I'm not a pro but I installed a ceiling fan on my ceiling. I actually had to make a new hole because the previous one was at an angle and not pointing straight down. I cut a hole in the ceiling and installed a ceiling fan mount, the one that you twist until it gets tight against 2 pieces of the wooden frame because the ceiling fan was placed right in the middle of a cathedral ceiling. I had to use customized long screws with spacers because I had a hard time making everything fit together with the original screws. I also had to customize the hole cover in the ceiling because the ceiling fan base was wide and the angle was wide too like a triangle. Everything seems to be holding together just fine. It's not wobbling at all and no strange noises either. I think I may have over killed it on the mount because it feels very stiff and it is hard to make it wobble LOL. All I got to do now is just put caulk in the little gaps and paint the piece of fiber wood sheet white. It is located at the very top of the fan, covering the hole evenly. because of the triangular shape angle.
The oils on your skin will damage a halogen bulb. I believe that 100 percent. No doubt about that. When I worked at the roller skating rink, I was the facility lighting coordinator and my assistant and I were changing the light bulb in the spotlight for the disco ball. It sounded like gunfire and put the rink into a lockdown and the swat team was dispatched. Skaters went pouring out the fire exits and the whole bit. Instantly put the hokey pokey in the toilet. The hokey pokey was ruined. The on standby rink resource officer yelled into his police radio, "Shots fired!" On and on. Now, this was shortly after the Virginia Tech so, you can only imagine that everyone was on edge. Well, all of this madness was caused by a halogen bulb that had exploded. And, the bulb was touched. So, the mural is, don't touch the bulb. Halogen bulbs are made of quartz, and oils from shin will deform the quartz. When the bulb is in operation, it gets hot. The heat boils the oils. The boiling oil causes the quartz to explode. So, you have to handle the halogen bulb with toilet paper. And, if you accidentally touch the bulb with your pare skin, clean it with rubbing alcohol. If you don't have rubbing alcohol, liquor alcohol can also be used to clean halogen bulbs.
