I see with the 5600 is the upgradability like mentioned in the video, with the 5700X could I upgrade to DDR5 in the future?
no, the 5700x is still on the AM4 platform. No ddr5, only ddr4.
My son has just sprung on me that he'd like a gaming pc for Christmas. I'm looking at two pre-builds. Ryzen 5 5500 + RX6700 XT or Ryzen 7 5700X + RTX 4060 Ti. Which option is best?
Neither are outstanding imo. I'd spend more with one that has a 4070 or a 6800/6800XT/7800XT.
But if you could only choose one of the two?
Where would you put the Ryzen 5 3600?
i3 12100f is a beast budget cpu
Just bought it for cheap
im pairing it with an RX 5700 XT
Upgraded my 3600x to a 5700x amazing idea

That i3 12100 box has seen some actions 😂
I use the 5600G in my gaming pc, what should or can I upgrade too? I'm using a 3600 GPU
the 4500 has similar performance to an i3 10100 but on a better platform. i wouldn’t say it’s the greatest but it’s not terrible.
You may as well get a better used cpu for that sort of money though, it never seems to justify itself
@@danb4900 yeah, but some people dislike buying used so this would be next best if that don’t want to buy a used 3600 for example
This is my dilemma, used 3600 is more on average than a 4500.
Hello. What about Ryzen 7 5700g???
I'm impressed r5 3600 isn't here.
Cheap af, nice cache, low TDP, which means low temps, and pcie4.. I honestly dunno how it isn't here.
So either buy it all now, or buy it all later? What kind of advice is that?
I have a GT 1030 GPU,i want to upgrade my pc and i have 2 options in my mind:
1. To buy i3 12100f and use GT 1030 till i buy another GPU.
2. To buy Ryzen 5 5600g and use his iGPU and later buy another GPU.
Which options is better for the future,i mostly play esports titles(CS GO,Valorant...)
IMO number 1. Vega 7 in 5600g is not that different in term of power compared to your GT1030 and the 12100f is overall better gaming CPU compared to 5600g while being cheaper
been using the ryzen 5 5600g for almost a year without a gpu and i can run the games i like smoothly
