For General Knowledge : This piece of Art ( Al-Atlal ) was Chosen as one of most 100 Art Works ( Cenima, Letriture, Songs) that structured the Memories of The 20 th Century worldwide.
This choice was beside some other Legendary works like The 9 th symphony of Bethoven and the 4th Semphony of chaikovsky.
This was through a Referendum made by The Famous French Newspaper ( Lomond ) and the Famous Cultural Products Store ( La Fanc ) at 1999, and they used a wide commitee of experts to judge the Final Choices.
Oum Kolthoum is our Nathional Sympol, The Composer Riad Elsombaty is the one and only, The Poet Dr. Ibrahim Nagy was out of this world whil writing this Everlasting Piece of Art.

A very special one IJayReaction. Really special. This concert was in May 1968, in Tunisia. After the defeat of Egypt in June 1967, Umm Kalthoum started a long trip to the entire Arab world and Paris staging concerts to donate their revenues to the re-armament of the Egyptian army. She staged two concerts in Paris 1967, three concerts in Morocco in March 1968, one concert in Kuwait in April 1968, two concerts in Tunisia in May and June 1968, two concerts in Lebanon in July 1968, two concerts in Sudan in December 1968, two concerts in Libya in March 1969, two concerts in Lebanon in July 1970, and two concerts in Abu Dhabi in November 1971. All other concerts she staged in Cairo on a monthly basis were their revenues were also donated to the re-armament of the army and help of millions of evacuated people from the Suez Canal cities because of the war of attrition (1967-1970) in which artillery attacks were constant between both combatants. A very special one.

Tunisia’s President Bourguiba and his wife were attending this concert as well. They paid obeisance to her. Immediately after her arrival in Tunisia, she was welcomed by them in the presidential palace. There, she received the highest state decoration in Tunisia. The same happened to her in Morocco when King El Hassan II staged a gathering attended by all ministers as a welcoming party for her. Also, she was accompanied by Sudan’s President Ismail El Azhary personally during her visit to Sudan. She was also welcomed by Kuwait’s King in Kuwait.

    Some points about Umm Kulthum:
    - She holds a handkerchief all the time to try to control her big feelings while singing.
    - There was a musician in her band, Al-kasabji, when he died, she left his chair in all her last concerts as a tribute to him.
    - Her audience is elegant, from the velvet class, who all come in formal dress to listen to Mrs. Umm Kulthum.
    - Umm Kulthum does not turn back to the band to take instructions, as this indicates her confidence and all her focus on her audience.
    - She is a group of sounds in one sound. It is impossible to repeat a syllable in one way every time. It surprises you with a strong and sensitive vocal at the same time.
    - The letters accent of Umm Kulthum is excellent because she began as a reader of the Holy Qur’an.
    - There is a high degree of seriousness in her work and with her band, and she would not accept to sing in a restaurant... All her concerts are on theaters only.
    - It is impossible for a seventy-year-old woman to sing in this way, as it is a mass of feelings and experiences that came from the Egyptian countryside to sing to the whole world.
    - She is a legend in history as a whole.

Originally I am from India but for the past 20 years, I am now Canadian. I listened to this particular song in 1976 when I was only 15 years. I can sing the whole song in its Arabic version. I know every detail of this song. This particular song happened to be one of the greatest songs of this great singer. The critiques have concluded that her greatest song ever happens to be the Rabaiyaat AL-Khayaam, which she sings somewhere in the mid-1940s. I first time listened to that song in 1975.

Umm Kulthum used to give a party once a month with a new song, and the song was being played live at the same time, Egypt and even the entire Arab world were waiting for the party, as all the houses were sitting next to the radio waiting to hear " elset " , stands for the lady . The duration of the concert was three hours, and the purpose of repeating some of the sentences in her singing is that this makes the listener memorize the song before leaving the concert.
The way she stands while singing if full of honor, glory and pride . If u want to know um kalthum u should read about her and the donations she used to do while Egypt was on war . She is a great legend by all means.

You would have to live 1 million years to discover the universe of Oum Kalsoum.
And she only sang about 800 songs, including a hundred very famous ones.
The Universe of the Orient is like no other, and Oum Kalsoum is certainly one of its most beautiful ornaments, at least for the 20th century and following.

Ijay Oum Kalthoum is our ultimate Queen of the Blues and I am not even Egyptian but there is hardly an Artist that can invoke this level o emotions in their audience time and time again. Her performances collectly invoke a natural high. I get similar high when I listen to Stevie rayvaughn performing Little Wing or listening to BbKing or Derek and the Dominos or Koko Taylor...theyre great artist too. But Oum Kalthoum can give them a run in their money anytime

Um Kulthum is unique in every way…. her voice, her vocal range, her performance, the genre of music she sings, her posture, her style in fashion, her hairstyle…. If you make a silhouette of Um Kulthum you will easily identify her because of her own signature in her physical appearance… Another fingerprint of Um Kulthum is that she created an audience that consists of literally all classes, and they’re equally in love with her… She made illiterate people sing in Fosha or classical Arabic… she refined the taste of music in the Arab world… People from all over the world fell in love with her voice, even those who couldn’t understand a word she was saying. She’s a true legend. I don’t think there exists another artist in the history of mankind who’s equally unique. She really is a fourth pyramid…. She’s simply one of a kind… and I’m not saying this because I’m Egyptian, but she truly is different. She left us a legacy.

Al-Atlal is not only a song It's a masterpiece of Umm kulthum.
This song is named many times as (Song of the 20th century).
The first words of the song was changed by Umm kulthum.
It was (O my heart may Allah let love rest in peace, it was like a big tower of imagination so it falled down)
Umm kulthum didn't like to begin its song with (Rest in peace) so she changed it to (O my heart. Don't ask me about love, it was like a big tower of imagination so it falled down)
Bro, please try to make a reaction for its song (aghadan alqak

This party was in Tunis and it was in Stadium for football
You have to concentrate with here hands
Also this record is the best for this song ….. I think because audience was very active with her so her performance was outstanding
But you have notice that when she sings audience completely quiet …..
