The Empty chair behind her is left there in honor of her late composer who had died, she left it empty for the remainder of her career doing live shows
I wasn't know that 😅

Timeless vocal legend
Simply Om Kolthoum ❤
The musicians behind her dont carry notes simply because every each and everyone of them is a MASTER at his post in the country of Egypt. I repeat, MASTERS at their posts in the country. She is Om Kalthoom, the one and only.
true
You have no idea what Om kulthoum music do to us. You see grown up respectful successful men tearing from the glory of her music. There's magic in it that is hard to understand if you're not arab. There's so much class in the music and the lyrics and the voice and their effect on us. Sadly that glory and that Egytian class is all but gone. And here we are 50 years after her passing unable to find anything remotely close to that level of ingenious. I grew up in Egypt till I was 25, followed by 35 years in the US. I'm all American now then I hear her music and I drop a tear and long for the land of my mother.
Do you see how far the mic was from her? She had a very strong voice ❤
actually she had an incident with that , one of the mics exploded before , so they took further , apparently the mic couldn't handle.
She use to sing one new song every 1st Thursday of each month.
Each song is more than one hour long.
The song use to broadcast live on shortwave radio which made all the Arab world open the radio waiting to hear the new song evey month.
So, several millions use to hear it live from Morocco to the west to Iraq to the east.
She past away 1972 and she got several millions in her funeral which was the second largest funeral after president Nasser 1970.
Great comment. Just to correct, she died 1975. Thanks
Can you measure the distance between her mouth and the mic, more than one meter, you have to ask why, because she had damaged with its strong sound the microphone inside the studio, the engineer advice her whenever she wants to rase her tone , she had to get back a little bit, , you can notice when she move back & forward according to to high tone
+1
Just so you know, the song is less than half an hour long, but because the audience loves her voice and her songs so much, they ask for a clip of the song over and over again, so the song takes hours, but that's okay, they were really discerning listeners. It deserves to be repeated a lot. She is the great Umm Kulthum. ❤
Oh, I forgot something about the band, they are some of the best musicians ever, we will never be able to bring someone like them again, they are the Umm Kulthum band ❤
She was such a force and presence - No one before or since had the caliber of composers and poets to write for them, or the caliber of musicians that played behind them. Every show and every recording was like an all star performance. A true legend.
Umm Kulthum is a Queen, my grandma would tell me all those stories where her mom used to attend her concerts back in the 50s & 60s! ❤Proud to be an Egyptian!
Umm Kulthum sang that concert in Paris when she was 69 years old. She was sick with her liver. She was singing while she was sick. The party lasted 5 hours
There's still 2 Couplet for this song and u will be surprised when you hear it
Thanks for your reactions
Love you man
3 octave
I am 40 years old, still listening to her❤❤
He is so in love with om Kalthoum
This concert was in paris 1967 and she was 70 years old when performing 😁
With Umm Kulthum, you can embrace the music and dance above the clouds♥
They also said if your heard her on stage, is not like hearing her from the audience places in the theater, nor (of course) from recordings .. her voice is different and more magnificent when the person is the nearest.. i believe that .. she was a legend ❤
One day when I was young, I and dad were listening to Umkalthom and his eyes filled with tears. It was an awkward moment! 😂 he told me Umkalthum is so precious to his heart her voice and songs remind him of his childhood, his parents, his younger self and his home and the neighborhood. He listens to one of her songs every night. ❤️ Our precious Egyptian Gam "Umkalthum"
you know she had this Diamond Broch shaped as a crescent , she only wore when she was going to sing a song for the first time.
Just see how far away the mic is from her mouth. Rumours have it she used to destroy mics with her voice alone
she is the queen .
Umm Kulthum's musical group preceded the wonderful Yanni. Everyone had the right to add a touch of creativity, and take what the flute player, Mr. Sayed Salem, did

