The amazing about this song particularly is that the tune is fully improvised, the composer only put the main theme, scale, rhythm, tempo and the Sheikh fully improvised the rest. Amazing voice i’ve heard the closest description for it as a “crystal chandelier”
I hope you can see my comment.. The meaning of "العبد" is "the worshiper" not "the slave" the word in Arabic can be used for both two meanings.. But in the religious context it's always mean the worshiper ♥️
I just started hearing this man’s voice about two months ago, and I was STUNNED!!!! Till this day, Sayed Al Nakahabandi’s voice will always give me shivers!! So that, along with spiritual singing, is just perfection! ❤
oh man just imagine living in cairo waking up every morning hearing Nakshabandi, Mohamed Rifat und mulana el sharawi at Queran Kareem Radio ...these voices shaped our souls ...they reach our hearts and lived inside us...years and decades after their death we still listen and cry like babies...they live in our hearts forever
Actually, there is a story about this religious chant. It is that the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat asked the genius composer Baligh Hamdi to compose such a melody for the sheikh. Sheikh Naqshbandi was surprised and refused to sing, but he agreed after hearing the beauty of this melody.
Fun fact about this song .. the co-op between the composer and the singer was a result of an order by the president and Nobel prize winner Anwar elsadat
A very very very special video. Sayed El Nakshabandi is definitely a reciter and religious singer who makes us get goose bumps. He is not just a great reciter and religious singer. He is also very deeply entrenched in our culture, especially that his voice reminds us of the best Ramadan days ever in the late 1960s (1969) until the 1980s despite the fact that he had died before in 1976. But his works and recitations were and are still heard, but now with a lot of nostalgia and longing for these great days of the past and Ramadan and the unrepeatable beautiful family gatherings during the great month of Ramadan. Thank you. A very special one.
Thank you very much for your interest in the sheikhs of Egypt, and this was composed by the genius musician Baligh Hamdi, who composed the song “Alf Leila Wa Leila” Umm Kulthum and composed the best songs of Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim
That’s interesting how you’re listening to a really different kinds of music from classics to religious ones, I grew up listening to this. It’s just so meaningful and brings me goosebumps whenever I listen to it... that’s a great choice Jay! 😊
I told you Egyptians used to do that since thousands of years , and Egyptians do have strong voices and overwhelming emotions that we deliver through that the lyrics and the voices and even the music and they really know what they are doing .. we do that with sincere love because we know that it delivers a lot of emotions , it’s a way of communication in Egypt ( inherited in us )
I am from Egypt, I support this type.. and I follow you.. I like your honest reactions. In Egypt there are very many and very powerful singers, reciters, vocalists and scholars. What Egypt offers is really interesting, varied and very powerful.🧡🌹
In Egypt we have a whole list of beautiful and unique voices, you’ve already reacted to many of the most talented and iconic ones like Um Kulthum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim, Sheikh Al Nakshabandy, Abdul Basset Abdel Samad … and you still have another voice from heaven which happens to be the voice of the famous and by far the best reciter Sheikh Mohammed Refaat. We also have other beautiful voices of singers like Laila Murad, Abdel Ghani El Sayed, Karem Mahmoud, Soaad Mohammed, and lots more.
I love your choices, You make me rediscover our Egyptian gems all over again, and I thank you for it. And to answer your question on how come we have a lot of voices, Egypt is populous, which means numbers control the whole thing, we have so many people that come with so many tastes, Also it is a challenging environment to prove yourself and slight a singer or a composer from the rest.
Great video with another great voice. Thank you IJay. I know that in Egypt, the reciters used to learn the phonatics in a way similer to music studies. i know also that they mastering some techniques like sircular breathing. this is one of the reasons the Egyptian classic singers have a strong continious voices and clear pronuncations. they were usually started to learn that and figer-out the good talents in early ages when they start learn reading and reciting Quran at the mosque or "Kotab" Greetings
I am very happy that you are smiling at something made from my country and my religion, and I love that you taste this sweetness forever. I think you understood me, I love you
As an Egyptian, I really thank you, we appreciate your interest, effort & sincerity. Is it possible that you learn Arabic? You already know the letters, it's a good step. B. Regards 🌷✌️🤝

I can see that you are coincidentally making a lot of videos about songs and art works whose music was composed by the Arab world’s legendary music composer, Baligh Hamdi. Other songs you made videos about of Hamdi were the following: - Siret El Hob (سيرة الحب): Umm Kalthoum - Alf Lela u Lela (الف ليلة وليلة): Umm Kalthoum - Gana El Haua (جانا الهوى): Abdel Halim Hafez - Baed Annak (بعيد عنك): Umm Kalthoum And finally this one of Al Nakshabandi.
All those are Egyptians, Egyptians are Copts both Muslims and Christians.. and we are proud about our identity and also we love our Arabs brothers , but we have to claim our real identity, the identity of our country and its ppl
By the way All songs and music you mentioned are Egyptians not Arabic . Egyptians speak Arabic language , Moslems or Christens ,but are not Arabs . Arabs countries are at the Arabic peninsula !
The amazing about this song particularly is that the tune is fully improvised, the composer only put the main theme, scale, rhythm, tempo and the Sheikh fully improvised the rest. Amazing voice i’ve heard the closest description for it as a “crystal chandelier”
I'm Christian Egyptian and totally love this spiritual song can't get enough of it