Advice from an Egyptian, drink coffee while listening to Umm Kulthum
she is A legend
I like gret omen
I just came across your channel and I love how appreciative you are!
I never expected a foreign to listen to Umm Kulthom tbh 😂 like you went really deep! Amazing
She’s a legend in the music arab world, you wouldn’t find a single arab who dislikes her.
Fun fact: her nickname was The Lady, “The Lady Umm Kulthom”
Search for mohamed abdel wahab - you will be amazed
❤
You must have noticed that her audiences are all grown ups, dressed well like going to the Opera. Hardly you can see these days entertainment fit for mature in age people with an audience that are enjoying performance by listening and not interrupting or drinking or smoking out of respect to such amazing effort by musicians and singer.
You can also notice that the microphone is far away from her. In most of her songs, you will find the microphone at a distance of a meter or more..she was a strong woman 😅
music is best world language thanks from tunisia
😍😍😍😍
look how far is the microphone from her.
yo got hooked on Um Kalthoum
❤❤❤❤
The composer is Baligh Hamdi. What he did with the music was very simple. Arabic music was rough and somewhat rigid, and it was mostly Arabic poems, so it was difficult to compose. But Baligh Hamdi moved the music and made it alive and had a soul, as he made it familiar to the ear and deliberately repeated the melody in order to memorize it quickly. Simply put, when you do anything, you make music from what you memorize. This is what Baligh did by spreading music and making it dance.
Listen to the song "Fat Al-Ma'ad" by Umm Kulthum Our professor
❤❤ Hi great reaction video love fun fact the microphone is not in front of her it's actually hanging from the ceiling because of her strong voice that would have ruined the microphone if it's closer..❤❤
Fun fact again she used to break glass with her voice she had a world record for how strong her voice was ..❤❤
I'm suggesting you listen to Asmahan - Layali El onsi fe Vienna (lovely nights in Vienna)...I'm sure you will like her voice 😊
the name of the musical troup is " the diamond team", they receive the music sheets to repeat apart, and then after they repeat all togeather withe the performer at least 45 times (that was her statdard before playing on stage)
every musician of them was a virtuose and a music professor even the ones playing in the second raw :)
that was the golden days of music all around the world.
by the way she was born in 1898, so she had more than 60 years in the 60"s and it doesn't affect her voice a bit :)
Hi you can also hear the same song from the singer Awadh Aldookhi.
Will you please react to this song
how come u didnt notice that there is no mic infront of her , usually they put the mic above her dangling from up , her voice was so strong that they could not put the mics very close to her as the tech was low at that time for sure , try to locate her mic if u can :D

Hi I love your videos and I want to mention if you notice her microphone how far is from her?
ya jarrat el wadi nour el houda يا جارة الوادي نورالهدى
there's another show for this very song when the fluke guy made a special scene it was amazing I think you may like everyone in her group is a special talent a star by himself making a universal show were umkulthum is a planet and everyone in her team is a start the eastern planet um kulthum
Also there is no one cylable same as the other, even if she had repeated lines
You can listen to Sabah Fakhri, one of the most important Syrian musicians
Next Leilet Hob - Umm Kulthum
She sang one meter away from the microphone 😅
I believe I have seen Mahmoud Darwish, the poet, among the audiance
and the microphone is about a meter far from where she is standing
I have a request. I hope you'll see my comment. Warda- batwanis beek. She's a Tunisian singing egyptian language great voice. Hope for a reaction ❤🎉
Algerian not Tunisian
But i love her Anyway
and I'll this to all the most certainly obvious great, and correct comments, but going to an Umm Kulthum show meant a couple of things: 1. you're only going to hear 1 or maybe 2 songs since they're super long. 2. you put on your sunday best, and you sat down like it's the Opera not a music concert.
i suggest hedi jouini or lotfi bouchnek (Tunisian musicians)
7:17 reeaall😂😂😂😂
I busted out laughing 😂😂😂😂
far from the mic cause of her strong nature voice dameged much mic
